    It's not just that the serve was 140, it's that Federer is standing right on the baseline. To return a 140mph serve to the body from that distance is almost impossible, much less to hit it clean and deep. Unreal.

    • @Onmysheet
      @Onmysheet 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That serve had so much weight and speed. Nadal hits his shots differently, weight with heavy topspin which Federer had trouble with. Roddick's were hard and flat.

    • @tehatte
      @tehatte 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      A good return but not one of the best. Why? Yes the ball was fast but the placement was not good, it was close to Federer and right at his backhand position he didn’t have to move much, he didn’t hit back but just blocked the ball, a smart choice because if he hit back on a fast ball it would likely go long. So it’s not the speed but rather the placement of the serve is what makes it hard to return. When a serve is around 120 or even 110 mph but right in the corner it’s harder to return because though it’s not as fast as 140 mph it’s out of your reach. Who’s the best at returning these serves? Djokovic, because he has so much flexibility in his body. Not only he can get those difficult balls back but back deep right at your feet, showing his great ability to adjust the weight on the return at different and difficult positions.

    • @tehatte
      @tehatte 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@razorback9926 These are your own claims. While the big 3, or big 4 if include Murray all return the serve good, many experts consider Djokovic is the best in general, not only compared to the others, but ever. The only player they compare with Djokovic is actually Agassi. People usually don’t compare the 2nd serve return much, they do more on the first serve because it’s fast and harder to return. The is where Djokovic is a monster in returning. You can google, search on youtube about this. I don’t need to convince you. The GOAT debate? Don’t mention it here. I’m tired of hearing it because I’ve already read/heard of this debate as much as anyone that cares about it.

      Of course the top tennis players are expected to return very quick serves well, especially a player like Djokovic. I won't deny that he's among the best to ever pick up a racket and also the best returner the game has seen overall! But it's the show-offish way it's done here! In table tennis you also see many pros with great returns, but the way Jan Ove Waldner just used to block shots with his backhand using the incoming shot's pace is incredibly pleasant on the eye. Like Federer's one handed flick displayed here.
