@@andybanan1992indeed. Temperature affects the quantity of water that the air can hold. The colder, the lesser amount of water air can hold on to. Hence why cold climates have drier air. Also why your windows might be foggy in winter : the air surface next to the window is colder and allows less water to be captured, while the hotter and charged in water air from inside comes in contact with the colder temperatures of the cold air window area, and water drops ensues.

Very true. I don't often take ice baths but one time I was forced to swim about 400 meters in ice cold water against the current (our boat sank). Never experienced something as cold as that, but of course that's not something you normally do. At the beginning every time I made a swim stroke it felt like needles in my body but after a while I stopped caring and just drifted slowly towards land.
Fun and scary experience, but obviously not one I would recommend. Wear your life vest, kids!

That's why wet-suits (diver suits) work as protection against the cold when you're diving: a wet-suit is basically a neoprene bag that lets in a small amount of water that then can't flow so freely so it gets warm by your body heat and protects you for a while. The initial shock of the freezing water getting in is horrible, though. Oh, and did I mention that is not rare for the cold shock to induce an extreme urge to pee? Turns out simmering inside a bag full of warm urine is a blessing when you're diving in the freezing currents coming down from the North Pole.

Please read this before you swim in ice water. This happened to me just 2 weeks ago I swear to God. I was in India taking a hike to a freezing cold waterfall. And 5 hours in after a lot of rock climbing we reach, and my cousins and I decide to take a swim in this small lake. I got in... Absolutely freezing (and I'm Canadian-Indian). I was hyperventilating. My cousins start telling me "deep breaths, like Wim Hoff". Looking below the rocks with goggles I see that it's about the 2 stories deep or more. I couldn't tolerate the cold, but my cousins kept forcing me to take a swim to complete the hiking experience. And so I did. In about 15 seconds while I'm in the middle I start blacking out... I was actually fainting. I realize this and frantically start swimming back but my legs and hands slowed, and my vision got dark and hazy, my body felt heavy. I tried calling for help and no one could hear me with the loud sound of the waterfall. I know I was about 5 seconds from my brain fully shutting off, and I'd surely sink to the bottom. But fortunately I got close enough, and one of my cousins grabbed me as I was starting to sink. I'm a good swimmer, so I was really confused what even happened. I googled it when I got home. This is called a "Shallow Water Blackout (SWB)", it's a result of hyperventilating, low oxygen in the brain from being immersed in cold water and hyperventilating / intentionally hyperventilating before a dive. I felt like I would've died. Next day was my wisdom tooth surgery, and I felt numb and fearless after that experience. Don't swim in cold deep water. Ice baths are fine.

A thermal sheath! Sounds cool. Heat transfer is slowed down when a fluid is static (pure conduction). When you introduce movement to the fluid, by moving your arms in this case, you increase the rate of heat transfer. The velocity of a fluid at the boundary interface and degree of turbulence effect the rate of heat transfer.
