@@stonevisionmedia the vocals are holding them back, alot. the instruments sound good though. He's clearly not willing or not able to commit to the vocal fry that would be more typical of this kind of metal. They could really benefit from doing something else to make up for it, maybe if they could try to harmonize to get a good tenor going. Or if he could just try to do that thing that godsmack does in voodoo where they have the ultra deep singing coming from the back of the throat.
This song is the best thrash ballad I've heard since 80's Metallica, even Testament. Fuck the haters, this is a great tribute to a fallen band member and to the old school sound. Lots of heart and passion. I'd like to hear more songs like this. I love the other Evile songs but this one brings me back!
Ah man, after Mike died I couldn't bring myself listen to their music; We played a show with them and TOB a few months before and today was the first time I listened to their new stuff. That intro that was his warm up/sound check riff. Mike's bass playing was so tight during that show and I hadn't met anyone like that.
He sounds exactly like James. Someone passed this song off as a Metallica song. I thought it was for years. Wondering where the hell it come from? It's not on any .Metallica anything..
Doyledeth Unfortunately metal is dead compared to where it was in the 80s and early 90s so they probably wont see as much success. I love evil and back when Ol Drake was the lead guitar player they were probably the best new thrash metal band. Now he left and wont be coming back. Definitely eerily similar in things that happened except Mike Alexander had a blood clot in his lung.
When the darkness takes from me Cruel hands are scorned How our light dims carelessly Bringing bare minds torn Come with me When the darkness comes We all must leave When the darkness comes Sifting through my memories Lifting spirits once more Ones we lose forever breathe Through the past reborn Come with me When the darkness comes We all must leave When the darkness comes Wasted seasons surround us Take not for granted your time Such a thing waits for no man Stone gardens stand before us Lifelong the memoirs always rhyme Try to live before one dies Come with me When the darkness comes We all must leave When the darkness comes
I first heard this song as a leaked Metallica song. I thought it was Metallica until now. Funny I now hear the difference, and I must say after hearing more this band kicks ass. Hope to hear more from them.
This song literally brings me so many memories about my grandmother who passed away 6 years ago, every time I go to her grave this song always plays in my head.
Due to the similarity of this band's vocalist's voice and the way he's singing, to the Metallica's vocalist, when my brother and I heard this wonderful song for the first time, we used to think that this song belongs to the Metallica...it was about 10 years ago. In one word, it's FANTASTIC. I don't know this band, but they have put all the pieces of one true heavy metal song perfectly all together.
+John no no black album is good since THAT theres been a handfull songs that are good those are, fuel. unforgiven 2. st anger (song only). frantic. all nightmare long. the day that never comes. my apocalypse. i dissapear. yeah alot less since their early days but their new songs arent all that bad as you make it out to be.
I love this song, the whole album is a masterpiece. I like how they've done something different and not just gone "alright, let's write 10 songs and have every single one going a million miles an hour". I love Enter the Grave and Infected Nations don't get me wrong, but I think this album sounds far more complete....if that makes sense? lol :)
The allegory of the band playing in an abandoned library adds so much more weight to the lyrical content of the song. When someone passes on, an entire library of life experience and knowledge is gone.
Come a long way from Enter the Grave, I gotta say. The rest of the album is pure thrash but this song is just as good because they wrote it with something a lot of bands dont have, and that is passion.
The vocals don't only sound like Hetfield but also the way of singing is very similar. And musicalywise it sounds like Metallica... also the ending part! Beautifull.
Theye really making someone else look like they havent practiced in 20 years,,,,,,,., and you know who it is..... These guys are picking up the baton, I say we run with them..make them big 4 number 5.
Just read something cool. I read that the bass part at the beginning of this song is what Mike Alexander used to play during sound checks. What a great way to remember him :)
I wish you strength to overcome this difficult situation. It has never happened to me, but I can't even think of how hurting it would be to lose your loved one. She may rest in peace.
Fantastic! I really enjoyed watching this video of yours. It brings something back to Metal that's missing for a decade now and that is, in my opinion, emotion. Today it's almost like it's forbidden to take an emotional approach to special themes, 'cause it's non-Metal and many think it's gay :(. But I think that's just bullocks and this song is a vanguard piece of music and has a meaning to everyone who feel loss in their hearts. Thank you Evile for that awesome song!
It depends on your outlook. Yours is a complete negative one. I myself would take it as an honour to perform this song. Its only appropriate that this was the first to be made. I met Mikey at Bloodstock and he was an amazingly humble guy. R.I.P buddy.
Angelo Sasso tbh I'm not a big fan of this guy's drumming. not hating but it just sounds too plain almost like using a drum track. there's no soul to it or style. like how if you listen to dave lombardo or gene hoglan you know it's them pretty quick because of their style, can't really say the same about this guy.
Seriously, how are these guys not more popular?
They sound like everything that's already been done but with shit vocals, that's why.
@@stonevisionmedia Like your mom?
@@stonevisionmedia you cant be serious or you have a real big problems with your taste.
Well metal is pretty much dead in the mainstream. Now we only have showcase bands that only exist to show their talent to others musicians.

Definitely 💯

A hidden TREASURE of a song. Good job guys
Anybody else find it eerie that these guys are a little similar to Metallica and their bassist died as well?

nice to see ivan moody's drum skills are kicking in quite nicely.
Bro 😂
Rest In Peace Mike , so much time has passed so quickly, seems like just yesterday you left this world. 🤘🤘🤘 Saluting you bro.
This has a beautiful melody track.
This is what i love about thrash....not everything has to be light speed....but meaningful when you lose a brother or sister
This is such a banger
When the darkness takes from me
Cruel hands are scorned
How our light dims carelessly
Bringing bare minds torn
Come with me
When the darkness comes
We all must leave
When the darkness comes
Sifting through my memories
Lifting spirits once more
Ones we lose forever breathe
Through the past reborn
Come with me
When the darkness comes
We all must leave
When the darkness comes
Wasted seasons surround us
Take not for granted your time
Such a thing waits for no man
Stone gardens stand before us
Lifelong the memoirs always rhyme
Try to live before one dies
Come with me
When the darkness comes
We all must leave
When the darkness comes

This song literally brings me so many memories about my grandmother who passed away 6 years ago, every time I go to her grave this song always plays in my head.
This is so beautiful
I found out this song is a Tribute to Ex Bassist Mike Alexander. RIP
No disrespect at all...but Sweden seems to swallow up bandmates. Mike Alexander...Cliff Burton. Also...both bassists for Thrash Metal bands
@@av3nger3 also both tragedies led to amazing tribute songs. This and To Live Is To Die
