Navy has been great for my nephew. He came from a relatively poor US Family. He entered right from High School. He worked his butt off and was first in his Sonar tech A-school. He has been all over Asia. He got his dolphins on an LA Attack sub in Guam. He spent 3yrs as enlisted on subs. He tested for the NAPS program and got into the US Naval academy. Class of 26. As a Navy veteran, I can honestly say that most sailors seemed surprisingly unmotivated. They constantly complained about even the simplest tasks, and I was shocked by how little work actually got done. I had high respect for the military before joining, but my experience changed that-it felt more like a joke. Many sailors spent most of their time in air-conditioned rooms playing video games, and the ship was often in poor condition. Surprisingly, some of the laziest people were among the officers and chiefs. Only a few roles, like culinary specialists, boatswain’s mates, and engineers, consistently worked hard. I had an easy role in interior communications as an electrician, but we rarely did any real electrical work; instead, we mostly just swapped out broken equipment for refurbished or new parts. Two years of electrician training felt like a waste. The USS Shiloh was dark, filthy, and depressing, and some people even resented me for simply doing my job because it made them look lazy. I can’t believe our tax dollars are funding such a complacent system.

@prettyboishah2898 I believe in your ability to succeed in whatever path you're passionate about. Talk with trusted friends and family before making such a life-changing decision. Electricians are essential to society and can earn great money. As for the military, my experience in the Navy felt like a fraternity environment, with some traditions involving intense and humiliating rituals, such as the shellback ceremony. These included invasive and degrading activities, which could also pose health risks. Some of the more extreme practices during the Navy's shellback ceremony involved: Spraying sailors with fire hoses. Forcing individuals to perform humiliating acts, such as inserting fingers into their own or others’ rectums. Crawling or moving in degrading positions through areas like berthing spaces. These rituals often pushed people to their physical and mental limits. In some cases, sailors fell seriously ill, including incidents of pneumonia, with one requiring evacuation due to inadequate medical care on board. After the torment, we were forced to stand before the captain and act as jesters, performing dances, singing songs, or telling jokes to entertain the crew.

1.) Traveling is true. The amount of traveling also depends on your rate. If you're in an Air Rate then your traveling experience doubles. 2.) Housing/Living is basically free. You can get your own apartment, but that will depend on what's going on. Like if you're state side for example you may get an apartment. If you're married they'll find housing for you. 3.) Depending on what ship you're on will depend on the quality of food. I was on an aircraft carrier and the food was garbage, but if you're on a base and/or overseas the food will compell you to slap your mother. 4.) The GI bill is circumstantial. If you don't get an honorable you won't qualify so do yourself a solid, suck up the suck and just do your time and get out. 5.) Shooting is also depending on your rate too. 6.) Depending on your rate will determine the amount of work you do. I was an ABE and all we did was work, sometimes it was just dumb work too, if you're an RP, or a PR for example the amount of work will be low so be careful on what rate you pick. 7.) Make the best of it. 8.) There are groups so make friends if you can. Your quals mean nothing on the outside of the Navy but in the Navy it can also determine how much respect you get, and I'm only saying that as an Abe

I do speak and understand the English language the problem was that I felt intimidated by their presence that when they would refer to me I would panic and lose focus easily.
The military is not for you my friend
@@rodolfomorenoiii135u should watch full metal jacket lol
@@rodolfomorenoiii135yea man I aint tryma be in the military there not gonna build you and give your confidence in yourself instead its on the goverment and your commander.

Question, do you workout like once bootcamp is done and they send you off to where ever, can you workout in any way, because I’m a 5’7 235 Mexican guy and I want to be able to change the way I look physically, I ask because I leave September 4th for bootcamp and I was thinking calisthenics would be helpful to workout with once bootcamp is done?
#1 Choose your rate, choose your fate🤷🏽♂️
i have a appointment with the recruiter in 7 hours
Yessirrrr im currently in Airforce dep ship out March 26th good luck bro
@@cybue04 i just got out of there office i passed the practice asvab with a 50
I hate being homeless over and over again so I kinda don’t have a choice but to join and I don’t like nursing
What do you mean about number 4 not getting an honorable you won’t qualify?
Did you have to get covid vaccinated?
i go to test tmr at the recruiter office and i want to join the navy but i want to go for combat what’s the different things i can do
Why do you live in japan is yhat a choice or did the navy bring you their ans its closer to your job
You work seven days a week with no days off ?
Sunday few hrs for worship
I ship out on the 20th
good luck
I feel like I could trust this guy.😂
Yooo bro, can I bring my civilian clothes to dress fresh?? I see you got the Jordan’s in the cut lol I’m trying to bring good clothes with me too. Lmk
Not to bootcamp. Absolutely not.
you can dress like that on your personal time after boot camp, which is more often than others think, for your case less than you think lol.
@@thelegitcheeze-it2595what was boot camp like
Yo I just realized you got hair. Do they not cut your hair?
Yea they cut it but I grew it back out
That’s only in basic training
oh gosh i thought he was going to lie to me until he said he wasn’t going to lie to me
Is that a room on a ship? (Decent regardless)
I will look into joining in 25 with 2 kids tho
word of advice for the younger ones.
feeling like squidward is normal and honestly its part of being an adult.
you may not like what you do or are just burned out but it goes away over time.
Im between choosing the navy or marines. I went to school for welding and i wanted to do it in the military
I’m kinda in the same boat, I plan on joining the navy or air force to learn the electrician trade. I hope things work out for you and better your future!
being in the navy is not complicated
Shii getting shipped out next month
Going on January
Can you make phone calls home?
You a GM on the Reagan? I was in g2 on the Reagan and Washington in Yokosuka
Nah I’m not a Gm and not on the Reagan
What is your rating?
@CantLoveKyriesVloggs lol, loved the video, i am a 20 year navy vet, retired 4 years ago... but not gonna lie to you... you say "not gonna lie to you" WAY to much :p on the bright side for such a young man your use of uhhh an umm was incredibly low. work on those 2 things and you will be awesome as a vlogger and your eventual navy tour as an instructor and/or recruiter! :D
thank you so much i will work on that and i appreciate the criticism
Are those JorDanS on the navy ship!!!!!!
Nah I’m in my room
Hate to break it to you but if you want ur kids to have access to your GI Bill benefits you gotta serve 10+ years
Ship life not worth the travel… I honestly regret serving. Got out in 2018
did you comission or enlist?
@@elijahbaker6196 i was enlisted
@elijahbaker6196 commissioned! That dude was an Admiral and shiiid 😂
You mind elaboration on that for a brother so I could have some more insight before making a final decision? Contemplating on joining Navy or Air Force and I’m leaning towards the Air Force but the traveling factor for navy has me thinking that could also be a nice experience but I see you don’t feel the same way lol
@@Djswagg0 yes so in the navy your not guaranteed a barracks room. Everyone gets a bed on the ship. So when I got to my first duty station all the barracks were filled up so I had to live on the ship 6 months until one opened up. Also you have to deal with a lot of negative people since you’re living so close to them. People have bad attitudes and stuff. Definitely I would of went air force or army. I regret my decision with the navy.
Alt main concern is taco Tuesday noted. 👏
I ship out may 20th as (AS)
Aye yall got like a game room or something with like a pool table and stuff like that?
Not in the barracks it’s at a place called the uso with games and movie theaters to
YOU PAY FOR EVERYTHING IN THE MILITARY EITHER ALREADY TAKEN OUT BEFORE YOU GET YOUR PAYCHECK OR SERVICE TIME🇺🇸💯
thanks for the video, can you smoke on the ship?
If you 🌈 and love stuff pillows the navy for you
You’re crying about being up at 630a? I’m up at 230-3a for my normal ass job.
Not complaining and we get up at one for watches and don’t get off til five we ain’t the same lol
😂😂😂
Can you record music if on a Navy ship?
Why don't you speak on the racism in the navy?
There's racism in the navy!?!? Are you in it right now? What about the other branches?
Bro how’s the women!!! 😂😂😂😂
Looks like you don’t have any privacy in the barrack. What if you wanted to bring a girl over?
awww... I heard ship, aka boat... sorry bro you chose poorly. You could have sailed the dirt, but chose the wet stuff...
Bro got no vocabulary, dudes like him is why you shouldn’t join the military
Dang bro, what about the airforce/spaceforce? Since those are the "smarter"/better branches to get into? Would you recommend the military?
you're not lying to me are you? 😂 jk bro ❤
The submarine is sucked please don't come to graton ct. Is the 2 in the suicidal base in the country
I was stationed there i almost offed myself, pls read bible it will help

Im already feeling like squidward at my job right now because nobody wants to work and I stay doing doubles sometimes triplets and sometimes I forget what day and date 📅 it is. Im in my 30’s early, I’m super fun, funny with the young folks I like these young people nowadays they think for me 👍👍👍 I’m sure working with the younger eager sailors won’t be bad it makes me happy to see younger folks working and staying on task I had a great time at Meps super fun time I was with the 18,19,20’s young people and I’m always with 40’s and up and I enjoy the younger crowd better! These old people act stuck in their ways, I learned so much from the younger generation at meps they taught me how to play Minecraft at the hotel and taught me about the jobs it’s unbelievable and fantastic I never judge any more keep up the good work and yes I know what you mean about the high school drama I always end it in a good way I know on January is gonna be a hit, thank you for this and great job on this and your journey I’m proud of you 👏 👍👏🔥
