The effect in 1:47 where the footage adjusts the colour and contrast of itself is genius!!! Its easy to overlook but beautifully made!! NICE TOUCH MAN!!
I wish I knew what you were referring to. I am no colorist but I try to pay attention to the editing. I still could not see how the change in scene at 1:47 to 1:48 affected the color and contrast. My ignorance, of course. But I hope that the more I learn, the more I’ll see and understand what I see.
The panel is great but I have a few comments. - you can't use curves - I often accidentally move the trackballs, for example when reaching for the nobs - they could at least add license for Davinci for iPad - and finally, a note about Davinci for iPad rather than the panel - I can't select several clips without using the mouse and keyboard
The playback control does work in edit mode, but you have to be very careful not touching the trackballs, if you accidentally moved the trackballs in edit mode, the changes wont show up until you enterd color mode, and it could be too late to undo the changes
I too have had my panel, as a colourist it is great! Couple of things I do not like but you cant win them all. Well worth the investment if you do do colour grading.
🔥I won this same panel from ReoslveCon recently, (it supposed to arrive in another week or so), I am SOOOO looking forward to using it. Just as you, I LOVE my speed editor and when I dont have it, I am totally lost while editing. So much so that I bought a second speed editor that I keep with my MacBook Pro when were traveling to different events, (using one speed editor on multiple devices is a bit clunky in the the pairing as you have to repair each time you switch up, Desktop to iPad and/or Laptop and back. Due to how often I swap back and forth I felt it was investment to get another Speed editor for that reason, each dedicated to its own machine). Any how, thank you for this review, I am looking forward to more videos from you on this with in depth use cases. Noticed were using the same mouse as well, LOVE it, thumb scroll wheel for zooming the timeline in and out on edit page is SO handy for my workflow And the MX keys, LOVE the back lit feature working in a dark office for eye strain reasons. (Worn through the black paint on the space bar already... 😜
I know that I won't buy this but still I'm watching this wonderful video because your style is so interesting. Thank you for creating such amazing content!
@@JorisHermansFirstly I get to know new things. Secondly in my opinion some creators are boring, my native language isn't English and some videos can be a little bit harder to understand. But your videos and your voice, your style is amazing, I just enjoy watching and listening to your videos. When I started to understand English videos I understood perfectly maybe only two content creators at that moment: you and Anthony Gugliotta. Best wishes to you!
Thank you for your guides, which have helped me improve my editing! I wish I had even a tenth of your experience. I have a question regarding audio. When I watch a video on TH-cam, I usually set the volume to around 20%. However, when I listen to my own videos, I have to turn the volume up to 100% to get a similar listening experience. I normalize, compress, and limit each of my audio tracks, doing my best to stay as close as possible to TH-cam's guidelines. Yet, despite all my efforts, the sound doesn’t match that of other creators, not even those using the same microphone as I do (Blue Yeti). It feels like I’m missing something big that everyone else seems to understand! Do you have any advice or guidance on where I could focus my research? Thank you for your educational and fun content! P.S.: If this comment comes across as self-promotion for my channel or causes any issues, please feel free to delete it!
@@scottplusplus I'm already at the maximum DB and LUFS alllowed by TH-cam. I did try to turn the gain up but TH-cam just reduce the volume if its too loud !
With my zenbook dualscreen technically i should beable to do similar virtually, but the program doesn't work really great. Butasmall panel to havealso the free pro DVR licence, could be nice
2 things Joris: 1. If you made a beginners course for Davinci I’d buy it 2. Can you do more CapCut videos showing how to do really cool effects and intros to short form videos?
The only reason why this wouldn’t work for me is because I never got used to using the color wheels. I’ve been a curves editor from the start. They’re far more powerful and precise.
Using curves for color balancing s and seems challenging - especially when you start using linear color space to speed up white balancing with the gamma wheel

Anything to speed up my workflow. I also have the speed editor but need to get used to using it. I'm not quite used to using it. I'm terrible with the edit page.

@joannawinterdelgado: Thank you for pointing that out. I now understand. Yes, Joris, you added a nice touch to this video!
Looks awesome - cheers, Joris.. always love the honesty 🙏🤘
It works great with the iPad Pro with Resolve 19 and makes for a great portable editing suite along with the speed editor.
I wish BlackMagic made photography software. DaVanci Resolve and BMD's hardware is incredible. Photoshop is dated trash.
Affinity Photo, Designer and Publisher replace Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign! For Audition I have replaced it with Reaper.

have you tried turning up the gain on your audio channel before exporting your video just to see if that fixes the volume issue? (ex on a test-video?)

Does it speed up the color process or you can’t do it without it?
