I shook Ol's hand when they supported Suicidal Tendencies, at the Electric Ballroom in London. He had just finished having a selfie with another fan, and was walking out of the gig (?) He had a train ticket in his hand, and must have thought I was trying to steal it. I just said "I'm a big fan", and carried on going.

If you've never heard Evile, do it! Amazingly talented band. Even if you like something a bit softer, check out Tomb by them. They can do it all.
I remember when I learned how to play Fade to black intro it was pure ecstasy! My friends were like “you’re a guitar God!”🤘😂
The entire Master of Puppets record was a game changer for Metal guitarist and bassist . I enjoy your tone as well. Good amount of gain and crunch without being muddy .
I'm glad Evile is making a come back saw them once at a bar opening for Overkill. They did a damn good show. Caught one of their picks they threw out and met their front man.

Just discovered your band mate. Already feel like I have dived down the Evile rabbit hole. Rip Mike. Watching Gojira beforehand and realize the heights of which you wish to reach is obtainable it just takes dedication and pumping out quality riffs!

I feel so vindicated knowing that one of Ol's favorite riffs on the new album is from *The Thing (1982)*, it has got to be one of my most favorite tracks as of recent. I love the entire album but Thing just stands out to me those most right now that I can't not ignore it. Learning how to play it has been a challenge and in fact just that snippet Ol showed helped immensely.

only discovered you guys last year im 53 been listening to thrash speed since i was 15! just started guitar 18 months ago gonna learn your stuff. been iin USA since 2002 came back to Leeds where im from 2015.went back to USA 2018 and will return next year hopefully see you guys!

Russian Roulette is what got me into Evile. Thrashiest song of the 2000's. Also big horns to the annihialtor riff. Jeff needs more recognition for his bat shit crazy riffs.
A little anecdote: my best friend showed me Evile for the first time in 2014 and since then I've been a fan of the band. In 2020 I was a viewer of Ol Drake's streams on Twitch, in one of those he was playing the beginning Rust In Peace and I had arrived late, Ol asked me what song I wanted him to replay, I told him Lucretia, humble man and good person.

I’m English and I cannot work out his accent. He sounds generically midlands, generically northern and a little bit Scottish. All I can tell is he’s definitely not from the south

His accent is a bit all over the shop, alright. As you say, 'not a Southerner' is about all you can pin on him.
I once asked him about his accent on his Twitch stream - I'm Brazilian and usually I have a hard time understanding british folks, but I can understand him just fine - and he said he's from Yorkshire, but he managed to "dilute" his accent so people can understand him better.
