Whether you prefer the UK or US office all just depends on your comedic taste I guess. I personally prefer the more subtle comedy of the UK version to the more loud in your face gags of the US. Plus I just find Ricky’s comedy acting in general hilarious.
I prefer to call it "The original Office" rather than the UK one. 'Cos that's what it is. A sublime show distilled into two series and a special. Unlike hundreds of episodes flogging a dying horse like what happened to the US version. And I love both. But they're very different shows. One has a level of gritty realism and one is a US sitcom.
When the Uk offfice came out some people thought it was a documentary. I don't like the US version myself. The cringiness based on reality of Ricky Gervais is painfully amazing.
The level of cringe that Ricky creates in the UK office is off the charts, he loves to have moments of silence and little looks that make it even more cringe and David Brent as the terrible manager that thinks he's popular and funny whilst his subordinates just about tolerate him because they have to!
UJ OfficeL2 Seasons + Christmas Specials and out AT THE TOP. In Ricky and Steve's (Merchant) case, they went on to make "Extras" and, once again, 2 Series + and that was it! Much of this show is about David Brent's expressions so if you glance away then you miss it:) ENJOY..
The office uk beats the us version by miles. As the series goes on you'll see a tall weird looking bloke with glasses, thats stephen merchants dad....and the girl who plays Dawn, is the daughter of comedian..jasper Carrott.
its actually just called the office because its the original one that ricky wrote and produced himself, The office US you have to specify US because its a rip off of the original in the earlier episodes then they eventually americanise it when they brighten the lights add more seasons and episodes to capitalise on it to finish off with a happy ending, same thing as the inbetweeners vs the inbetweeners us, it starts as a rip off then it eventually deviates into its own thing. theres definitely a pattern of taking amazing original british shows and adapting them it urks me because you should give credit where credit is due
There is no "better"... US was 8 seasons and tons of episodes, UK was 2 short seasons and a special, basically written to tell the Tim/Dawn love story. Totally different shows.
This show was great for its cringey British satire and also it really captures the feeling of being trapped in an office with an annoying boss and people who don't really want to be there which most of the time is exactly what it's like
It makes you cringe and laugh simultaneously; far more subtle - naturally - than the US version. As for 'fuck the BBC' ......it is the best broadcaster in the world, still.

Can you get onto bbc I player as they had the full series on there recently and don’t think it was censored on there. You might need to do via a VPN as not sure it will be accessible via normal internet in the USA. Think the comedy is just very different, it’s almost cringe worthy in the UK, very self deprecating and even Tim who is arguably the protagonist is still very much a loser.

US office is most definitely not better than the original UK version, FACT!
This show is perfect. The two specials tie everything up so well.
The UK Office is the one to watch first,

100% correct
👏👏👏👏
Outtakes involving the guy that Brent called 'mental' (beard and glasses guy in accounts) are absolutely amazing.

You have to watch more. As you get to know Brent it's gets funnier and funnier. The outtakes are hilairiuos.
God I loved The Office when it was on. Gervais is brilliant in it.
These UK Office are supposed to be 30 mins long so it's an edited down version.
Full versions are on patreon. In order for us to upload it successfully on TH-cam, it has to be edited down to less than 15 minutes

Brilliant so glad your reacting to this!! Watched when it was first on. Great show!! I prefer the UK one to USA one.
Swearing isn't bleeped in the actual show, it'll just be whatever version you're watching, I assume on TH-cam, that's bleeped
Only Americans think the US Office was better than the original.
You should do the outtakes of this they are hilarious!
The Office USA version the best 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
is it f00k
it's easy to copy something that already works if you have 1000 times more money
Yes it's simplified for unsophisticated minds. Sanitised and pureed so it's easier to digest.
Rikki created the U.S. version as well.
'the better'.......

The Outtakes are so funny, some of the best i've seen, react to them if you can 👍
There is a in credit small clip in each episode, so don’t cut it short too early.
Watch Derrick. Its so well done and hilarious
Your audio made me feel like I was having a stroke
Apologies. It has to be heavily edited and sped up to avoid TH-cam copyright. The BBC is strict
I like the office but I can't watch US the office
It makes you cringe and laugh simultaneously; far more subtle - naturally - than the US version. As for 'fuck the BBC' ......it is the best broadcaster in the world, still.
I'm guessing the swear words were taken out for american audience 🤨
Haha not quite. The office is HEAVILY copyrighted by TH-cam and we have to really water it down to be able to get it up
