I'm pretty sure it's legal. You'd file under your social instead of having an LLC or anything. I don't think you can fake a business name though. But, this may be illegal due to the drone flying, I think you have to have some sort of license or something but Im not sure on that part
Forget the licence. We litrally are fucking slavea. This planet is a joke. 15 minute cities comint here soon. Facial.recognition already in uk stores such as coop and farmfoods
My grandpa had an Ariel photo of their farm. I always thought that was p sweet. I’d absolutely wanna make sure my home had all the projects I wanna do done before take it tho.
Your grandfather probably got the image taken from an airplane pilot. A farm is a large chunk of land. And in order to get the entire property in frame for a photo, you would have to fly way above 400 feet AGL, and this would be illegal to do with a drone. However, it is still possible to create an image of the farm by using mapping software. The drone only has to fly about 200 feet AGL, but it will be shooting a couple hundred photos that is later stitched together within the mapping software, and then later generated into a 3D model, which actually looks like one big photograph. But most drone pilots will charge way more for this since it takes way more time and expense to develop.
My point exactly. And I'll go out of my way to bust the people that don't have one. Because some of us actually went through the effort to attain that freaking 107
If he is unlicensed (recreational or 107) he could get fined by the FAA with just this video. I've seen plenty of people get in trouble when they do things without the proper licenses when it comes to aircraft. Add the fact that in the US you need a license to use a drone over 250 grams and to use it for none recreational purposes. You also can't fly it over 400 feet without a license
Can confirm. My grandfather on my dad's side paid around $300 to have photos of his farmhouse taken by a local pilot in Kansas. My grandfather on my mother's side paid a little less for the same in Minnesota. Since both men have passed away I now have those pictures hanging in my home in the middle of a giant paved city... ew
You do need to register your drone get remote id and also get a Trust certificate but if you are flying for commercial purposes and not recreational then under Part 107 you need a proper license for it. Be safe out there 😂 they can track you if you have remote id setup on your drone.
So many better an easier side hustles that’ll make you way more money. If you know what you’re doing at least. I detail cars and make $600 a day minimum. That’s $3000 a week for something that’s done on the side and is completely tax free because it’s all under the table. One car only takes me 3-4 hours. I always do 2 cars a day, sometimes I’ll do more if I’m not busy. Ceramic coatings? I’ll make $1,200 in 8 hours . It’s not even work because I love doing it. It’s more of a hobby that I love and I’ve been doing this for the past decade. On top of reselling shoes and more. Honestly, who’s going to go and take pictures of homes with a drone on the side. Oh brother 😂

Don't forget that you also are required to be licensed as a commercial drone operator (part 107) for this. You cannot use a drone on a recreational license to make money (but also i feel like my guy didn't get a recreational license either... Maybe i could be wrong). You are also legally required to mark your drone with your FAA registration number on the exterior of the drone prior to flying. If you are NOT American this does not apply, though pretty much any jurisdiction has drone licensing now and some have separate licensing for commercial use. For instance, in Canada you would need to be licensed. To actually operate commercially you need to hold drone liability insurance in excess of $100kCAD as well. On site with you on all commercial flights you would need the following: proof of liability insurance, a business card with your full contact info, copy of UAV operating specs (speed, max operational wind conditions, flight times, among other things), your training cert, and a site survey needs to be performed (however you don't need to have this on hand, though it is ideal).
Best Christmas present idea thanks bro, making one for my parents old farm house tomorrow, ehh might have to wait till next year until the trees are full again, still an awesome idea tho thanks mang.
Exactly and here on the coast, people pay professional photographers to use drones to picture their sailboats too, i’m talking thousands, and it’s always kind of been a prestigious thing because people used to get aerial photos of their homes and display them
“How to make 5000 bucks a day with a drone step one find the house of a rich guy step 2 take pictures of them with a woman who is not his wife step 3 blackmail”
If you want to do this long term, make sure that you have a Part 107 Cert. Takes like 2 weeks of study, cost 160 for the test and you have 2hrs to do it. Not hard. This will allow you to do any commercial work, or make money in general. Editing software is around 30 bucks a month if you use Adobe’s Lightroom. Drones are 300 bucks up to 4k. DJI is a solid company. Great service. Takes about 1 month to retail all the information needed to be safe. TLDR you need about 2 months and 500-2000 to do this.
You really have no idea what you’re talking about. You’ve obviously never run a business if you can’t see the 99 flaws with this dumb idea. This kid is gonna get dummies like you in trouble cause you don’t know how the laws works
The hard part is to actually find someone interested. In REALLY nice areas like that the home owners might call the cops if they see strangers hanging around or flying drones about. He also left out the commercial drone license that may be required to do this legally..
I used to use this as my main drone- Hubsan Zino (i use a DJI Mini 4 pro now) and for it's price I don't think there's much to complain about really but only problem is it's not as reliable as high end drones as well as weighing 720 grams (over 249g) which means you MUST license the drone as well as get an operators ID and flyer ID to fly it
Once learned in a marketing class that even though I can’t afford it there’s 100% someone out there that can. Point is if you believe in your service you can charge at your liking, and people will still be interested.
You can accept donations to put towards your part 107, as long as you make if clear to the customer where the money is going. That would be perfectly legal, just save up the money until you can pay for the part 107.
Here’s a little bit of knowledge lesson for y’all, I’m currently training become a private pilot and I have my drone license. The FAA actually says “Pilot Certification To operate the controls of a drone under Part 107, you need a remote pilot certificate with a small UAS rating, or be under the direct supervision of a person who holds such a certificate. You must be at least 16 years old to qualify for a remote pilot certificate, and you can obtain it in one of two ways. You may pass an initial aeronautical knowledge test at an FAA-approved knowledge testing center. If you already have a Part 61 pilot certificate, you must have completed a flight review in the previous 24 months and you must take a small UAS online training course provided by the FAA.” In order to be able to legally monetize the photos you need to have a commercial drone operators license, what does allows you to do is use them for profit based companies and or single use cases. Say if someone were to offer you 100 bucks to go take some photos for them that would not be allowed. But if you offered to take photos for someone for free and they use them in a non-commercial Way such as hanging them up then that’s fine. But if you do them for free for say a school church or an nonprofit then it’s kind of a gray area but it’s still best to have your drone operators license. But To add onto this if you took photos for someone for free and they use it in commercial way that is illegal. TLDR: The FAA sucks and what he showed in the video is illegal to do.
If it was actually a legal to do then why do they have a license so that you can do it legally like your post contradicts itself. You say you have to have a license but then you say doing it is illegal so which is it do you need a license or is it illegal contradictions are quarrelsome at best
Just a tip though, you legally have to have a drone piloting license. It costs about $175 to take but in order to legally make money with a drone, you have to have the license. Otherwise you can be fined about $30,000 in fines
I’d just like to add: you really should get a Part 107 License to do this. For one, it teaches about the airspace laws, & it allows you to sell photos. Technically this is a “commercial usage of a drone” which requires a FAA license.
Sidenote: one comment already mentioned this but you need to register with the FAA to get an official license number. If you are doing this, it is not considered recreational and therefore you would have to sign up as drone for business. This both takes a long time and requires some paperwork. Also tips for the drone: it’s not necessary but a drone with good features such as long battery life and GPS would surely do a good deed. I recommend the DJI Magic Mini, gets the job done. You should definitely be getting practice with your drone before you fly it and make sure you understand it. Of course, don’t fly in a densely populated space, you’re going to end up hitting something or someone. Tell the owner of the house your shooting for to notify the neighbors if the situation too. Basically, common sense and an application process is really all you need.

@@djseb2583 pretty sure you still need a license no? Even hobbyists are supposed to be licensed lol

sound like more b.s the government bureaucracy made up so they can squeeze more money out of you to line their pockets. I could see if your drones were sharing air space with commercial air craft but for what hes using it for thats maybe150-200 feet high.
My neighbor just sued a guy for doing just that. So make sure you’re not going to anywhere lawyers live. If they see the opportunity to make money off you they take it.

I'm pretty sure it's legal. You'd file under your social instead of having an LLC or anything. I don't think you can fake a business name though. But, this may be illegal due to the drone flying, I think you have to have some sort of license or something but Im not sure on that part
Ahh yes just study for a whole month and get my drone license 💀
Hope you got your part 107, the faa can mean sometimes…
My point exactly. And I'll go out of my way to bust the people that don't have one. Because some of us actually went through the effort to attain that freaking 107

If he is unlicensed (recreational or 107) he could get fined by the FAA with just this video. I've seen plenty of people get in trouble when they do things without the proper licenses when it comes to aircraft. I remember the glider pilot who got his licenses suspended for performing aerobatic maneuvers in an airshow.

Can confirm. My grandfather on my dad's side paid around $300 to have photos of his farmhouse taken by a local pilot in Kansas.
My grandfather on my mother's side paid a little less for the same in Minnesota. Since both men have passed away I now have those pictures hanging in my home in the middle of a giant paved city... ew

@Purple PencilGrey-Pink 🏳️🌈⃠ you do need a licence to use the drone for none recreational use so selling pictures would technically need a licence
Wait till he finds out this is illegal 😂
You do need to register your drone get remote id and also get a Trust certificate but if you are flying for commercial purposes and not recreational then under Part 107 you need a proper license for it. Be safe out there 😂 they can track you if you have remote id setup on your drone.
The largest photo Walmart prints same day is 8x10. You also need a license to do drone work.

Aye, that cool, great job! I’m thinking about doing that, my question is how do you promote your side business?
Nice. Concise, informative.
Loved this, would love more drone job tips.
NIce. Concise and informative... Except for the fact that you have to register the drone and get an actual FFA license for commercial use.
Aside, my friend,
It is a great idea.
There are many that would have a nice photo of their home.🤙🏽
As a roofer . I can attest to handwriting on the back of door hangars . It does dramatically increase new clients as it feels
More personal .
hey brotha, im thinking of doing door hangers for my photo business, you just keep the back blank and write the number as well? let me know if you hot a sample. I would love yo see it.
@@mariomihalikfilms yup exactly . All my business info is on the front of the door hanger . Then I just had the printer designs a blank white box on the back of the hanger with 1 word on the top that says “Notes” . Then I just write a personal message for that specific home. If you get glossy paper you need to use a sharpie and wait 10 seconds for the writing to dry.
I love the sarcasm ❤
"go to McDonalds for free WiFi"
$200 for a picture taken with a $300 drone. Let that sink in.
On site with you on all commercial flights you would need the following: proof of liability insurance, a business card with your full contact info, copy of UAV operating specs (speed, max operational wind conditions, flight times, among other things), your training cert, and a site survey needs to be performed (however you don't need to have this on hand, though it is ideal).
a similar idea is that you can get paid for stalking and taking pictures of someone changing in their house and selling them
bro never even thought of mentioning having to have a part 107 license lmao
I love the idea 💡 & I live in the ghetto wee don’t have no nice houses 🏡 😮❤
Best Christmas present idea thanks bro, making one for my parents old farm house tomorrow, ehh might have to wait till next year until the trees are full again, still an awesome idea tho thanks mang.
Exactly and here on the coast, people pay professional photographers to use drones to picture their sailboats too, i’m talking thousands, and it’s always kind of been a prestigious thing because people used to get aerial photos of their homes and display them
what drone do you have exactly because I'm looking for a dron like under 500 dollars but i cant find the best one
You are the best at this entrepreneur stuff thank you
You really have no idea what you’re talking about. You’ve obviously never run a business if you can’t see the 99 flaws with this dumb idea. This kid is gonna get dummies like you in trouble cause you don’t know how the laws works
You don't need $1,000 drone but you need a commercial operators license
"People are curious to see them from the sky." Literally every house looks the same in that neigborhood. 😂
The hard part is to actually find someone interested. In REALLY nice areas like that the home owners might call the cops if they see strangers hanging around or flying drones about. He also left out the commercial drone license that may be required to do this legally..

You need a part 107 license to do this.
I used to use this as my main drone- Hubsan Zino (i use a DJI Mini 4 pro now) and for it's price I don't think there's much to complain about really but only problem is it's not as reliable as high end drones as well as weighing 720 grams (over 249g) which means you MUST license the drone as well as get an operators ID and flyer ID to fly it
“This was me and the family at DisneyLand… and this right here is my house”
Congratulations, you’ve just discovered the *Photography Business.*
Me with 720p drone strapping my 48megapixel camera phone to the drone:🗿
You will also need to buy a $100 license to do this.
Here’s a little bit of knowledge lesson for y’all, I’m currently training become a private pilot and I have my drone license. The FAA actually says “Pilot Certification
To operate the controls of a drone under Part 107, you need a remote pilot certificate with a small UAS rating, or be under the direct supervision of a person who holds such a certificate.
You must be at least 16 years old to qualify for a remote pilot certificate, and you can obtain it in one of two ways.
You may pass an initial aeronautical knowledge test at an FAA-approved knowledge testing center.
If you already have a Part 61 pilot certificate, you must have completed a flight review in the previous 24 months and you must take a small UAS online training course provided by the FAA.”
In order to be able to legally monetize the photos you need to have a commercial drone operators license, what does allows you to do is use them for profit based companies and or single use cases.
You forgot to mention the TRUST test... Even Part 107 pilots have to take the TRUST test now as well. Dumb, but true!
“Step one: $2000 drone.”
Nah you can get ones with great cameras for as low as 400. It’s still pricey but significantly better than 2000. I got my mini 2 for about 510
✨home.✨
Bear in mind you need a special license to perform real estate drone photography.
Me:take a picture someone house and send it to them
Home owner:I’m going to call the police
IRS: were gonna need that money
to anyone looking into this you also need to have your part 107 pilots license or you can be fined big money by the FAA
