    Nadia Comaneci vehemently defend the Karolyis but then she is from a different culture and a different time. It is well documented that she had a serious eating disorder during that time, gaining and losing 40 pounds during that time period. EVERYONE struggled under them.

    You can't really just blame the Karoly's as there were other coaches there. Anyone of them could have stood up and said enough or gone to the press. Youth sports needs to find a healthy balance between athlete wellbeing which should always come first and competition.
