I should get my ship out date this week and I’m cooked I laugh at just about everything
shipping on january 27🫡 thanks!!
Currently 25 with no idea what to do with my life, im thinking about joining the navy. am i too old to join ? & any advice if anyone out there is going through the same thing or similar situation as me would be very appreciated
I just turned 26 in 2024 November I’m currently getting my GED to go to the navy it’s not to late to do it I set my self back but I’m for sure I can change my future definitely worth it bro
@ i dont have my ged or high school diploma either but i was reading that the navy doesn’t require it anymore thats the only reason why im considering going cause like i said i have no idea what else to do at the moment. And maybe when i get out ill probably have more opportunities with a military background
@@Clippinshi honestly if you think you can get that 50 on the asvap do but definitely look in to getting your GED bub I was gonna score a 50 on the test but I want my ged I case I choose to get out and look for more and better options
I’m in the same shoes idk what to do with my life rn my brother and sister are in the military and they got out this shit down and in t better things definitely worth the risk to take brother but either way look In to getting your GED just takes a call around to see how to get started remember it’s a process and rises time not a over night thing
i was thinking about just joining reguardless since like i said they dont require anything but the 50 & then just try getting my ged while im serving for when i get out. Cause i know having a military background does open a few more doors especially with a ged atleast. Have you talked to a recruiter yet or no ?
what’s your job in the navy? im tryna join last 4 months of hs
Do you have any knowledge or opinions about HM?
could you be a seabee right now if you wanted to? or would you have to do a separate training ?
Is good what you do brother God bless you in your endevours 💙
Bro how’s the women!!! 😂😂😂😂
Shii getting shipped out next month
Thank you for your service, waiting on a waiver to sign as an AD hoping for the best !
I hate being homeless over and over again so I kinda don’t have a choice but to join and I don’t like nursing
Hows it going since u been in
how do you get your own living place if your in the navy? (sorry it might seem a dumb question im js curious tho)
Why do you live in japan is yhat a choice or did the navy bring you their ans its closer to your job
I’m 25 thinking joining for Seabees what do I need to do
im currently 25 as well bro jus turned 25 & im thinking about joining the navy jus bearly starting doing my research & i most likely will join this year
@@Clippinshi same here idk if 25 is to old
Got AC shipping January 14th
Nice I got AC, I ship out Feb 4
How would family life be would u still be able to travel
I will look into joining in 25 with 2 kids tho
Ngl I didn’t crank I didn’t do security & I only took the naval exam like once
Yo what’s up. Interested in joining but I have a couple questions. Do all MOS get on a ship and travel? Or do some stay on bases. I want to join and try to become an EM so that it can help me when I go back to civilian life. To your knowledge do you know if I’m going to be traveling? Or just stationary. Do you know if all EM’s go to Florida for AIT school? When you go abroad in the ships, does the ship park at a docking station so that you can walk around whenever you want?
or when you meet somewhere new does everyone have to go at the same time? Is it like certain days out of week or certain weeks out of the month that you can go and walk around. Can you get cars overseas from renting companies? You be meeting females even if it ain’t allowed? Where did you go after AIT school? Directly on a ship to travel? Is boot camp relatively easy or not really. But like asked before do you know if EM’s go on ships and travel like you guys? Whenever you can answer these questions I’d appreciate it bro I understand it’s a lot of questions but I’m extremely curious and interested. And also can you order things online and stuff like that? Like clothes or jewelry or clippers or nail clippers , mirrors. Yk things like that
A-School* like I said if you can answer at least some of these questions that’d be great bro. Thanks
Does your hair have to be cut
Hey, what's your mos?
I just scored a 32 on my asvab. I passed tho that’s all that matters
Ima abf leave Dec 17 i made 25 on asvab so I have to take it in boot camp
Im already feeling like squidward at my job right now because nobody wants to work and I stay doing doubles sometimes triplets and sometimes I forget what day and date 📅 it is. Im in my 30’s early, I’m super fun, funny with the young folks I like these young people nowadays they think for me 👍👍👍 I’m sure working with the younger eager sailors won’t be bad it makes me happy to see younger folks working and staying on task I had a great time at Meps super fun time I was with the 18,19,20’s young people and I’m always with 40’s and up and I enjoy the younger crowd better! These old people act stuck in their ways, I learned so much from the younger generation at meps they taught me how to play Minecraft at the hotel and taught me about the jobs it’s unbelievable and fantastic I never judge any more keep up the good work and yes I know what you mean about the high school drama I always end it in a good way I know on January is gonna be a hit, thank you for this and great job on this and your journey I’m proud of you 👏 👍👏🔥
Going on January
Can you make phone calls home?
Quick question how long back they run the drug test
I did 2 years in the Navy '73-74. Did boot at Great Lakes in the winter. Listening to this dude, things sure have changed.
thank uuu
do you do active duty and reserved
Active
What do you think about navy reserves? Do they teach you how to swim in boot camp!
If go there not knowing how to swim. They’ll teach you how to on your back
Yes they will teach you
What you know bout the navy divers? I done did my research just wanted yo opinion
Why don't you speak on the racism in the navy?
There's racism in the navy!?!? Are you in it right now? What about the other branches?
I leave to boot December 18 got a 66 on the ASVAB and I got the mms rate 🫡
BOY THEY GONNA ABUSE YO ASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS PICK A DIFFERRENT BRANCH
@@Duder-y5owhat you mean?
Lol I said fuck it and took my ASVAB and got a 49. Leaving this January 2025 if everything goes out well. Currently 20 and excited to head into this career.
Bro i picked my job last week and they got me shipping december 5th💀
Lol. 49 headass. Enjoy your sh1t rate you garbage-goober
@@lukkacct1675good luck bro I’m going to Meps Tuesday Wednesday got a 70 on my asvab but have yet to pick my job
Im right behind yall
What rate did you pick? I ship out at the end of the month
Navy is trash don’t join
Bro got no vocabulary, dudes like him is why you shouldn’t join the military
Dang bro, what about the airforce/spaceforce? Since those are the "smarter"/better branches to get into? Would you recommend the military?
Yk any ABF’S if so I need information on they’re experiences
No I don’t know any actual sorry that rate is maniley on aircraft carriers
Did they provide u with the room you’re in or do u gotta stay on the ship?
You can either stay on the ship or they will provide a barracks room but I pay out of poket for my house I’m in
What is your rate?
RS
Thank you for this video. My youngest son (19) leaves for boot camp in less than two weeks. Bitter sweet🥺
I have a question, do you go straight to your first base after AIT or do you have to go on leave before your first base station? And what’s the difference between the barracks and your first duty station or is that the same thing?
You can choose to take leave before you go to your command if you want to. the barracks is some where you live next to your command
Its the Navy... FFS you should be able to swim.... GO NAVY!
Which navy jobs are only 4years of service? i only wanna do those amount of years
Ngl there’s a lot of jobs that’s 4 years but there’s a lot of contracts that change each day
I just don’t want to lose what I’ve worked for here in the states. I’ve been on go since I was 17, having my own car. I’m into welding and I know the navy can make a gate way for that. But to start from scratch is something I can’t bare to do, having to rely on others to get by and being on someone else’s time 🙅🏾♂️
Honestly man it’s hard ngl but its a choice you have to make, and I know a lot of engineers that weld it’ll be hard to transition trust but as far as your stuff like a car and other things you should be able to keep just do your research and make your decision wish you the best
The navy is not all that cracked up to be. Ye'll do better in the states, college is 10x better than the military I was doing better before joining but if you not really broke I wouldn't join
Alright so I’m 6’5 do you think it’ll be hard for me to sleep in those things or?
How high we talking for this diving board??
I plan on enlisting before the end of this year. Im excited
As a Navy veteran, I can honestly say that most sailors seemed surprisingly unmotivated. They constantly complained about even the simplest tasks, and I was shocked by how little work actually got done. I had high respect for the military before joining, but my experience changed that-it felt more like a joke. Many sailors spent most of their time in air-conditioned rooms playing video games, and the ship was often in poor condition. Surprisingly, some of the laziest people were among the officers and chiefs. Only a few roles, like culinary specialists, boatswain’s mates, and engineers, consistently worked hard. I had an easy role in interior communications as an electrician, but we rarely did any real electrical work; instead, we mostly just swapped out broken equipment for refurbished or new parts. Two years of electrician training felt like a waste. The USS Shiloh was dark, filthy, and depressing, and some people even resented me for simply doing my job because it made them look lazy. I can’t believe our tax dollars are funding such a complacent system.
Uhh, so would you recommend the military? I recently finished a pre-apprenticeship multi-certification trade course under electrical. Essentially, it sets me up for a 4 year- apprenticeship. However, I've thought about joining the military because of travel & what not
@prettyboishah2898 I believe in your ability to succeed in whatever path you're passionate about. Talk with trusted friends and family before making such a life-changing decision. Electricians are essential to society and can earn great money. As for the military, my experience in the Navy felt like a fraternity environment, with some traditions involving intense and humiliating rituals, such as the shellback ceremony. These included invasive and degrading activities, which could also pose health risks. Some of the more extreme practices during the Navy's shellback ceremony involved: Spraying sailors with fire hoses. Forcing individuals to perform humiliating acts, such as inserting fingers into their own or others’ rectums. Crawling or moving in degrading positions through areas like berthing spaces. These rituals often pushed people to their physical and mental limits. In some cases, sailors fell seriously ill, including incidents of pneumonia, with one requiring evacuation due to inadequate medical care on board. After the torment, we were forced to stand before the captain and act as jesters, performing dances, singing songs, or telling jokes to entertain the crew.
