      Hey, I was thinking of starting this side hustle and I got a couple questions if you got time to answer.
      1. How much was commercial trailer insurance if you got it? or is that not needed?
      2. Will the landfill take all types of debris such as drywall and wood? As I was thinking of letting people rent it for a couple days, load it up and ill pick it up and take it off somewhere.

    My 2 cents also if you can afford it, spend the extra $$ on a deckover. The model dump you see here has an elevated frame but too many out there are very low to the ground. You don't want them because you can not just dump a load and get out from under it. You'll find if you want a tight pile you just can't and have to drag it out 10 feet to get it all off the edge of the box. Great video sir

      @@OldSchoolMillennial interesting - I’d like to by one relatively soon, next month or so, and I figured, like you, that there are many possibilities for it. First I need it for many of my own stuff on my land etc. but I like the idea of renting it out, where I am not the operator. I believe, I’m still working on it, but I believe I can create an automated website which will allow people to go on the website, view the trailer and specs, see available time slots, and rent the trailer for that time slot.
      I have a plot of land that can be used for storage. And i think I can integrate the auto booking feature in with access to the trailer so only that person can access it when they book it.
      The only thing required by me is to inspect it once it’s returned. I think… I’m still working on it, but it would allow some extra income for little work after everything is built out.

I landed 4 mowing accounts and also did 7 mulch jobs and paid for both units that first season. There are so many ways to side hustle. Just gotta be patient and determined and it'll all work out.

    I’m trying to find a truck based on the fact that I want a 9990 GVWT dump trailer. So the 3/4 ton trucks are my major focus. But like we chatted about before, my price range 3/4 ton trucks are either cheap and rusted with ok miles, or made out of gold and not rusted and have high miles! Ahhh even though the 1/2 ton can handle it, I’d really prefer the sturdy 3/4 ton.

    • @DanielAtkinsFirewood
      @DanielAtkinsFirewood 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Look on government auction websites for trucks.,
      I got my 97 Ford F250HD over a year ago and it only had 109k on the clock.
      To top things off I am the 1st original owner.. 😁👍

    • @OldSchoolMillennial
      @OldSchoolMillennial  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it's always good to go ahead and get the bigger truck if you can swing. I'm actually looking for a 3/4 ton myself. Trucks are pretty expensive right now. But I agree with what Daniel said below about going to government auction websites to find a truck. My dad found two trucks that way for good deals. There are also auctions out there that sell used fleet vehicles and school district vehicles or for parks and recreation department. You have to keep your eye open for a deal though. Good Luck!

    I have a 40 hp Tractor, bucket and grapple. I’m thinking a 6x10 or 6x12 2 52lb axles. I can hall my Tractor on my 20 ft 2 7,000 lb axles eq flatbed trailer. dovetail. Good idea?

    • @OldSchoolMillennial
      @OldSchoolMillennial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mark, if you have your tractor covered with the other trailer that's not a bad idea. It just depends on if you'll ever want to haul you tractor to a jobsite with your dump trailer. If so you may want to look at a bigger trailer than a 6x12. However, if you're good hauling your tractor always with you dovetail the 6x12 should work just fine. Hope that helps.
