Thank you so much for this production. Much better than what is available here in the USofA, and we're much better for the opportunity to view this exciting and skillful racing. And not to forget the sportsmanship, where races are not won by pushing the opponent off the road!
Hey Jimmer. You are spot on with your observations about the current state of Assetto Corsa. I just came back to sim racing after a 2 year break and what the modding community has done has been nothing short of a miracle. I too come from the Rfactor 1 days - and you struck a chord with me about the feeling it elicits. I was driving the other night and was getting flashbacks to the height of my sim racing addiction. I am there again and it feels fantastic. Thank you to the entire AC modding community. I try to buy as many cups of coffee for those guys - something we all need to remember to do.
fascinating in historical how some of them are wearing Covid masks at the end and some really don't care and they're not. It was quite something going through Covid and at the end it was a ragged end. What a great race! Interesting to see some of those Mustangs competing with the thoroughbred British cars.
I don't know if I am unusual, but, I would sooner have the cars shown on the graphics, for the grid, than the drivers. I watch motor racing, that means CARS. And how many of those Cobras are not classic cars, but a modern day replica using the jigs from the past? The excess of fakes, in a race, should be limited.
As someone that did 2 seasons of pre ' 85 Formula Ford in 1991 & 1992 i would love to be able keep a classic sports car & race it for the motorsport of it & as a way of keeping our motor vehicle heritage in top condition.........it might have been better if Andrew had removed his mask to speak into the microphone......is this the first race in history where a driver tried to beat himself in another car ?...........what i don't understand is why there is clearly no interest from the public in attending classic motorsport meetings...........i really think the British motorsport clubs should face up to this & perhaps look into amalgamating all the clubs with a view to putting on a better spectacle to entice the public.........personally i don't see why classic meetings of Formula 1 cars or Le Mans cars or racing cars of all sorts & ages shouldn't be able to attract spectators to rival the current Formula 1 attendance or the heydays of motorsport meetings without charging the same ticket prices !!!.........what are historic motorsport clubs missing or not doing ? ..........is historic motorsport just not relevant to the current generation in 2024 ? or is there no longer enough interest in the cars being raced ? it seems to me Goodwood has put the most ongoing consistent effort into this & the Goodwood meetings & Festival of speed seem to be clearly the most well attended events in Historic motorsport in Britain............
i would like to go further with my previous comment...........this is my suggestion...........all the motorsport clubs get together to discuss THE BRITISH MASTERS HISTORIC MOTORSPORT GOLD CUP...............decide on all the different classic classes Formula 1 Formula 3 Le Mans cars saloons etc etc ............perhaps avoid getting caught up into being overly prissy about whether the vehicle is a complete replica or has a dodgy VIN number riveted onto the chassis !......i don't think the public minds too much if it really is the Lotus 72 driven by Mario or Emerson............. or is the same & looks like it !......forget about endurance races just a good old fashioned watsits out sprint of say 15 to 20 laps per race..........hold the annual championship over a weekend at all the major British racing circuits......... including Scotland Ireland & Wales......the winner of each class championship wins a Gold Cup.....set ticket prices at a very family friendly rate of perhaps £10 to £15 a ticket or £25 family ticket.............promote it maybe on TV........by my reckoning 100 000 spectators would be a revenue of a cool £1 to £1.5 million per meeting...........12 to 15 races in the calendar could be a total revenue from just ticket sales alone of £12 to £22.5 million............then there could be proper TV coverage too.........nevermind in Britain that should have GLOBAL APPEAL in any cuntree !........ if you get my opposite lock drift..........best wishes si
