I stopped playing two years ago because all pvp encounters were either me punching a half-afk baby or being demolished by a galleon, there was literally no way to become better at pvp aside from spending way too much time server-hopping looking for a bite your size. It was after they removed the areana but before they introduced the new pvp-on-demand sandglass. Now this issue appears to be fixed, but I haven't played much to test it properly.

I agree. I didn't even look at the subs or consider subscribing because I assumed he had more subscribers and one more isn't gonna help. But it is just because of how professional he sounds and how clean the video was.
This game is definitely worth playing still. It’s my personal favorite game all time because of how unique each play session can be. That being said, I’ve also been playing since launch and for new players, there is quite the considerable knowledge and skill gap to overcome vs veteran pirates. If you’re okay with losing occasionally and learning some hard lessons along the way, this game can be extremely rewarding and satisfying to play. There’s not many better feelings out there in gaming than using your teamwork (or solo skill) to sink an enemy ship.

Great video. What you said at 10:44 is wrong though as this literally happened to me. I'm a new ps5 player and I've been getting slapped up by sweats. A guy was hiding in my ship for 20 min then he came out acting friendly and said he would help me with my quest. We passed by another ship on the way and he jumped off mine and said he was gonna go catch a ride with them instead. said nice to meet you, good luck, etc. 20 sec later he sniped me in my head when I was standing at my map table. You should trust absolutely no one in this game, even if they appear friendly.
The game is called sea of thievs for a reason, even if you have an alliance with someone, just never let your guard down, that's why you should always play with a crewmate, either a friend or someone in open crew, I met a lot of fun people in open crew
About the pirates of the carribian and Monkey island. They dont take you out of the sea of thieves world. Both take part in the Sea of the Damned, even the monkey island part is in a illusion like memory space in the sea of the damned. Its complicated but its explained in the lore.
Me and my discord friends just picked this game up and the new player experience is really solid tbh. Just wish they had a new tutorial for all the small features that you'd have to learn on your own, complex movement, adding friends, etc.
Yeah, it doesn’t hold your hand at all. I do have a 45 min tutorial covering literally everything if you need it th-cam.com/video/BeJtYe8fHTs/w-d-xo.html
I'm just glad I can finally play again. For some reason, on my PC when I played, certain things would break my game or just not work. If I used a trident, my game crashed. Voice chat in game wouldn't work for me very often, so I couldn't communicate with anyone, since I use a half keyboard for SoT exclusively (set up for loot running, SoT was also one of the 1st games I got back in season 5, so I was easing into a full keyboard transition from PS4). Couldn't eat or spyglass either. Thankfully, that hasn't been an issue for me lately! It's always fun to run into new players and help them, instead of sink them. It'd been so long since I'd played, I don't even know when a second stovetop was added to the ships lol.
Been these since day 1. Never really left. Just didn't play it sometime if I didn't feel like it. Has never been more than 1 month though before I returned.
jack it's ranga if you remember, i literally got back into sot a week ago and grinding so much hourglass, games definitely back! also huge to see the channel doing so well i remember subbing at 1 sub
I’m very thankful SoT released on the PS5, it’s a smart decision. I began playing the game as soon as it released on ps5 and I’m obsessed with game, enjoying all the different experiences the game provides. And you’re right!! You can’t _really_ plan your voyages, too many other variables you can’t account for. Last night I was slooping with another random and we took out a grade 5 reaper ship! That was huge for me and when they sunk, it was exhilarating ah! I’m getting a little bit better at pvp by the day. Well done on the vid!!
I play SOT to relax and also not have a “pay to win.” A reason I also play Rocket League. I’m getting too old to sweat games and SOT is a fun time with my friends. It could be sweaty or relaxing but either way it’s a good time
Back at launch it was on Xbox Games Pass (I already had Games Pass for State of Decay 2). I'd usually skip out on "pirate games", but as I had Games Pass, gave it a go. I've had (and continue to have) great fun on the game. Mainly solo, but with crew from time to time. And everyone forgets... there wasn't even a Brigantine at launch!
I’ve been waiting for it to come to PlayStation for a few years. And now that it has, I’ve been enjoying it a lot. I can only play alone, so there’s a fairly steep learning curve for solo players. But once you get the hang of multitasking, it’s really fun! Then again, all I do is take buried treasure maps from the job board lol so I dunno. I’m having fun
Holy crap, i thought you were at least at a couple hundred thousand subs but you haven't even hit 1000, you seem like such a big youtuber and im gonna sub so i can watch when you blow up, keep doing what you're doing and happy sailing everyone
My teenage son and I have been playing this game together for years. I do the sailing and he does the board, anchor, and killing anyone who shows aggression while I escape with the loot.
"I'll just do this one last thing" turned into my brother and I doing legend of the veil all night long the other night until about 5:30 in the morning
I wanted to play the game back when I saw SMi7Y play it but I didn’t own a Xbox or pc. I was really happy when they launched it on the PlayStation it’s so much fun
I played at launch and got bored with it cause like you mentioned it didn’t offer very much but I just started playing again and it’s been so fun and I’ll be playing for awhile
Can we highlight the fact that the game is 120GB on PC, one reason I can never get more PC players on is the sheer size of of the game compared to the console version
as someone who played the OG they just made the game better; tons of quality of life additions and more added to the core sandbox in this season if they keep their focus on just how fun the core gameplay can be over flashy collabs (dont get me wrong, SoT has some of the highest quality collab content), it's only going to continue to grow
i got the game because i just like its stile, i always wanted to play, never got the good comuptor for it till recently, i was looking through the internet for a game simmiler, found some, never got me the charm that i saw on youtube, when i got it, my expectations were blown, im terrible, but its fun i will say that, its a bit like tf2, there is nothing just the same that gives the same fun, for me, this game will never die

But trash people make trash experiences for others, and 1v4 is trashy at best. But they'll always be sure to tell you theirs is "a valid playing style!"
I'm loving this game hit pirate legend Saturday and got Athena to lvl 34 thanks to the gilded voyages
GRIND TIME
Great video.
SoT has LORE NOW!?
Me and my discord friends just picked this game up and the new player experience is really solid tbh. Just wish they had a new tutorial for all the small features that you'd have to learn on your own, complex movement, adding friends, etc.
Yeah, it doesn’t hold your hand at all.
I do have a 45 min tutorial covering literally everything if you need it

Learning is the best part
I just got an XBox Series X today…Sea of Thieves is the game I’m looking forward to playing the most
You popped up on my recommended keep grinding man great vid.
jack it's ranga if you remember, i literally got back into sot a week ago and grinding so much hourglass, games definitely back! also huge to see the channel doing so well i remember subbing at 1 sub
Let’s gooooooo!
Gotta get you in the guild

Amazing video, i am subscribing
I’m very thankful SoT released on the PS5, it’s a smart decision. I began playing the game as soon as it released on ps5 and I’m obsessed with game, enjoying all the different experiences the game provides. And you’re right!! You can’t _really_ plan your voyages, too many other variables you can’t account for.
Last night I was slooping with another random and we took out a grade 5 reaper ship! That was huge for me and when they sunk, it was exhilarating ah! I’m getting a little bit better at pvp by the day.
Well done on the vid!!
Remember how well that emergent gameplay worked for F76?
I play SOT to relax and also not have a “pay to win.” A reason I also play Rocket League. I’m getting too old to sweat games and SOT is a fun time with my friends. It could be sweaty or relaxing but either way it’s a good time
About 3 hours in, on ps. Absolutely loving it. Also I remember seeing this game on release, it was never presented as a AAA game
have so many good memories on this game man. Cant wait to hop on with the gang after exams🔥
Facts bro 💯 ❤
Me and a couple of my boys just got this game and are lovin it
Back at launch it was on Xbox Games Pass (I already had Games Pass for State of Decay 2).
Doesn’t matter how u play as long as ur having fun!
Well made video brother. Under 1k subs is sad. Underated creator!! Have my sub.
high quality content, you deserve way more subs
I'm the only person in my friend group who plays solo. I am a very paranoid solo player.
always welcome to jump into my discord! invite: discord.gg/Jackbuzza
Holy crap, i thought you were at least at a couple hundred thousand subs but you haven't even hit 1000, you seem like such a big youtuber and im gonna sub so i can watch when you blow up, keep doing what you're doing and happy sailing everyone
Recently came back to the game and I can say I forgot how much fun it was
I was a kraken pest controller when this game first came out, now I hardly see them.
solid video dude getting the recognition you deserve i hope i can make videos like this one soon.
Definitely earned my sub 🔥 loved the video brother, keep this up!
My teenage son and I have been playing this game together for years. I do the sailing and he does the board, anchor, and killing anyone who shows aggression while I escape with the loot.
Keep up this kind of quality content and you'll be big in no time im sure!
"I'll just do this one last thing" turned into my brother and I doing legend of the veil all night long the other night until about 5:30 in the morning
felt like I was watching a channel with 1m+ subs good stuff man
I wanted to play the game back when I saw SMi7Y play it but I didn’t own a Xbox or pc. I was really happy when they launched it on the PlayStation it’s so much fun
You have a good future ahead of you my friend
I played at launch and got bored with it cause like you mentioned it didn’t offer very much but I just started playing again and it’s been so fun and I’ll be playing for awhile
Such a underrated channel :/ you seem like a 40k-.100k youtuber cant belive you have under 1k
Just relized why he didnt talk about the anti-cheat
what anti-cheat? LMAO
@@JackYaps sot anti-cheat is relative bad :(
Great video subbed
Im thinking of coming back to sea of thieves but I think im going to wait for the man o' war update
That looks interesting ngl
Rare should add some cameos from the older games ( Banjo/Kazooie and Conker?)
They’ve got some Banjo and Kazooie ship items but no tall tales, they would make fantastic tall tales
I just got back on to do all the tall tails pretty fun so far
Can we highlight the fact that the game is 120GB on PC, one reason I can never get more PC players on is the sheer size of of the game compared to the console version
Dude, I thought u had a way bigger fanbase. This video is so well made..
Video has good quality good job!
glad you think so :D
I just tried this game today out of curiosity and haven’t been able to get off it all day
It has that effect haha
Love how i have over 1000 hours on the game yet i watched the whole video, great job
"No one can tell you how to properly play Sea of Thieves" - The sweat lord community when safer seas came out - "HOLD MY BEER".
10:43 This statement aged poorly...
as someone who played the OG
they just made the game better; tons of quality of life additions and more added to the core sandbox in this season
if they keep their focus on just how fun the core gameplay can be over flashy collabs (dont get me wrong, SoT has some of the highest quality collab content), it's only going to continue to grow
i got the game because i just like its stile, i always wanted to play, never got the good comuptor for it till recently, i was looking through the internet for a game simmiler, found some, never got me the charm that i saw on youtube, when i got it, my expectations were blown, im terrible, but its fun i will say that, its a bit like tf2, there is nothing just the same that gives the same fun, for me, this game will never die
8:32 Pains me to see chain shots left behind lol
This game is timeless, it’s truly a fun game to come back every few months with a lot of team coordination
Still hope they bring a fleet system to guilds
