  • This is a Video to show you how to adjust the Centring Spring on the Left Stick of the Spektrum DX6i.... when the Centring Arm is enabled it doesn't quite centralise the Stick so re-calibration is required... just follow these simple steps....

    Hi does this procedure work with dx7s?

    • @TeriWilde
      @TeriWilde  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, I also have the DX7S and it had the spring in there ready to adjust.... but you only need to turn it over and remove the rubber finger grip behind the Left Stick because there are holes on the back to adjust them...

    Not a good idea. Why would you want the vertical throttle stick to self center? Just the horizontal stick movement (rudder) should be self centering. The throttle should be able to stay down (no throttle) when you turn on the transmitter otherwise the radio won't initialize properly and/or whatever your flying will start up around half throttle. You shouldn't need to hold the throttle stick down.

      we are not using these for flying the people I'm aiming at Drive surface model vehicles where we need the throttle to self centre so we don't go into reverse inadvertently.... and on a lot of the spectrum radios they provide the Adjustment for self centring... it's just an option that is usually disabled from factory....

      Sorry, I assumed this setup was for aircraft. Surface vehicles didn't enter my mind. I use pistol type controllers with my surface RCs. Anymore most stick transmitters are setup mainly for aircraft.

      I've been into the RC hobby for 38 years and I have never had a wheel type radio for my vehicles, I've tried one when they first came out but I just cannot get along with them, I prefer the sticks

    I hope you are fine!
    One more question!
    Is it possible ro turn off the throtlle alarm when the stick are not in lower position?
    Best regards!
    Thank you!

      you can turn it off, in the settings , go to "Warnings" and it can be disabled from there.

      to recalibrate your DX7S after you adjust the spring tensioner follow this procedure....
      Power OFF....
      Hold down the Scroll Roller and turn on the Power Switch....
      System Set Up Menu, Scroll down to System Settings {click}....
      System Settings - Scroll down to "NEXT" {click}
      Extra Settings - Scroll down to "NEXT" {click}
      Serial Number - scroll down to "NEXT" {click}
      Calibrate - Move Left Stick fully UP/DOWN LEFT/RIGHT - Move Right Stick fully UP/DOWN LEFT/RIGHT - Turn AUX2 fully LEFT & fully RIGHT, then return to CENTRE
      Click "SAVE"
      Calibration is then saved and the system will return to Main Screen....

    Tried to centre my left stick but it doesn't have anything on the side. No screws to take out or screw in like you did. Probably because my dx6i came with a helicopter so eSky probably modified it or bought it in like that. Not sure if the parts are available to reinstall. I won't be flying helicopters again. Stopped before I took someone's head off with my eyesight getting so bad. Might try your backlight mod though. Hard to see the screen. Should have been a standard feature I think.

    • @TeriWilde
      @TeriWilde  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it would seem strange that someone would take out the centring spring, arm and screws for no reason... but I have heard that ''some'' of the DX6i didn't have them fitted from the factory... you can get the centring spring kit if you e-mail Horizon Hobby, and they'll give you the contact details of your local Parts Stockist...

  • @drinternatg6391
    @drinternatg6391 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for that. Just had email back from Horizon Hobby. They can supply a kit for £7.20. I think the fact it came with a helicopter that would want the left stick free to be put in any position and let go is why it was not fitted to begin with.

    Hey man great video very helpful. I have one problem i have calibrated after tensioning gimbal/stick and my sliders are not lining up mainly throttle its about 1 bar away from where it should be i have tried calibrating again with same results and all my trims were centre before calibrating as done in your video is there anything i can do to resolve this thanks.

    • @TeriWilde
      @TeriWilde  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      After adjusting the spring make sure the digital trims ate centred and then go through the Calibration process, make sure you're push the sticks fully when doing so... the Throttle stick will settle very slightly above the centre mark which is common on most Spektrum radios....

  • @DudeTalk
    @DudeTalk 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Theoretically setting the throttle zero position to center with that allow me to use reverse thrust on aircraft in the negative value range on the throttle stick?

    • @TeriWilde
      @TeriWilde  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you can also set the throttle zero at 25% so you would have 75% travel as forward thrust and 25% reverse thrust...

    • @TeriWilde

      yes... you can turn off the "Throttle High" warning by going into the settings and look for "Warnings" and change the Throttle to INH and that will stop it....
