A few others, who actually went to the Olympics, to add to the list:
1. Jiang Yuyuan, a very decent all-rounder, considering that 90% of the Chinese gymnasts are very weak at fx and vault, she does a pretty good job (comparatively, though vault is really her weakness). Her 2008 fx was just AMAZING, not in terms of execution but it was really eye-catching. 2008 was the only one she attended as well, such a shame! :( Wang Yan was good at fx and vault but never good on uneven bars.
2. Shang Chunsong, another decent all-rounder, even got a skill named after her. Her backstory was quite heartbreaking. Even when she was the oldest one for the national championship last year, she still got a medal for fx.
3. Yao Jinnan, amazing bar worker, but never got any luck in the Olympics.
4. Steliana Nistor, decent all-rounder, juggled with studies and sports and still ace them. Again, didn't have the luck.
Agreed that Katelyn would have killed the Olympics if it hadn't been for her coach. Anna Pavlova had won an individual medal in the Olympics, but 2008 wasn't her year at all. Her fx was beautiful. Viktoria Komova got a silver AA, but she could definitely do better, 2012 wasn't her year.

I think Anastasia Grishina couldve been on this list too, she got in 12th for the London aa quals but due to the 2 per country rule ( aliya 5th and vika 1st ) she didn't qualify, and she got in 9th for bb finals ( she had a few connection breaks , wobbles and step on dismount so she couldve scored better then her qf score of 14.9 ) her olympics were rough but her coaches drained the poor girl and we sadly never saw her win an individual olympic medal.

If grace hadn’t been injured annd forced to downgrade, she likely would’ve won a bars medal in Tokyo. With inbars and her Fabrichinova (which she competed once and did well) she would’ve had a 6.5D.
