So funny, i think as the race gets on it gets quieter for sure as you enter your own world of suffering! Very late to reply as just watched this back but Audree congrat's on the top 50, stellar achievement, but more so for finishing in the top 1/3 of the field given that over 90% of entries are male at UTMB, 2022 being no exception. People watching this might not realise this factor. Great effort all round hope you guys stay injury free. All the best from UK and Chamonix.
Audree, I feel your emotion at that start line. I’m 55yrs, male and though I’ve only ran 4 marathons, each one I have shed a tear at the start line. For now all the training is for this start line, all the hard runs, the pain, the blisters, the self doubt, the tiredness & hunger. It’s an emotional time. So for all those runners out there, whether it’s 5km or 200km, well done for getting to that line Ps Jeff, I really really enjoyed this episode. Brilliantly made. Well done.
"with the right mix of endorphins in your brain, sugar in your bloodstream, and sometimes a little caffeine, you find yourself in a float state where time both speeds up and slows down"... 👏👏👏👏 what a beautiful way of describing those feel good moments in an ultra
*"flow state" -- Named by the psychologist Mihály Csíkszentmihályi in 1975, the concept has been widely referred to across a variety of fields (wikipedia)
I agree, this was beautifully captured in the imagery and music. I could feel it was special before you described it. That moment must have been so magic
I’m in awe of you and everyone else taking part in this. Not sure why this popped up in my feed, but I’m sure glad it did and I ended up fixed to my screen till the end. Bravo Jeff and Audrey! 🎉
Hi Jeff and Audree, I would like to thank you so much for your UTMB videos. I successfully completed the loop (UTamB 2024) in 39:19. I watched your race video so many times and also your gear prep videos and the fast pack one. I picked up many great tips and perspectives from it. I was traveling from Australia so had no experience in the alpine terrain, again your videos really helped me to visualise what the course would be like. I see you are currently running in my home country, Ireland, I hope you enjoy it and that that weather stays good for you both. Thanks again for producing such great content.
Thanks to you both for carrying extra gear just for sharing this experience with the rest of us! So very glad you released it as one video, as it gives a great feel for what an ultra like UTMB is actually like.
TV quality beats everything I have seen on Netflix, BBC, HBO etc in the last month, I love it. I love Audree description," lots of people suffering together in solitude in a stunning place". Awesome work.
Thanks, Audree, for allowing Jeff to capture your beautiful display of emotions at the starting line. I can't imagine standing there with such a monumental task ahead and not feeling overwhelmed, and massively proud, in some way. It was one of my favourite parts of the entire film. I'm curious what you were feeling in that moment?
Thanks Alexandra :) it was a mix of nervousness and happiness. it was overwhelming standing there with all the other people who have worked so hard just to get there!
I choked up watching the start. I always get a bit emotional at the start of my own races. Something about the collective energy and sharing a special effort with people. I’m always blown away by the support along the way too, that catches me off guard sometimes too. I’m aiming for Utmb 2025. Love you guys from 🇬🇧
Fantastic way to get a good impression about what is doing the UTMB. Made me remeber some places i walked while trekking in the Gr5 and the Chamonix Zermatt
The COWS 😂 When they all started to rush out of the trees, I lost it. Great video, amazing quality, thanks so much to both of you for sharing your experience.
It was some time ago, but congrats to both of you for such an achievment, inspiring video and perfect to immerse and have a glimpse at the race! Cheers
I always enjoy the long race videos showing both Jeff and Audree. two different racers. two different experiences. amazing editing making it all make sense and easy to follow.
Jeff - "Want to run with me " Man - "I can't " , that there typifies the connection and respect Ultra runners have for each other. Jeff and Audrey, thank you for making the huge effort to document this experience so many of "our" dreams can be extra motivated and the reality of what is ahead remains real. Awesome job by you both. Magnifique.
You should definetely come to the Romanian Bucegi and Fagaras mountains. You`ll find similar areas to this and also to the Switzerland mountains. Top video once again!
Great seeing all your high fives to the children along the route. Definitely puts a smile on their faces, and must in turn put a smile on your face, that gives a lot of great energy.
My friends and I did this trek two years ago. Each year we go on an international hiking trip and this one was hands down the most rewarding. Absolutely stunning/challenging/surreal/life changing journey. I highly recommend everyone who loves adventure to do this!
Absolutely incredible. The crowds and volunteers were amazing! Those poor cows had NO idea what was going on… or their shepherd! 😂 Congrats to you both!
I rarely comment, but this was so much fun to watch (my treat during finals). I actually met a woman about 7 years ago in Chamonix that was preparing for this race. I was young and it blew my mind that people could run that much! It really inspired me to be more in shape. I now run regularly and I'm planning on training for an ultramarathon in the next year or so! (fellow Canadian from Qc too!)
I'm not really someone who comments much on TH-cam, but I get the feeling that you are reading them all, so I had to let you know that this was so good. Much more than just entertaining... it was moving and inspiring. Thanks for taking us along on your journey.
THe perfect quote has to be Audrey's " just a bunch of strangers suffering together in a stunning place". I have walked the TMB twice and am still enchanted by it :) Thank you for taking us along
What an incredible running film! How do we nominate this for an award? Love the emotion you captured, those incredible views (so good you fast-packed those night sections so you could see it in daylight), and the highs and lows of running this iconic 100-mile (ish) race! Thank you for being so honest as you shared your raw emotion. The music was perfect, too! Loved seeing Audree’s race experience, too. I also enjoyed seeing other well-known running TH-camrs featured in your video and learning that you follow them, too! Audree, you are definitely not a slow runner-top 50 females is amazing! You might need to get your own channel, girl. I know someone who can help you with the editing and production. ;)
What an incredible documentary. The energy and motivation it takes to get the camera out when you are in a dark dark place is amazing. You are both absolute weapons.
This is the video that inspired me to start running last year. I ran two half marathons by now, and next year I'll start trail running. Sometimes I just come back here to re-live the emotions of the first time I saw it, honestly it gets me each single time. Thank you Jeff and Audrée for showing how beatiful this sport is. Hopefully I'll meet you out there someday!
What a superb film you've made. So well shot, narrated and paced in the edit! I felt completely engaged through the double stories of you and Audree, the people you met on the way, the interesting and informative anecdotes about the race and the beautiful interludes of the majestic scenery - especially those coupled with soft ambient music, such as the one around 39:00. It almost brought a tear to my eye. It's a great unique format you've managed to create for sharing these kinds of adventures, I think. Well done and thanks so much for sharing!
An epic report and also the best YT ultra running channel around. So much quality work put into it, thank you Jeff and Audrey! After two months in bed with a broken ankle this is what I needed to see :)
I really wasn't expecting to watching this all the way through since I have the attention span of a gnat on TH-cam, but I found myself totally engrossed for the full time. Amazingly inspiring and super-human effort from both of you!
I don't know what to say that would be different than what anybody else has said, but it wouldn't be fair to the both of you to not say something as a show of appreciation for the stories you have told and the production value you brought. Gratitude from a fellow Canadian!
Fantastic video :) found you from one of Ben Parkes videos a while ago....then spotted him and Sarah in your video 😂. Fantastic footage and amazingly well put together.
Wow fantastic, amazing, thank you very much!!!!!! … Let me tell you, I am Carlos from Barcelona, I saw your MTB training video and I immediately grabbed the idea of doing it walking, with my girlfriend…we already have the tickets for August 2023 and we are reserving shelters. again thank you very much! … many congratulations to you and Audree!
Qué GRAN VÍDEO y muchas gracias por contar conmigo. Cada uno tendrá sus motivos pero lo que es incuestionable que hemos tomado la mejor decisión de nuestras vidas.
Dear Audree, Dear Jeff, first of all congrats on your accomplishment! It must be a very challenging race!!💪 And then what a film!! No words, all the previous commentators said it all! I fully respect what you are both doing and what you are sharing with us!!! Excellent, always be healthy & with big smiles on your faces even at your most difficult times!🙏
I didn't know the channel, but so happy this ended up in my recommendations. This insane documentary (which is the proper word for this fantastic 90m video) is so well done. Congratulations! It kept me grounded from the first second till the last moment, and I was very emotional in two moments: when you start and Audrée emotions + both moments when you both end the race. You got a new sub here. Congrats, and very well done again!
Just got really addicted to running, just discovered your channel. I’ve watched this video twice and cried a couple times throughout both times LOL awesome video and such a beautiful area. Really reminds me that I need start traveling more and not be so distracted by work. Anyways beautiful video all the best to you both
Dear Audrée, Dear Jeff, Thank you very much for your great documentation. One of the best and realistic documentary about the UTMB I have ever seen. The incredible excitement at the beginning, the euphoria in the first hours, the community of runners, the beauty of nature, the pain of the climbs and descents in the almost endless kilometers, the bliss with the total exhaustion at the finish. All this you let the viewer of your great documentary feel. Many thanks for it. 🙏 With my almost 49 years and only 15 kilometers of running per week, the UTMB stands as an almost unattainable dream goal.
Jeff you produced an awesome documentary!! Bravo much appreciated ! I really enjoyed it. My fav part was watching Audrée face the struggles, doubts and overcome her difficulties to still endure and finish her race with her inner doubts and the course in what I see as a great finishing time ! Bravo Audrée no acting, all real life and awesome to watch you endure !! Ty Jeff for producing such a great documentary . I'm going to do the TMB in Sept (not the race) I hope I can stand up to the challenge like you two did !!
It is, by far, the best video about UTMB. This way we can have the perception of the course, through the eyes of a man and also a woman. I'll save it in my "favorites" to remember, over and over, later. Thank you and congratulations to both.
Thank you for this. I'm in the middle of a really low place in my short running life (8 years ago today I ran my first marathon). I live by "do hard things where you aren't guaranteed success," but lately I've felt like a fraud. I even pulled back from a 50 miler I was supposed to d o this weekend because I was scared of failing after a terrible 50k. You guys have helped to inspire me to gut things out and make some changes. Who knows - maybe UTMB before I'm 50.
Wow!! What an accomplishment for both you and Audree. I had been eagerly anticipating this video and it did not disappoint, it was an inspiration from beginning to end and you beautifully captured all the feelings. Congratulations!!
Once again Jeff, amazing quality. I do hope your channel grows because you are so talented. Love that you spoke with Run4Adventure. Audrée ,OMG the emotions, love it. Thank you so much for sharing this amazing adventure with us. Merci Jeff, Merci Audrée!
Goose bumps. A true documentary that has everythung. Excitement, joy, challenge, sorrow, suffering, spirit, self-meditation, self-movitation. Absolutely one of the best clip ever in my life and probably in my rest of life. Thanks folks! for such a well-mad journey record
I just wanted to watch a video about running. But I bumped into this! I really did not expect an INCREDIBLE DOCUMENTARY🎥, perfectly portraying the human existence, the way we can learn to allow pain and let it be and let go from all suffering. 🪷Thank you for doing the work and documenting it! Truly truly inspiring! ✨I might start training for a half marathon! 🪴🐣🏃♂️
Thanks for this! I loved being part of your adventure and found the whole film inspiring. I’m running a 50km on Sunday, after being injured for most of this year. Watching this, I’m thinking ‘if they can do UTMB, I can do this 50’. Thank you

@JeffPelletier Awesome video! - Do you mind if I ask what app/software you used for the 3D route animation in the mountains? (1:13:27)
Audree has the best quote " Just a bunch of strangers suffering together in silence in a stunning place."
It's inspirational. (No sarcasm)
Audree is awesome ❤
Who said that " Was it Scott Jurek?
I was thinking the same thing 😂

Amen.
Audrée at the start, just feeling the emotion through the screen ☺🥰
worried about her all the time🙏 ... by far the best movie
that was beautiful.
Audree, I feel your emotion at that start line. I’m 55yrs, male and though I’ve only ran 4 marathons, each one I have shed a tear at the start line. Agreed
Dude is filming a feature film and breaking the guinness record for most high fives in a day all while running utmb. Legend.
Audree at 1:14:56 calling herself “lazy” as she completes an ultra up mountains 😂❤
Running a hundred miles? - sure. Stopping to put pants on? - hell no. Too much work ;)
that is proper mindset.
Audree, you are amazing. No quit, and the high of realizing you finished top 50, that’s top 50 in the WORLD! That’s insane and so very impressive.

Awesome vid! Cool to see Ben too, saw his 'nightmare race' first.
Amazing film Jeff and Audrée. The kind of film that gives birth to dreams...
Have to say, seeing Audrée tearing up at the start line really got to me.
Fantastic way to get a good impression about what is doing the UTMB. Made me remeber some places i walked while trekking in the Gr5 and the Chamonix Zermatt

This is so much fun to watch. Audree I would be crying with you. I'm sure there will be a few tears even arriving for the fast hike in 2023.

Audrée, Jeff amazing effort! Thanks for a great video, helps a lot!
Well done guys she’s an absolute worrier going through that low point

Late to the show I know but this was really well done and you both did awesome in the event. Audree is especially awesome!!

A fait accompli. Just a short stroll in les Alps, n'est ce pas? Congratulations both of you tough Canadian cookies!
As a beginner runner just starting out this inspired me massively. Didn't skip a second of this movie.
I have just completed walking the TMB in 8 days, I cannot imagine completing in 34-38 straight hours. Unbelievable stamina and endurance!

Thank you
This video is so great. Best Trailrunning movie ever. I watched it already twice!
One of the best trail running videos I've watched for a while. Well done!
