I heard Gary was ALWAYS late to the set - Very late. It was often hot filming outdoors in CA summer...and Burghoff was a consistent late show. Yeah, that would make ppl quite angry.
If you were born in the seventies, you weren't old enough to get that show.
I didn't see anywhere in this story that everyone hated Gary Burghoff.
It’s hard for people to understand a ghost . Because that is what Gary ( unofficially) was in the television series . Depicting someone who was out there but you never knew him . Being in the signal corps is just like that . A person of this caliper works behind the scenes . You never see him come out until the commander needs to know something or the commander wants to tell the rest of the troops what’s happening .
As I recall, Gary Burgoff was the only cast member that actually served in the Korean War.
Close but you're thinking of Jamie Farr.
@@rods6741 Alan Alda too
Wayne Rogers left right after McLean Stevenson left. Both left at the end of season 3 in 1975.
19:40 Eileen Dotchen was Harry Morgan's then-wife, and the MASH producers said they used her picture for Mrs. Potter, So it was just two pictures of the same person. Potter also had some grandchildren.
I love you Gary
He appeared on Wonder Woman and The Love Boat x
virtually every living actor appeared on "The Love Boat"
@@johnroy9654 That’s true
bud court was radar in the movie.
Cort (just in case someone is googling)
No, Gary Burghofff played in the movie in the movie, too. I think Bud Cort played Boone in the movie. Boone quickly disappeared in the series.
@@docadams7099 yes.. Gary was the only cast member who was in both the movie and the series, although Loretta Swit is just about a clone of Sally Kellerman
8:38 Currently employed as an autism awareness campaigner? Interesting, considering he's been dead for eight years. 🤔
Radar with an Avengers comic? Not realistic for the Korean war. The Avengers ( except for Captain America) hadn't been created until 1963.
