    It’s always summer at Shaw’s. Fellow New Englander!

    Some scrolls I work on have a little port down the bottom of the body which runs into its sump. Thanks for the video, look forward to your vac pump technique!

    Snippet of info. I am on my second oil pump like the one pictured in this video. First one had a catastrophic failure on a whole rack oil change and I had to send my apprentice with the company card to rush and get me a new one. The roll-pin on the shatter of the pump that captures it in the sleeve sheared off entirely . The second one is also useless without using a ball valve on the outlet since the internal check-valve seems to have failed.
    I have to close the ball valve on the outlet pull the pump handle up to fill the cylinder with oil. Then open the ball valve I pump the handle down and at the end of the down stroke I have to close the ball valve and keep a hand on the handle so it it doesn’t clock me in the chin before I close the ball valve.
    I got a higher quality yellow-jacket max flo and it is much heavier duty

    How i add oil is lower my suction set point to like 10 15 pounds cus the oil res. Is at 10 to 20 pound above suction pressure then hook up to bottom of oil res. Start pumping. When u are starting a new compressor up or one that has been down for enough time you have to fill it before starting.

    You need an extension for that detector

    I used to pump it into the compressor suction but now I just pump straight into the separator if possible. Pumping against 250psi with no problem

      @gendronhvac-r1269  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do you work on co2 systems?
      250 PSI is very high suction pressure
      . I know that's what like a CO2 system is that's pretty neat if you do

    • @JZ9701
      @JZ9701 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gendronhvac-r1269 I meant pumping into the high side of the oil line so it would be at 250psi average on a r404a system. I have yet to work on a transcritical co2 rack but i have worked on a couple sub critical co2 racks

    Hey sir , are you adding oil when system running ?

    • @gendronhvac-r1269
      @gendronhvac-r1269  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes.
      It's the way I was taught:).

    Great, but donsnt say how much oilto put in. What determines the level of oil

    • @gendronhvac-r1269
      @gendronhvac-r1269  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It does say how much oil to put in.
      And if I knew how much oil was currently in the system. That would be great but the problem is I don't know how much oil is currently in the system.
      So if you read the rack manual depending on your rack.
      It tells you how much to fill it based on the site glass in the oil separator.
      So if there is four balls For your site glass in your oil separator a lot of systems will call 2 floating about.
      So typically you fill up the oil separator about halfway but You would have to read the manual to your specific rack. And then if that Doesn't have the information you would have to read the manual to your specific oil separator and I should have Some guidance. But half way is typically what I find.
      God bless

      He’s on the bottom of the res pumping through a service valve. That’s a hill rack so it’s uses low oil pres feed off a differential check at top of the res. So you are only overcoming 30-60# of pressure with pump while feed is active. What schrader do you think you’re seeing? Do you mean his hose’s low loss fitting? Actually I don’t even think those hoses have low loss. No clue what you think you were cookin on here but bro did his due diligence for this method.
      Evac crankcase method is faster feed, less strenuous but has a longer setup.
      But this was on point. 👌

    Shame no rubber gloves to deal with oil, thats bad. That thing goes to youre joints true skin. Atleast here at Finland we were taught never deal with oil witout gloves.
