- Wet weather racing brings chaos to every level of motorsport, but when it suddenly arrives for a bunch of Shelby Cobras, Jaguar E-types, Chevrolet Corvettes and more, it adds even more wild moments.
That's what happened during this year's RAC TT Celebration, leading to some crashes, and some absolutely brilliant racing and car control.

What a drive from Olly Bryant 💪
Millions of pounds of glorious metal on a well buttered ice rink....only at Goodwood
British TH-cam comments are just the greatest in the world.
I saw the rain and did a devious laugh.
_Greased Pig Racing Championship._
I came all the way from Geneva to attend Goodwood Revival and it has been a wonderful experience, very authentic and more humanly scaled than Le Mans Classic, already thinking about coming back as soon as possible. This particular race was the one I enjoyed the most, almost missed my plane home to watch it until the end.
The Art of Racing in the Rain
The Great EQualizer
Best period of Sports Car Racing
Happy memories, I drove a Lotus Elite in the 1963 RAC TT. Only a couple of Cobras and E Types but a handful of 250 GTOs.
Oh I bet that was an experience. What was it like? both the car and the event back then?
All I can hear over the roar of the engines is Terry Thomas saying “You bounder, sir!”
This Sunday was my first time visiting the Goodwood Revival and this was by far the most exciting racing I've had the pleasure to witness. The cameras don't do justice to how fast these cars are travelling around the circuit, particularly where we were stood on the Lavant Straight. Can't wait to come next year!
Ear pugs are a must - throttle-tuning in the pits is one thing but those dreadful tinny tannoy trumpets amplifying the endless prattle from the commentary box!
seeing the bizzarrini smash into the barrier was heart crushing
Don't get why you'd want to risk such a masterpiece on the track....and in the rain!
@@UberLummoxThe willingness to risk a valuable asset is akin to a Willy waving competition?
I imagine this is a sport mostly of the wealthy.
This is so much more fun than any F 1. Pure racing with driver involvement. Old school.
Man I swear this is the best race ever, this era of cars with the rules, mate awesome era of cars with some of the best drivers on the planet, I don't think you can get better than this, straight up freakin awesome
You gotta remember these cars raced under different specifications and sanctioning bodies.
The equalizing part is the specified tire maximum width.
Omg loved this, this should be pre race at every f1 circuit
Race engineer: "Would you like the car set up for understeer or oversteer?"
Driver: "Yes."
😂😂😂
Race cars race. If not they are an investment. Any bigger insult than that isnt possiible. Well, not in my bubble anyway. Stay safe. Goodwood and all its contributors rule. x
Those Cobra's are absolute monsters. Kudos to all the drivers who managed to get them around the track when it was wet. Even in the dry they look like such a handful.
The one that crashed was one of my friends :(
Forget F1, this grid was STACKED!! So. Many. Legends.
Marvelous footage and super commentary - thanks for the perfect entertainment!
CHAOS!
Glorious chaos!
Extremely entertaining race.
In 2023, the E cars have the edge!
No better racing anywhere in the world.
That race was awsome.
That Lister-Jaguar Coupe of Wakeman/Kristensen is a brutally quick car, bit extremely difficult to drive in the wet, apparently.
niice a cheetah :D
Absolutly the most spectacular racing
What a brilliant race this is/was!
That's real motor racing. Not such a boring stuff like DTM or so.
That looks like fun, thank you for posting
Epic! That’s what racing should look and sound and feel like!
That was purebred insanity....fantastic/terrifiying/heart breaking !!
No insanity there.
All of it was deliberate and calculated.
Absolute awesome!
Great racing!
Great stuff!
That was fantastic, a great insight into the life of a BTCC driver. 👏👏👏👏
Superb commentary enhancing a beautiful occasion 👍👏👌
Damn, those guys can drive!
Gotta love goodwood
The camera work is amazing! Well done!
Great race, amazing footage and great commentary. You've just earned a subscriber and fan. Off the back of this video ive bought my tickets for next year!
Wonderful
best real racing ever...so much more entertaining than F1
Fantastic!
The Sunbeam Lister Tiger is so awsome!!!
Not the fastest but it's close enough to be one of the best...
It truly felt like watching a dogfight! It was as much a war with the elements as it was against the cars. Tremendous racing as always!
_Oversteer ~ understeer; wandering free..._
Excellent car control in the wet, expecially. Pity about the accident damage, on these exotic cars...
Cars can be mended.
I love a vintage car race!.. By the way why can't Britian's railways just invest in electrification?
36:15 The rain chaos begins
3:40 nobody was on his right side, he put himself in the gravel.
yup, Karun doesn't really rhyme with E-type
No, there is a slight nudge to the back of the line green Cobra.
How expensive is a weekend pass for this event?
What happened to the #13? Suddenly had damage.
Crazy, man, so crazy $? 🤔 🤐
“How much of the track did you use?”
“All of it.”
Hitting someone with two commercials right off the bat…
Are the Ac Cobras small or big blocks?
I think they're a mix
They're all 289s
They are all 289's. The only real difference between them is some are transverse leaf sprung (as were all the original street and race 289's) and some were coil spring versions - the FIA spec as raced in the FIA championships of 1964. The 2 versions had the same 3 inch ladder frame. The 427 chassis was developed from the lessons learned on the FIA variants with the beefier 4 inch ladder frame and coil springs.
Need to put sandbags in those cobras when it's Raining
Sorry Mr. Byrant.. Way to go Jaguar e-type!
There’s nothing like watching a $5M+ Jaguar slipping its way around the track with a strap dangling down from the suspension
The strap must've been a tow strap.
What s the marque of the leading car??????????????
great racing.wish i could mute the comentary so i could hear the engines
Somebody please bring a Cheetah!
There is a Cheetah in the race!
Why is a Porsche 906 in this group? and Why so slow???
904, and they raced in the same races in period.
Starting at 3:52, car #80 is a Porsche 906, unless they put 906 bodywork on a 904... lol @@GoodwoodRR
So, british engineers designed their cars specially for their own environment? 🤔 ("constant" heavy rain)
who are the commentors????????
A lot of hate in these comments. Why is everyone so negative nowadays. All people seem to be able to do anymore is complain.
Where? Your post is just spam.
Rubbing is racing 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
What a shame the 2 Cobras got damaged, but the Vicarinni was horrible!!! Just restored
And now??? I hope they
Keep racing it ...
Commentators need to learn the art of silence and not try to fill every second with banal chatter.
For heavens sake, you are not American, so it’s Lavant, that’s Lavant not La Vant, that’s Lavant not La Vant! Please!
TV director should be fired. Awful all weekend. The amount of overtaking that they missed. Need to do better Goodwood.
Do not try this at home😄
Love the female commentator.....spot on always
This endless talking....... it really gets me mad. No engine sound... just blablabala all the time 😢
The female co commentator on here is ruining the watch for me. Hopeless. Talks a lot without saying anything . Shame.
Please leave out the irritating narrators!
This doesn't need the female "commentator" coming out with her facile remarks about feelings and "hunting down" other cars. All she does is look at what I'm looking at and blather. Often mistaking what's happening or making incorrect predictions.
"The facts, ma'am, just gimme the facts."
i guess the british are not allowed to use Rain-X ??
Those silly americans stop racing when it starts raining. They don need cars that handle wet. Those crazy euro drivers don't stop in the wet. Their cars are built for it. And today it showed.
Awesome coverage of an awesome race!
Thanks for putting this out
Have fun all.
Why do they scrapp so many nice cars, I will never understand, only for a silly pot of victory, nobody will care about tomorrow...this is not necessary, i also raced at the Revival some years ago, but I never risked the historic material for really nothing, big shame on the drivers, who scrapp the wonderfull cars....
Bro that’s what they are built to do, they are race cars I’m sure there is one of each in a nice pretty show case for you to go see
why do they race purpose built racecars?
because they're racecars. doesn't matter how old they are, mate!
why even go to an event like goodwood REVIVAL if all you see is someone driving a racecar around the track going 30mph?
are you some sort of mentally ill? They are purpose built race cars being raced. As a so called driver yourself, I thought you of all people could respect these cars being raced and maintained around such a historic circuit. Big shame on you plyspeed.
Do you think the damaged cars won't be repaired? Be sure that the Bizzarini will be complete again in some weeks.
Because these old ladies aren't made for rotting in a museum, they screaming for racing !
