Man! You're awesome. I was literally minutes away from placing this unit back into its box and selling it. Looking forward to future posts from you on the Boss GX100.
@@t.houston1011Cool, I’m hoping to do one this week that has some great ideas that I’ve been experimenting with in regards to additional pedal flexibility
The last page on both the reverb and delay has a “carryover” parameter. This needs to be on however the carryover will only occur if the same effect is saved in the patch that you’re switching to.. for example, if Patch A has the Delay+ active, but Patch B has just the normal Delay effect, you won’t get carryover.. they both need to be Delay+ or both a different type.. the settings can be different, but the block has to be the same.
@@tianjaythank you. Tried this just now but no luck. Still “simple delay in both patches” saved and carryover selected. Cuts out as soon as patch changed. Have you tried this and it worked?
In this video I am only using a single bank as that’s all i need to do a gig, the 4 presets provide me enough flexibility however i understand that this may not suit everyone so if you check out my Footswitch Flexibility vid, th-cam.com/video/a4hTep5tmps/w-d-xo.html, i provide an alternate solution, and then in the video below, i discuss another alternate method th-cam.com/video/mL6bhovvP9Y/w-d-xo.html.
The functionality you showed at 6.19 where you used to be able to change the bank up and down assignments for something else no longer works in firmware 2.2, there are some limited choices in control function, memory, tuner , amp control, a few others, but not for effects. If your on earlier firmware I would stay with it.
@tianjay thank you for confirming yours on 2.2 is working. I know 1 other person has the same issue as me and has a ticket open with Boss, thinking might have to do the same. Great videos and very helpful. Thanks.
for me, it depends on the situation and the type of gig… Sometimes I run directly into the PA and just monitor through in ears or a fold back wedge, and sometimes I run directly into a power amp and cabinet but i always use app and cabinet simulations from whatever pedal/device I’m using.
Hi! I wonder if it's possible to enter MANUAL mode by short pressing a CNTRL switch? As I saw in other videos, it's a long press by default, and it's not good for a live situation. On the GT1000 we can assign a short press for MANUAL and long press for TUNER. I wonder if it's possible on the GX? Thinking of getting it as a backup unit. My main rig is GT1000 and I love it. I appreciate if you check this for me. Have a good one!
@@tianjay Thanks for a quick response! Then it's great. I'll definitely consider this option. Sounds pretty much just as good as the big brother GT1000.
No, this video is just should foot pedal functions that can be set up using just patch (preset) mode but I’ve got more recent videos that combine both preset and manual mode.
Great and concise explanation. Very helpful 👍
Thank you.

Really? What in particular had you wanting to sell? What kind of content would you like to see?
@@tianjay Any additional posts will be helpful. The starter guide wasn't the best. There's definitely a learning curve with it.

This was just what I needed! You earned a subscriber!
Awesome, glad to help, thanks for the sub!
Thank you, that answered my question re assigning multiple (up to 20) functions to one footswitch
Glad it was helpful, cheers
Great vidi! How do you go about changing delay and reverbs effects blocks so they bleed/ roll off into next patch when switching between patches?

@@tianjayfigured it out. Entire effects block has to be identical, including amp types. Can just have them switched off. Otherwise, no go.
So how do you bank up/down if you have the bank up/down buttons assigned to switching effects?

I'm not sure why it's like this for you however I've just updated to 2.02 and this functionality hasn't changed. Maybe try running the update again?

When you play a gig do you normally go through the PA as opposed to an amp?
