What a great start to Sunday! Mountains are such beautiful things, aren't they? I appreciate all The Hobbit and LOTR references. Maybe the Grizzly Bear was Beorn! Should do a rendition of "Far Over Misty Mountains Cold". And of course we find the bookstores wherever we go! Thanks for another day-brightening episode!

It is so lovely that you are able to share these amazing experiences with someone you love. Back here in India, being in relationships before marriage is such a social stigma no matter how old you are. It makes me so sad that pleasures as simple as sharing a home or a vacation with your partner are SO HARD to experience here.

As a Saskatchewanian who sees magpies on a daily basis and who visits Banff yearly it is refreshing to see these things from the perspective of someone experiencing them for the first time. It reminds me to appreciate them more. Thank you. :) Also, "Tisane" is French for "herbal tea." That drink is a tea-based beverage, which is why it is called that. :)

Oh my DAYS I absolutely lost it when I read “first time seeing a magpie” - where I live I see them pretty much everyday. Silly but my Ma brought me up to always habitually greet them, “Morning Mr Magpie; how’re your wife and children?” for good luck hehe! They’re just the most wonderful bird to me. So happy for you that you finally got to meet one. Beautiful birds and a beautiful place! 😍

I used to go to Colorado every summer growing up, and the service workers there were almost always from outside the US. I think it’s typical in a lot of other countries for young people to live in North America for the summers in places like the Rockies. LOL Re the NZ comment - Its called the OE or overseas experience, Every Kiwi from NZ, travels to Canada (same british common wealth) and gets a work visa and works in Banff or Alberta or BC for a season. THat is why its is so easy to get seasonal work visas. After they have done some work, experienced another culture, they do some more traveling - often to USA or Europe before going back home, settling down, getting married and start the family. My sister did her OE in the early 1980s - she met her kiwi spouse on his OE in England. They got married in NZ in 1986. Her daughter (my niece) did her OE back in 2018. She worked at Whistler for 6 months, and then came to visit me in Toronto, before flying back to NZ. The niece is now engaged but not married yet. It is a very cultural thing for young adults from NZ to do. Go see the world after school before getting married, Partly to do with NZ being so isolated. Traveling to Australia does not count as the OE because that is just a 3 hour flight away - not a 24 hour flight. I know this because I am from NZ - but I emigrated to Canada after marrying my Canadian spouse. I have been here for 20+ years now.
WOW some of those mountain views are amazing!!! You did really great with your hiking despite not having climbed any mountains before!!!! Wonderful Vlog!!

If you love mountains then you should definitely visit Nepal cause it is filled with mountains and the worlds tallest mountain, Mt.Everest also lies there and trust me it is worth it, the mountains are so pretty there
