    Do you have to close off the suction side of the compressor always to add oil to the system on a rack

    • @D2DNYAC
      @D2DNYAC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are adding oil directly into the compressor oil port NO!

      If there’s no oil port do you add it from the high side(liquid line) ?

    Can you pump in the oil directly to the compressor without using the manifold gauge? Can you hook up the yellow hose directly to the compressor oil port and just watch oil level on sight glass?

      Some of the oil in the compressor circulates with the refrigerant

    can you add POE oil through equalizer line on rack system or do you have to use suction port?

    • @D2DNYAC
      @D2DNYAC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Any port that’s on the bottom of the compressor can be used or if there’s none go through the suction on the compressor

    can u make a video on how to diagnose the compressor to know it was low on oil

    • @D2DNYAC
      @D2DNYAC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Typically you can tell by oil low level safety alarm or by viewing oil through sight glass on compressor or if your system has refrigerant leak and along with that a huge puddle of oil

    Can we reduce the oil level by remove little bit of oil in the scroll compressor so oil level can drop?

    Pump system down? Or just turn system off and pump oil in.

    • @D2DNYAC
      @D2DNYAC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pump would make it easier to add oil because of low back pressures but no I didn’t pump down

    Said simply "level line anywhere in sight glass"! Thats how they work, if its below the glass you don't know how far below, if it's above the glass you don't know how far above! Some where in the glass, you know right where it is! Also is there not a lot else to know here? If it's a charged system how do you not contaminate it? Guessing you must have to prime the pump and lines by pumping through all the lines involved back into your bulk oil until there is no air bubbles? Why cant you just use any pump? Guessing that the long narrow Yellow jacket pump with its long stroke and low displacement has the ability to manage, check and over come the static system pressure so you can get oil into a pressurized system? Why would you use a manifold to pump oil? Im just a dummy DIY AC guy that does some install and repair of ac gear in my own business and was looking for info on adding oil on 4, 5 ton systems based on line set length. Still on the hunt for that info!

      Not just anywhere in the sight glass, typically 50 - 75% up is okay, yes must hose first to remove air prior to connecting! You don’t have to use a manifold a hose will do just fine!
