A quick way to check out riding mower is alt check , battery load test and remove fuel cap
Install spark tester on both cly
Start up and look in oil filler pipe for smoke
You’ll know where to start

Main thing is to let it set at least 48+

Probably you'll just have to get a new flywheel. I've never seen the magnets for sale separately.... Or a used flywheel, look on ebay....

Looks like briggs et stratton engineers have found one more way to programmed obsolescence. After some research on the web it appear that many experience the same problem. One would think that 4K$ for a tractor would be enough to purchase quality. Nop! I guess even a piece of shit can be expensive.
