Hello Brenda & Laura. You are special guests. If it wasn’t for your Floss Tube I would not have a lot of the stitchy goodness that I have acquired since getting back into cross stitch. Your Floss Tube is not only entertaining, & inspiring with all your cross stitch pieces, but has a lot of cross stitch information (like retreat info, inspiring floss tube channels to watch, new & old patterns to buy, sites to get great project bags, & other cross stitch accessories, & great linens & threads). For stitchers like me who do not have an LNS near them this information is invaluable. That makes you special guests in my book. Thank you both for taking your time to keeping us informed & inspired.
You two always have so many great things to share with us, I often watch your videos 2-3 times to take it ALL IN!!! I love it!!! Thank you both, dearly!!! You get along so well and are both a joy to watch! Thank you for making the videos you do!
You give me heart palpitations when you showed the beautiful finishes by Terri that your mom stitched Laura! I can’t thank you enough for the kind words from you both. You are such a joy to watch and always make us laugh out loud! I’ve had Terri do a lot of finishes lately and her work is impeccable. Hugs to you both!
Thank you Judy!!! Your work gives us heart palpitations!!!!!! Yes, Terri is such a great finisher! So happy that she is working on your models!!! Sending love and hugs back to you!
Nice gentle rain here in Southern Indiana and I am watching your fabulous FT and stitching. Feeling pretty content.😀 I have found a SUPERB framer in Louisville, Kentucky! FRAMES OF MIND, Brenda Haley. She has a beautiful frame selection. She laces the needlework (unlike my local Hobby Lobby, they use sticky board!) Her turn around is usually 2 weeks and her prices are reasonable for sure. She is a stitcher that handles my cross stitch with care.
You are special guests because you are both so special. You bring joy and laughter to all of us. Your enthusiasm is catching and the folks at Hobby House will love having you there. Thanks for the fun. Jan
Another awesome video! Seeing all of the wonderful stitched pieces you’ve both created (and Nancy) is always so inspiring. The finished and framed projects are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing everything! Now to watch again and have pen and paper in hand. 😊
Such beautiful finishes! Tell Nancy that her stitching is gorgeous! Just love y’all for sharing your beautiful friendship and love of stitching with us. ❤
Well that was a jam pack video of stitch goodness! So many beautiful finishes, charts, and that fabric was just fabulous! I need to do some shopping now ...
Love watching you lovely ladies, as always! Thank you for sharing the beautiful stitching and patterns. Also, Laura, here is a trick to keep your straw from floating in your Diet Coke can: turn the pull tab around so that the hole is over the can opening. Stick your straw through the hole. It will fit tightly enough to keep your straw in place. Thank you both for sharing your passion with us. ❤
You two are always special especially on the day your video pops up❤. Thanks for sharing your wonderful projects! We all will be counting the days until you return. Happy stitching & a great!❤
Fantastic stuff, you two. I absolutely love all of your videos. I paused a couple of times to take some notes, as I often do! And all of your finishes and framed items - so great! Thanks, as always, for all the fun!
Hi girls. How lucky for us to see you both, you are right rain makes the best stitching days! Everything you showed is beautiful. Thank you both for your commitment to flosstube!😘
What a great episode! I appreciate you both giving up a rainy Sunday to share so much stitching info/WIPS/laughs with your fan base. I hope you two are up to something that brings you joy while taking a break from floss tube. You will be missed, but I can be patient. Sending you both a hug and gratitude.
Congrats on Michigan ‘s win! The stitching is exquisite and the finished work was so beautiful! Love the video and spending time with you both! Have a wonderful week!
Picked up my stitching, girded the loins, and settled in for another Sunday visit with two of my favorite enthusiastic enablers 😂. Such a great episode! The finishes and framing looked fabulous! Have a great couple of weeks!
Congrats on being featured at the retreat! Very nice finished pieces & great stitching. Now you have that song in my head......leapin' & hoppin' on a Moonshadow, Moonshadow, Moonshadow. 😜 Marilyn
Oh, my! Utterly delightful flosstube! I haven’t taken a whole page of notes in awhile, but did today! So many pretties!!! And Nancy’s, too! She stitches so beautifully, also. I am off to check out your mentions and watch Jodi’s new one, too. Happy stitching!! Hugs.❤
You gals are just the best. I already watched Jodi’s new video. So good. And her linen is grand! Thanks again for sharing all your stitching with us. So grateful to share time with you. Xoxo
Good morning, fall is definitely here in British Columbia. Brenda loved the tour of your home the other day. So many very beautiful frame charts big and small. That is your happy place. Great tour. Thanks for sharing. Laura’s next💞
A great visit with you ladies today while I stitched on Frances Eden! So many pretty finishes and gorgeous framing ❤. I definitely took notes on charts and fabric I want and plan to be Johnny on the spot tomorrow morning to score some Cedar River goodness. Have a wonderful stitching evening and I wish you lots of rain🌧️🌧️🌧️
A great video once again. You never disappoint. I have learned so much from your information and love of stitching. I know more about linden than I ever thought. I would know. You will be missed greatly and I will be praying for whatever is keeping you occupied during the winter. I'm glad we get two more videos before You're a long sabbatical. Love you both!. By the way, I live close to gazel Kansas and if I get to the museum I will take a picture of the original sampler and make sure you both have a copy of it.
Hi Sharon!!! Oh!!!! No we meant to say probably no new video until December...I will be traveling in November......so sorry for the misunderstanding! Thank you for your kind words!
Your framed finishes turned out so beautifully! And, as usual, your WIPS are very pretty too. Take care, and happy stitching over the next couple of weeks.
2nd comment!!! Thank you SO MUCH for telling us about The Attic's video discussing stitching on linen!!! I did go over there - ends up I missed that one episode due to it being summer and my spending every weather permitting day on the beach at the end of our street! I learned a lot and where to go to print out nice directions for stitching on linen especially since I am self-taught! You two are incredible!!!! Thank you so much for sharing that!!!!! I apologize for any spelling errors - I cannot see what I'm typing! Long story! Lol!!!! I already cannot wait for your next video!!!!! I LOVE your videos!!!!!!! You two are my favorites!!!!!
Wait! What! No videos after November until summer! Not all right! I look forward to your videos every two weeks. I will be in severe withdrawal. At least help us understand why. Love you both.
Oh thank goodness! I was in such a funk thinking I wouldn’t see you for months. I just love your videos and your beautiful cross stitch. You are so inspiring and the friendship you share is so sweet.
I love watching you two. I learn things that I didn't know and it's so fun to see what you are stitching and buying! Brenda, I found it interesting that you watch your Michigan games mostly without sound. Congrats on the win (from this USC grad). It's going to be fun to play each other every year. You are in the series lead!
Hubby watching Bears today and your video shows up. For my 65th bday, I am starting 65 new Halloween starts and the project bag I selected today - Teresa Kogut’s Hello Halloween. After listening to you, I’ll stitch the sampler on cover in 5 different projects. Great idea ladies. Today I am starting Onward Kitty. Loved the finishes and stitching as usual.
Jean Farish has a good explanation and diagram on her flosstube about stitching on linen and the vertical thread. Most of us older stitchers learned something from Ginny Thompson. See you at HH.
Thank you Brenda & Laura, you will be missed greatly (and I’ll probably save a lot of money) but go do the things you love! Have fun! I know it has to be a lot of work to produce a flosstube and I appreciate you both so much. ❤
Ladies, did you know at Hobby Lobby if you use their ready made frames in the store you get the frame half price. The glass is already there and you sometimes can frame things for under 25 dollars. It’s not for everyone but I’ve used them and they are just fine.
Hi Brenda and Laura, I LOL when Brenda started to break out in song. “ We gather together “. Brenda, my grandfathers father was a vicar and his favorite song was Amazing Grace. It was so nice of you to agree to being filmed by another floss tube person last week Brenda. I enjoyed that video. You are amazing. Have a great week. PS Brenda I always have my a/c on 70. One week in December the last week usually I turn off my a/c.
Always entertaining. I didn’t realise 100.3 were good on 40 count linen, I thought you needed at least 46 count to get good coverage. I just ordered the exclusive from Homespun Needlework and because it’s my first time doing fancy stitches I ordered 36 count and the over dyed threads but it wasn’t much more for the silks and now I’m regretting my decision. I thought it would be a good learning piece because as well as the stitches, I can learn the finishing. Very exciting. I agree with all you say about Sian the Periwinkle Stitcher, everything is so beautiful. Thanks for sharing another great video.
Thank you Sylvia!!!! You can try the 100.3 on a little red sampler on 40 count to see how you like them on that count. I think the coverage is fine and dandy and so does Brenda.
Hi Laura and Brenda, what’s going on? You two are special guests at a retreat next year and Carol is guest speaker on a stitching cruise (taking Mr Saltbox no less). Great news for you all, best, Steph from Northern England 🎉🎉
I’m new to stitching and just found you and am so sad to see you take a break. I totally understand though. I guess I’ll have to go and watch your old ones. I just watched Brenda’s tour of her home and cannot believe how many you have finished. You must have been stitching for many years.
Jean (Attic Needlework) taught me the SW corner many decades ago. Recently, I explained to a new stitcher who is ready to try linen, but she stitches opposite of me, so she is SE to NW over the vertical. Nice WIPS, Finishes, great fabrics & floss colors. Do you have Stash Unload charts / Kits purchased? That would be a fun parade. Pretty imitation mother of pearl as a needle-minder. Mrs. Flossy will have a free shuttle available from the hotel to The Attic & restaurants nearby. Oh, You 2 will be fun special guests, I saw that post this AM.
I loved the video! So much gorgeous eye candy. I loved all of your beautiful finishes too. Laura, your mom’s stitching is so pretty, great finishes. Have fun at your upcoming events. Brenda, I agree about staying cool, no matter what the bill is.
What!😮 Summer!! I hope everything is well with you both. I don’t know what i am going to do without you two.. Well you n the bright side we have two more episodes
Hi gals! Have so Much fun on your upcoming shenanigans!! Well I had to find “Anna Funk” IMMEDIATELY! And Brenda I am right with you on your sleeping/plan thermostat deal! Right with you !! 😂😂 also wanted to say I have been a huge fan of Cedar River Linens from the start. I would say hers are my most favorite linens for the color but hugely for the “hand “ of them as you say. They are gorgeous to use! Fun Flosstube! Thanks a bunch 🍁🍂🍁🍂🧡🧡🧡🧡 whoo hooo Its FALL!!
Did you say gone until summer after the end of October??? I know you have a life and I will respect that and keep my whining to a minimum, but oh my gosh, I will miss you guys like crazy!!😢😢😢
Oh my gravy. I was just finishing watching this and had my head down to stitch and Brenda, you were talking about your next couple of videos and then being out for a while and I thought you said it may be to at least December and my old ears thought you said “the summer. “ and I had a total H and H. I’ve rewound twice now to make sure of what you said. Goodness
Yes, December!!!! Can you imagine how much catching up we would have to do if we didn't do one until next summer. It would be a 24 hour floss tube!!! Thank you Connie!
How do you ladies stitch so much and still work full time? Do you not sleep 😂? You both are so friendly and fun. I feel like I have friends in Illinois now!
Thank you Karen! Well, I (Laura), shirk all my household duties and stitch the minute I get home from work. I am lucky to be married to Mike. Brenda is way more organized with her housekeeping and is generally just a wonder to behold.
Love your videos! Some of the best on floss tube. My dream someday is to meet and visit with you. Your stitching is stunning! One question for you…where is a good place to get Cohana scissors? Thank you.
Oh Brenda I was thinking of you yesterday! We were at The Big House for the game and when USC took the lead and it was so stressful in the last quarter, I elbowed my husband and said, “Brenda must be going crazy right now!!” 😮🫣 The funniest thing is that he knew exactly who I was talking about!! He always asks me what you had to say about the game. 😊
I had one more thing I thought about this morning. You girls need to know you are an inspiration to the younger girls coming up. You are teaching them how special it is to have the talent of sewing and stitching. In this day and age homekeeping is something to be cherished, as time has not been kind to it. The collections you have are things you have gathered over the years, and you surround yourself with the things that you love. Love. I believe every woman should surround themselves with treasures of their life and history. Thank you. Thank you for all the encouragement. You girls have more swans in your camp than turkeys. Don't ever forget that.❤
Hi I have the warf and weft page screen shot from linen stitches book. I have book and then Pat Carson before she died gave us pdf free through stitchery xpress Cindy Sorly. I can send screen shot you can share if it is ok to do but do not know where to send it.
Hello Brenda & Laura. You are special guests. If it wasn’t for your Floss Tube I would not have a lot of the stitchy goodness that I have acquired since getting back into cross stitch.
Love your videos!!
Thank you Kathy!
Enjoy your video Laura and Brenda. Beautiful!. Mute the video when Brenda talked about the game🫢. take care
How did you come to like Michigan football Brenda? GO BLUE!! From a Michigander. Janice
Brenda grew up in Adrian, Michigan and her Mom loved college football and so the rest is history!
Did I hear you right? That after the 2 flosstubes in October, you won’t be back until summer?
How do you ladies stitch so much and still work full time? Do you not sleep 😂? You both are so friendly and fun. I feel like I have friends in Illinois now!
Thank you Karen! Well, I (Laura), shirk all my household duties and stitch the minute I get home from work. I am lucky to be married to Mike. Brenda is way more organized with her housekeeping and is generally just a wonder to behold.
I take a close up photo of each section of a chart and print it off. No more squinting lol
Great idea!
You guys need to add segment “what mom’s up to”!
Thanks Amanda!!!!! Yes, we do!
I did the vintage cats in the TK book. I need to finish them but not find anything the right size.
Boring!? Not stitching and certainly not your flosstube. Hope someone isn’t being mean to you girls❤ love watching learning listening to you both
Out til the summer?! NOOOO! Oh say, major withdrawals!
Oh!!!! No we meant to say probably no new video until December...I will be traveling in November......so sorry for the misunderstanding!
Hooray 🎉
Burn a big phatty, Laura. Will miss you guys throughout your sabbatical. Enjoy!
Yeah, Converser online has a custom section.
Love your videos! Some of the best on floss tube. My dream someday is to meet and visit with you. Your stitching is stunning! One question for you…where is a good place to get Cohana scissors? Thank you.
❤
Laura, did you finish Anne Thomas 1854? Would you mind telling me what fabric you used? And the count?
❤❤❤🎉
Oh Brenda I was thinking of you yesterday! We were at The Big House for the game and when USC took the lead and it was so stressful in the last quarter, I elbowed my husband and said, “Brenda must be going crazy right now!!” 😮🫣 The funniest thing is that he knew exactly who I was talking about!! He always asks me what you had to say about the game. 😊
GOOOOOO BLUE!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Wow! I am so inspired ❤
Don't ever forget that.❤
Btw. Where do you buy flood on spools and what brand is it?
Floss. Dah.
Hahah second!!! I’ve been waiting all morning ❤
Was it Lakeside Navy Bean?
Enjoyed today’s Flosstube! What do you mean by “103’s”??
