@@DavidZ4-gg3dm Not necessarily. She has a strong network of friends and family. We have seen what little snotbags Jenny, Tina, and a few others are. The show definitely doesn't take a Pollyanna view of anything, but there's nothing wrong with positive portrayals; they're every bit as realistic as negative ones.
I love how they don’t tease Orla for being different and accept her for who she is
That and defend her like when she was doing step aerobics for the talent show.
That's why the series one finale is so beautiful. They join her onstage as one, completely accepting her for who she is and sharing in her joy.
@@user-jl8yn7og7b the ending of that episode is one of the best ending to a season I have ever seen the girls dancing, the parents devastated by the bombing and dreams by the cranberries starts playing uhh 😢
No-one would accept her bringing her grandfather as her prom date; that'd get her ridiculed harshly.

I like Clare. She is permanently on the verge of hysteria. I don't know how the other girls aren't doubled over with laughter all of the time. Brilliantly acted by the way. First class.

A friend just introduced me to this show, and I binged it. At first I thought Orla was some kind of psychological bully because of the who diary for a book report thing. No, she just doesn't understand why anyone should care.
"Lion with wee tiny sausage dog legs" dream moment literally had me in tears when I first saw it! Orla is one "special" wee lady! :-D
How can you leave out the scene where she says “I love lezzie huntin’” the way she says it is just so perfect!
