    I want to see an increase in Cats goals this season, he’s got to stop hitting the post. Kane will add more goals I think, maybe around 30. It comes down to Raymond’s ceiling and how much Senko brings. Either way, I am excited. Let’s go Wings!

      Depending on who feeds the other I can see one of Kane and Tarasenko shooting first and then you have to be careful of higher expectations of the two and Compher because the team was healthy last season except for a couple injuries that were not long before Larkin was out. I can see more injuries this season and I don’t see that they are better than last season especially if Bergs is traded and who takes over and he is beat out by a different Prospect plus Johansson can get beat out but he might be because of contract situation. I think SY needs to get rid of a DMan or waive him.

      @@DTA555. Kane will be better simply by being here from the start of the season.
      Kane is also a playaker and not just a shooter so it is safe to say Comphers numbers do go up an having another shooter in Tarasenko compliments that as well.
      Bergs has no bearing on how good the Wings will be overall.

    I’d say we have to weigh in whether or not we want veleno to come back and play 4C or Danielson makes the team and plays 3C with Copp, Fischer, Rass as your shut down line, Danielson could potentially be the two way center men we need, he was on the final cuts of last seasons camp, don’t count out Danielson, I’d say if Kasper doesn’t show out in camp, Danielson is a lock to make the team, he’s too good on both sides of the puck to at least give him a 25 game look because we can send him back down without putting him thru waivers, this forward core is a lot better offensively when you consider the improvements on the 200 foot style yzerman likes. You've got Chirot in your top pair, 3 RH D-men (and 2 of them are Petry and Holl!) a 37 yr old goalie, and absolutely nobody to pick up the slack when Larkin goes down. Absolutely none of the glaring holes from last year have been addressed or improved, AND you have to count on the Sabres, Sens, NJ, Flyers, Pens, Habs and Caps to not improve. The answer to the question is clearly "no". Now, maybe broker a 3-fer in a trade for 1 solid goalie, somehow find a RHD, and hope against hope that Nate blows everyone away in training camp and automatically jumps into the 2C, and then maybe, but none of those scenarios are likely..

    • @moappleseider1699
      @moappleseider1699 หลายเดือนก่อน

      LMFAO so much wrong with your comment. Obviously Yzerman has to get rid of at least 1 defenseman. He's literally said this, and I imagine its Petry or Holl. A 37 year old goalie who's really good, not to mention Lyon who's awesome. Lyon had a fall off last season for the same reason Husso had a fall off the season before. They both got over played. Lalonde should have played the backups more especially against lesser teams, meanwhile he would play the backup against really good teams. Also Husso could bounce back but I doubt it. His post to post play isn't that great. But Lyon knows this is his chance to prove he's the next Tim Thomas type of player whether its for us or another team. Have you seen the goalies we have coming down the pipe? Too many good prospects to waste a trade on a goalie.
      I agree with you that no one seemed to step up when Larkin was down. I'm willing to bet Kane and Raymond are going to be those guys this time around. You could tell the entire first hal to 2/3rds of the season Raymond was unsure of himself and Kane coming off major surgery and being the new guy 1/3rd of the way into the season on a "rival team" was probably not ready to step into that role. Seider also is starting to show more leadership. It's a new season. We have to see. I think the big problem is no one scaring other teams into staying away from Larkin, both of his major injuries were the result of a$$holes on other teams getting way too physical with him. We need a legit tough guy to protect our stars.
      Let me ask you a legit question. Do you really think the Sabres, Pens, Habs, or Caps actually improved in the offseason? The sens I could see a bit just cause of the goalie they got but he may not do well there. That happens with goalies who have a lot of expectations from new teams. The Flyers? Maybe but aside from the Sabres I can't think of another team in the east that tends to step on their own dicks as much as them. New Jersey legit improved and are going to be a force IMHO, but guess who they're banking on in net. The Sabres did sabre things which means nothing to improve. The Habs improved a bit but not enough (think Detroit 3 seasons ago) to be a legit threat. The caps and pens only got worse. They are both too old and haven't got the prospects or draft pool to fix it quickly.

      @chumpmtb2554 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@moappleseider1699 I don't disagree with much of what you said, so let me simplify it. There are 3 things that need to be addressed in order for the Wings to be better this year over last.. 1) You need a 2C that can step into the 1C when Larkin is down. Compher is not going to fill that role and we're looking at 2-3 years before Nate can. Sure, Raymond, Kane and adding Vlad will pick up slack in other areas, but 2C is still a void. 2) Chirot is not a top-pair D man on any team, from any dimension, on any planet, from any universe. Having Petry and Holl as your only other RHD is simply unecxeptable. Nothing has been done so far to address this laughably bad D core, which leads me to the 3rd void (which is actually my least worry) goaltending. Look, it doesn't matter who you bring in, any goalie is going to struggle behind this D core. Yes, I know who's in the ranks, but they're still a couple of years out, so the answer is still "no".. They haven't addressed the glaring holes from last year, so they aren't likely to be any better this year. I'm not saying Stevie should have spent the farm in this crazy FA market, or that he didn't try, or that he won't make other moves addressing these problems before the season starts. I'm only saying that as it stands now, the 3 major issues haven't been addressed, so it isn't likely they will be much better than last year.

      That is why it takes time to build through the draft when a team bottoms out like the Wings did.
      You have to build a solid core to build around in free agency.

    Please stop using Lalonde decision to sit a player as evidence of the players ability. This applies to Holl, Walman and Sprong. Lalonde makes mistakes in talent assessment when he refused to play Berggren who proved himself as a money player in the GR playoffs. All it says is Lalonde is as stubborn as Yzerman modifying his perspective in evaluating talent.

      Let's face it Lalonde is Horse-bleep, he is just a hanger-on. Should have had them in the playoffs last season. The big losing streak was on him.
