    Disclamer: opinion. Hello everyone, i don’t think this is a good video to watch, if youre passionate abt it you do it for your country and yourself, i never wanted to benefit of the money or travel. Take it serious, i saw a dude write ’ive smashed so many chicks i lost count’ disgusting is all i have to say, you served your country to ’smash chicks?’ or smoke weed or travel or for the money. Please don’t make videos to engage ppl to do the same. i havent been in yet cause i’m not of age. My whole family has been in, my grandfather served all his years and was colonell, my fathers friend is rn in the us army still serving at highest rank. I also know a diver who has been in for over 30 years and another lieuthenant. The only thing you need for the military is discipline, thats what they all say, learn stuff and start early to train your mental and physicall health, don’t see it as a joke, it’s hard pure labour, youre born for it or not. It’s mentally and physically draining but to me it still seems like heaven, i wouldnt want my life any other way. Go big or go home, it’s not for the money.

      I respect your opinion but you have to remember, not everyone joins for the reasons YOU think they should. Some people use the military as a means of going to school because they can’t afford it, or to use the military as a stepping stone for something else they are passionate about (I’m included in this category). If the only people who joined the military were individuals who genuinely had a passion for it, the military population would be significantly smaller in size. Regardless of why they joined, the fact is they are still serving their country.
      Keep in mind, there are also PLENTY of people who join just for the benefits and then fall in love with the military and choose to stick around for a long time.

    I spent 4 years in. Fuck the military but I miss my boys…. It fucking sucks but the bonds you make are crazy. I’d recommend to most young men to join for 4 years and get out. It just gives you such amazing life skills. Basically guaranteed to get out and be a better person than before

    • @flightrue5794

      @@Wrathofreason I say F the military just because it can be extremely hard mentally. It makes relationships extremely difficult whether it be familial, romantic or platonic. And for some people in my experience it can drastically change your world view. Some people it’s for the better and some people it’s for worse. But I recommend it because it teaches such amazing lessons and just builds you into a proper man if you really go into it head first. And like my original comment said, the bonds you create with the brothers & sisters by your side are some of the best you can ever make and tend to be life long. I live on the other side of the country from my two best friends I had when I was in and any of us would drop any and everything if one needed help.

I think the benifits are worth it, but its not for everyone, I wouldn't recommend joining for the full 20 years and making it your career. Military ain’t that bad. I’m in the army with a support job. Overall the government is gonna take from you whatever they please. You need to find that motivation and take them benefits you get do something with it and have a plan for when you get out. Go to school, get them certifications, utilize the resources. Use it up every chance you get.
    I joined for school, because I don’t want to be in debt. A misconception is that you can’t go to school while you are in. You can especially depending on job, so choose a good job. But at the end of day, if you are motivated and determined then you can do it regardless of how hard. Get a degree or certification to use for when you leave even if it’s a job you don’t plan to do when you leave.

Most in college these days are just going through the routine and graduating with a 6 figure debt which will be stuck with them for a decade or more. Having to make a decision of what to major at the age of 18-19 is such a life altering decision at such a young age. Whereas in the military, a person can gain insight with life experiences and independence before deciding where they like to head. Please correct me if I’m wrong here. Thank you.

Commanders can go to bat for troops that are worth saving. I am sorry that you story in the AF ended that way. Go get an Airframe and Powerplant license. I appreciate it bro I’m shipping out August 20th for ammo, I appreciate the advice.
    Another quick question, how did you grow your hair out so long while in (I’m also African American)

    • @KongoSpeaks
      @KongoSpeaks  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +17

      Of course bro. Glad I could help!
      I grew my hair out long while in the military because the Air Force has very relaxed policies. There are certain hairstyle specifications that you must maintain while in uniform and if you read the uniform policy, there are certain loopholes you can use that will allow you to have long hair.
      But a lot of older people in the military don’t like people having longer hair while in uniform, so I was challenged almost on a daily basis. So I carried around the uniform policy to ensure that if a higher ranking individual ordered me to cut my hair, I could read the policy to them and refuse to follow that order because I wasn’t breaking any hair regulations.
      A lot of people don’t know what they’re talking about and they always think they’re right. So when you prove them wrong you might earn a reputation and people might start to dislike you for being a “rebel”. That’s a personal decision you have to make. Personally I didn’t give a fuck so I kept doing it anyway.
      Hope that answered your question bro.

    Super helpful video, Thank you

    • @KongoSpeaks
      @KongoSpeaks  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +17

      Of course. Thank you for watching.
      To answer your question, I believe the military offers great opportunities for women too. I know plenty of military women who have/had successful military careers. However as a woman, I think it’s important to consider extra (potential) negatives:
      1. Some jobs can be VERY physically demanding, making it much harder for some women to perform as well as their male coworkers. (However, there are plenty of jobs that aren’t physically demanding too.)
      2. Certain jobs can be mostly male dominated. (In my job there were 250 men and 4 women). A lot of dudes in the military are weirdos, sexist, and misogynistic, and will treat you differently because you’re a woman. (I’ve actually witnessed this as a man.) So if you wouldn’t feel comfortable being in a mostly male environment, make sure to research the job description of whatever you’re assigned before you sign the contract to join. These kinds of male dominated jobs tend to be the physically demanding jobs that I mentioned earlier.
      Again thank you for watching and commenting. And I hope this response was helpful.

I was thinking of doing Intel and planning, communications, or avionics in the Marines and thought to myself "wouldnt the airforce be better for more tech focused Mos's?". (92 on Asvab) I also heard the living quarters is way better than the Marines as well. Did 6 years infantry national guard . Whether it’s worth it depends on your viewpoint of life . If you just want to travel and make money it’s good , but you won’t spend much time with family. unless you’re married then you can relocate them with you but y’all will constantly move and you still won’t spend much time home . If you don’t retire with them/deploy or utilize the education benefits to establish a career for when you ets , then it is all for not . Though civilian jobs look at military experience as a plus , it doesn’t open the door to high paying jobs . Deploying gives you a monthly stipend after ets .
