Yes! Just like the “sky” isn’t really “there” but is assembled and summed and perceived by choice and wrapped into a conscious dream of - sky.
It’s an inside job, seen only in the present moment.

I once had a thought, said it out loud, and the person it was aimed at came up to me, punched me in the face, knocked me flying and I ended up covered in blood on the ground
Knowing thoughts don’t exist is always tricky to me
I can see how it’s the actions that are usually the trouble, but thoughts are usually behind them 😊
You tube videos are sometimes about someone’s thoughts, and sometimes they have extremely consistent models of their ideas, the aim of which is often to help my thoughts be different, or to help explain my reality to me. A positive intention
So thoughts seem to be drivers for action, and transferable, and attractive enough to make me watch a video saying they don’t exist
    Thoughts are tricky!
I’ll watch more of them and see if that helps
    Thanks Mr Spira

Thoughts are only tricky because we give them such a high regard and contribute to them as part of our identity. What may or may not be trickier is detaching from thoughts. When we don't value a thought it vanishes rapidly. They are not essential to us.

@@TaxemicFanatic That’s a really useful comment for me, thank you. Oddly more helpful than the video; I must get emotional rebellion at the *being told* things don’t exist. A bit like sometimes we can get a passion to do something from being told we can’t by parents. For example ‘you’ll never be an athlete you’re too fat and lazy.’
I don’t usually have issue with thoughts not being ‘me’
But maybe my thoughts have an issue with my not being them!
      So helpful, thank you 🥰

It seems to me for the passionate men every thought is a very lovely for ego because thoughts justify passions (often negative, full of envy, resentment, sometimes hates and vindictiveness). There is no separate thought in the empty space of my mind but every thoughts are the elements of my frame of reference. If I want to change my thoughts I have to change my mind and destroy my usual frame of reference. In various spiritual traditions are offered to replace thoughts to mantra or pray, so when thoughts are appeared in mind seeker begin to repeat sacred mantra or short pray. It is the first step to become dispassionate, to clear your soul from worldly attachments and begin to think in divine manner.

Surely to experience thoughts and see things as a million different guises, yes there is only knowing in us, but that knowing knows many different thoughts and things. To have knowing must be so that we can know something. To see and know a million different things must be evidence of a million different things to know? I don't think I really heard that explained to my satisfaction.

Everything is born out of Nothing. And therefore, everything retains the qualities of nothing. Everything IS Nothing.
Form is born out of Spirit.
And therefore, it maintains the qualities of Spirit.
    Matter IS Spirit.
It cannot be treated just as matter.
The physical and the non-physical are one.
    There is no difference.
    It is all here.
    Nothing goes anywhere.
To connect more to the non-physical, the immaterial, the intangible m, the eternal qualities of oneself, a certain amount of dis-connection and dis-identification with form must occur.
    Darkness reveals light.
For day to even exist, night has to occur.
    Disconnection leads to connection.

    • @BEEaTREE
      @BEEaTREE หลายเดือนก่อน

Ultimately, the disconnection with form implies dis-identification with how we conceptualize form.
In other words, it's the concepts and the beliefs we have mentally constructed and attached to form that have distorted our purity of heart and replaced it with clinginess to ideas instead.

This is my concern. Infinite consciousness expresses through our finite "I" a separate state of "I am". Essentially we are an illusion, born from infinite consciousness. Then it would seem reasonable to assume that death would dissolve that illusory "I am", the individualism, the separatism that we identify as you and me. "You" and "I" would cease to exist. The infinite consciousness, like a kind of amoeba, absorbs or, dare I say "digests" us back into its infinite expanse.
Seems like a scam to me. Just saying. "Eat and be merry for tomorrow we die".

  • @chiptowers1
    @chiptowers1 หลายเดือนก่อน

More to the point, what is prompting the thought for you to experience a thought and for what purpose. I mean the subject has previously went through a mediation/meditaion mode with the so called teacher and the subject is lost in understanding and still cant say what thought he currently has. Here we go again with movie screen comparison and still the subject is none the wiser. I say none the wiser because the so teacher says " if you are experiencing thought", well when you experience something, that means you obtain wisdom, so where is the wisdom in just thought, there is none. For eg, your stomach is hungry, which sends a message to your physical brain via the ego tool that tells the mind of a thought that you are hungry to which you give thought to your favourite food to eat, so , where is the wisdom in that food experience. All you know is that you will be eating your favourite food. The so called teacher has just made a mug of the subject with hocus-pocus mumbo-jumbo, now thats a double banger.
There is always an "it" because you have previously known "it" before your current thought of the "it' and to add to that, your are always "it" prompting the thought of " it" you previously experienced. hello!
There is never only consciousness, because reality couldn't care less what your state of consciousness is nor what you perceive, more so, consciousness was not there prior nor during nor after the inception of your lineage when it Formed. Consciuosness is just a tool implemented for awareness but fleeting,ie you can lose consciousness but your physical brain will always be prompted by a thought.
All teachers and guru's attempt to attach reality to consciousness to justify what they say to fit.

Thoughts are electromagnetic energy. The same as everything else. Thoughts follow attachments. Thoughts and dreams show what you are attached to. This is where surrender or detachment from the world is critical. Detach from the world and thoughts and dreams disappear. The explanation in this presentation has no substance or meaning. It serves only to confuse because it again points to a consciousness only model which is absurd. Surrender and realize true peace. Let go of your interests of the world and the world moves away from you. That is, the world created by your mind. What appears in its place is reality. The real world. Without surrender, a quiet mind is impossible.

@@LN-fj5gg Is that your expectation of Rupert? Maharshi felt the need to write a book. Isn’t it a basic function of life? To communicate? Even if you are totally detached from the world, thoughts still do percolate from that very state of being. There is this preconceived idea of what a spiritual person is and how they “should” behave. What they “would” say if they were enlightened. The problem is, the folks presenting this material are in actuality, experts in dogma, but have no presence in reality. If you watch this long enough, say over 50 years, it eventually dawns on you what is going on and what reality actually is. That is called maturity. Why is it that so many are so quickly willing to dismiss independent thought? Who actually is an expert in anything? Galileo was imprisoned for simply pointing out that the earth revolved around the sun. The “experts” of that day insisted the earth was flat. I am no Galileo, but I do hold a degree in the sciences and have followed spiritual teachings for a long time. Eventually, you realize a few things taught as inconsistent with experience.
