I stopped at 18 all but one of these dogs has long coats requiring alot of maintenance I've seen many videos of what they look like when not groomed regularly which cost money that a lot of seniors don't have. Stick with the short coats. Anna In Ohio

Then all dead hair from shedding go away.

my scottish lived for 16 years. that's 4 years more than it's said. and he was highly trainable. very obedient and smart. I could take him anywhere and he would be just cool and happy. best dog. strongly recommend.

As an 80 year old - where is minature poodle? Owned many large to small dogs and loved each the best. My mini poodle now 16 is perfect fit for elderly. She is geriatric specialist letting me know when buzzers and alarms sound, keeping me on schedule with gentle reminders taking on traveling sslesmen we with a good talking to, playing gently with young or frail, low health concerns, grooming i can do with a pair of clippers (ok not so good as professional but she doesnt care) and her only desire is to keep me safe and be with me.

It’s such a shame they bred them longer. So many with back issues and in wheelchairs, I had 2 wire hair before they were red longer and they even had legs! If I could find one like that again I would get one or more!

My short hair Chihuahua(9lbs) is the perfect pet for my senior self. She is my baby girl n very vocal if she hears anyone near my door.

l have owned 2 corgis, and as a senior i would nor own one, they are intelligent but scrappy, they will attack anything, birds cats sheep horses cows and other dogs, they are a working dog and need an active owner
