The devil/angel switch based on which direction you’re looking at. The devil will always be in front of you and will switch if you turn. The fire pillar turns into a harmless water pillar if you look away from it. Also, only the devil’s projectile’s will damage you, but the angel’s projectiles will turn into the demon’s if they switch positions
So that’s why they was kicking my ass🫠

For the The King's leap, *the bosses correspond to the chess pieces at each one*
For example, 2:01, since it's a knight, you'll fight the horse like knight and 4:16, you fight a castle-looking executioner
The castle executioner is the rook for those of you wondering

I noticed that to and when I first did the horse is the knight and the gladiator looking guy is the rook and the queen looking person is the queen, and the king who gives the coins is the king I forgot some others ;-;
also, the death screen for the rook says "beating you was pretty *straightforward".*
rooks can't move diagonally, only horizontally and vertically. they can only move *straightforwardly.*
also the queen literally says checkmate (winning chess via cornering the king into a permanent check) in her death screen.
also (x3) there are banners in the background that correspond to the pieces.
2:50 for those who haven´t played the DLC yet. The stupid H0NSE requires 20 head parrys to defeat. The fight is easy but man is it tedious to wait till he´s exhausted
my editor didn't show it but you can get behind him and hit him a bunch but its probably not worth the damage lol

actually the game genie is a device for 5 different consoles, it doesnt "enable" cheats, it changes up to 5 words (a word, depending on context, can be a byte, two bytes, or any arbitrary amount of bits), and id prefer if you didnt assume people didnt get the reference because theyre young. i didnt get it not because i wasnt aware of the device, i didnt get it because i dont think of cheat devices 24/7. thanks.
Getting the Divine Relic is definitely worth it, also I should point out that the Cursed Relic switches up your weapons and charms, so make sure to parry during bosses because you might gain HP from one of the charms currently active.
to be more precise: the cursed relic makes you shoot from a random gun every time you shoot. if you hold the button down one time, you might shoot peashooter bullets, the next might be lobber bullets.

Hey Bijuu, you actually DON'T have to beat all the bosses with 1 hp. If you use the Game Djimmi secret, it'll give you 2 HP. Plus, when you use the Cursed Relic, it'll give you the charm where you get HP from Parrying.
The achievement, "A horrible night to have a curse", seems like a reference to what Simon Belmont says at nightfall in Castlevania 2; Simon's Quest
Because it IS a reference to Simon's Quest. There's no "seems like", that straight up IS a reference to that.

Everyone is helping by giving the hints to unlock secrets and this dlc was worth the wait
It's such a shame that unused Card boss, Pachi-Pachi, and Jelly the Octopus aren't in it...
But at least the Light boss's mechanic, and the design for the Flying Gentleman (The Spider Boss), are implemented in that boss that has the fake knockout in the DLC!!

The way the devils skeleton holds the platform like that may be a reference to the old start animation after he rips off his skin and falls down the hole
I mean skeletons represent old people
And the unused animation was old
Fun Fact:The secret boss was gonna be phase 2 of the devil fight and then i assume the skeleton would turn into the devil and trigger the animation to play
You can unlock a golden chalice filter by beating every boss in the game + dlc bosses using Ms.Chalice. The cactus lady near the cow boss says about evil vegetables, hinting at the boss rootpack. If you beat the rootpack she will hint at the next boss. I might be wrong in some details but people have made videos about this.

The secret level had two references.
The first and most important reference (and one that probably sailed over a lot of folks' heads, as I believe most people stop saying it when they get older and more cynical) is the old English Nursery rhyme of 'Star Light, Star Bright,' from the end taunt lines when you fail being 'Wish [ you ] May and Wish [ you ] Might' which then threateningly replaces the original and poignant line of 'Have the wish I wish tonight,' with the more ominous 'Your Soul is Now Trapped in the Night.'
This, coupled with the fact that it uses the _actual_ physical model of the Devil's Skeleton in the background (which the use of physical live action models in animated movies was common in the '30's and 40's to show off their cinematographical tech-wizardry, being used as the opening for 'Popeye the Sailor meets Sinbad the Sailor,' 'Poor Cinderella' and 'Little Dutch Mill,' among others) adds a creepy, somber, and... well, nightmarish, quality to the battle.
Did it _really_ happen?
Or was it merely a figment of Cuphead and/ or Mugman's traumatized imagination, a playback of the duo's life-and-death, do-or-die battle against the Devil, indicating that even though they beat him, they're still afraid of him (which is understandable as HE'S THE DEVIL, THE PHYSICAL EMBODIMENT OF EVIL, and one does not simply walk away from a scrap like that without being scarred in _SOME_ way).
This recent kerfuffle with Saltbaker could've triggered PTSD-style flashbacks in the boys.
But the real reason this quote is so important, is because of its relation back to its most well-known use in popular culture, as the prayer Geppetto says upon seeing the Blue Fairy's Star through his window, wishing that Pinocchio would become a real boy. It isn't much of a secret that the entirety of Cuphead's animation was inspired by the Golden Age of Animation, primarily the Fleischer Bros who made Betty Boop and Popeye; but also, Walt Disney's Adaptation of Pinocchio (plus, the disturbing close-up most players receive of Saltbaker during the second phase of his fight bears an uncanny resemblance to the haunting image of the Coachman's maliciously-grinning and laughing face, the guy who brought small children to Pleasure Island so they could 'make Asses of themselves' and be sold off as free slave labor to work in the mines, a face that was _also_ mimicked in the King Dice battle, when he's sending his cards after you and chuckling evilly).

There’s 2 things that are the deleted things so first the triple shooting thing that is colored yellow is a thing that got deleted as a charm also remember that radio from the spider that was a deleted boss fight but came back

MIKE! If you beat every non DLC boss in the game with Ms. Chalice and then talk to the cactus lady on the DLC island you can get a special filter in which it turns Ms. Chalice gold.

Secret phases : Root pack , dont attack onion and he will turn happy instead of sad and you skip his phase
Goopy le grande , play on expert and little slime willxappear at last phase
Djimmi the great : After 3d phase make sure that you are a little plane and when Djimi scans you well... youll see
Sally stageplay : Make sure to use double jump or parry heart to jump on both andijels and kill hausband , a lot of stuff happaneds then.

Mike. In the castle level you are fighting chess pieces. The 1st fight were pawns, 2nd was the Knight, 3rd was the Bishop, 4th were the Castle walls, 5th is the Queen, and the person who was giving you coins was the King. All of these battles were you fighting pieces from Chess.

The boss fight is the devil after you defeat the first face cuz he turns into the skeleton and turns into the red version of him and that's what it's representing they're in that Astro Point area where the devil is and the bigger person is trying to bring him back with it and do something

Djimmi's name is a pun on the Arabic "Djinni (which is the root for our English word, 'Genie')" and the name "Jimmy."
So ya could just call him Jimmy; it'd sound the same! The D in Djinn is pretty much silent, just pronounced as most would the letters J or G.
As for the second reference: it's Castlevania, specifically Castlevania II: Simon's Quest, with its narmy and often memed line of 'What a Terrible Night to Have a Curse!"
As I think Arin of Game Grumps best summed it up: "When is it ever a _GOOD_ night to have a curse?!"

I heard there was lore about the devil used to be an angel. Idk why but i just heard about it. It might be canon but it might be false too. Nice skills Mike.
All bosses' names where you climb the ladder is:
1st:the pawns
2nd:the knight
3rd:the bishop
4th:the tower(which i forgot the name in english)
5th:the queen
They are all chess pieces
4th: the rook
The secret devil boss
Angel: the old of the devil
The devil: the raging fire
The skeleton: the devil
There is a secret where you need to play Botanic Panic! in normal mode. When you are done with the potato and the onion comes DON'T SHOOT THE ONION just let it be and you get kinda like a secret ending. (Sorry for my bad english) Anyway, keep up the good work!!!♡

Veggies in first island , have a secret boss , don't attack the onion , he only attacks in self defense so if you don't attack him he will bring out his beat root friend , Genie level turn small when he is "scanning" you , and in the theater boss on third island , first phase has some cherubs or angles , if you stand on both it will activate the secret boss

The bosses in “the kings leap” are chess pieces the first one is “the pawns” the second one is “the knight” the third is “the bishop” forth is “the rook” and the final one is “the queen”
i love how the dlc haves u fight chess pieces. the pawns, bishop, knight, rook, and queen! the king was the only one you didnt fight.

I found the Secret phase by accident when I fought the boss on my third attempt, I thought I glitched it to Simple mode or something(I dont really play simple so didn't know)
these secrets are insanely cool
If you play in Co-op and Cuphead and Mugman have the Astral Cookie Charm, the player who's gonna play as Mrs. Chalice is chosen randomly, per exemple, if Cuphead is the one who the computer choses to be Mrs. Chalice, Mugman will show a secret animation, he will try to eat a cookie but the plane grabs it off his hand and eat it. It can also work in reverse

Chalice is brought back alive at the end of the DLC .. in the credits you can see it think how SaltBaker helps everyone at the end and in the last pic you can see Chalice with Cupman and Mugman and the others with her body!

There's a secret phase on the level with the Root Pack, Djimmi (Pronounced Jimmy), and Sally Stageplay
The root pack is simple, don't attack the onion
Djimmi, you have to mugman and the mini plane after the 3rd phase
Sally, you have to jump on top of both cardboard babies, you'll hear a click when you've jumped on one
Also, all the character's you encounter in the King's Leap are Chess Pieces.
You PWN'd the Pawns; you had a fight with a Knight; tried not to slip-up
with the Bishop; took on a Rook; and cleaned the Queen's
clock 'Free o' Charge (FOC).'

I'd go to a site on the internet, the answers awaited, on that you could bet! Sorry to say that I couldn't do it on my own, but still, an idea carried out is a reward all it's own.

You need to beat 8 or 9 bosses or more with the relic for it to become the divine relic, the divine relic is the BEST charm in the game, random weapons still and you get whetstone smoke bomb heart ring and coffee all in one charm. With the divine relic. And you can’t beat the same boss you have already beat when you did it with the relic. So just beat the easy bosses. With the relic.

Can you use the 3rd super art with Chalice? The 3rd uses maximum damage, so I kinda wanna see how much damage it does and the animation
Secret phase: in Sally stage plays 1st phase if you jump on both angel platforms and stay on long enough they make the chandelier unsteady and then it falls on the husband and ends the first phase. And I'll let you find out the rest for yourself . Also if you don't hurt onion boi in the root pack then he won't attack and the phase ends and beetroot boi comes out in the third phase
