My gosh, the nostalgia is hitting hard. Man, I've been searching for my Pajama Sam disc so hard, but I might just have to give up and get it on steam.
Even in non-widescreen this game always looks so sharp and colorful for a game made in the late 90s, it’s nice to see the game looks exactly how I remember it

that bit towards the end about click points was really interesting though, I realize I had the same experience with my sister (4 year gap), kind of nuts that the game is completely different. I didn't even know about many of the click points until she showed me.

I remember having a pajama Sam game about building sock putting away machines, it wasn't a point and click so maybe it way a spin off but I remember like it a lot but it was my only PS Sam I played so learning about what he really was was quite interesting

Y'now, I recently replayed the first two games on a private stream for my boyfriend as part of an April Fools joke. Even I am still obsessed with those clickpoints everywhere and some of them actually made me crease with hysterical laughter. Looking at you, jumping jacks-doing four leaf clover from the first game.
I even discovered new things and can understand some of the jokes better now as an adult than I could back then, such as one of those candles from the first game having an existential crisis. Some of these jokes get dark when you think about them and I love it.
I love how you're bringing all these points to the table. It would be a pleasure to discuss these game with you over social media.
I have played through PJS 3 so much! Pretty much because I played it first and then helped my younger sister play through it when she got stuck.
Gosh...I played a LOT of Humongous Entertainment games as a kid. Spyfox was a personal favorite.
How was cleaning up those cheerios?
This is literally the third video I've done this bit for and it just keeps getting easier. Shreddies are harder to clean because they crumble.
Thank you so much for reminding me of this game! I started playing it when I was 3 or 4 years old and I loved it and the Freddie Fish games so much. I've played through them countless times. Hopefully, one day, I will find all these little games I loved as a kid and will be able to play them again.
I thought this game was a fever dream and I didn't realize it was an actual memory until I found this video by accident. The only thing I remember was the heart river, which I thought was too weird to actually be in a kid's game.
Glad you brought up that younger kids are able to enjoy these games through the click points, even if the puzzles are too difficult. I'm just Bad At Puzzles, so even as a kid in the target age range (or perhaps I wasn't; I don't remember), I would frequently get stuck if I got a particularly bad randomization (read: not the easiest one). So the way me and my younger sibling would play (mostly Freddi Fish and Putt-Putt) was just with click points. Just triggering the songs and animations and voice lines over and over for our little kid enjoyment :)

Who knew the science guy who did the epic videos on the Bogdanoffs and the Schön controversy started off as a reviewer of the best Pajama Sam game (yes, I said it, Part 3 gets no love from big TH-camrs).
This game is my childhood! I had only the tv version however and it had some cut séquences :/ great vidéo !
I never knew you had to Switch the Signs to lower Bean #47 from the Crane as a Kid, so i did the Bean Counter instead

Probably not honestly just because it would be quite a bit of work and I'd like to cover other games. They're all great though!

Okay so I remembered being at a friends house when I was in preschool and she left me alone with her computer and told me not to touch anything on screen but I did and it was a video game and I never remembered what video game it was but now I realize that it was this video game

That's actually always been something I want to do! The problem is the Steam release of 4 is broken and has never been able to launch for me. I'd have to buy a physical copy. Additionally Steam doesn't have One-stop fun shop (I do have that CD still) andI really want to include it since it was a favourite of mine. I'll look into it though!

So I do own the entire Pajama Sam collection on Steam! But the 4th game has a very strange bug preventing it from launching, and I don't think they're planning on fixing it anytime soon. Otherwise I would love to finish up the series.
@@BobbyBroccoli ah shucks! Haha no worries--I was mostly joking, cause I played that one as a kid and remember it being a big departure. Different voice actor for Sam too which was rough. Hopefully someone can figure out a fix cause I'd love to see what you think of it compared to the trilogy!
I've heard it's quite different, I believe it's a result of Atari acquiring Humongous around that time and lots of employees were leaving the company.
@@BobbyBroccoli Ohhh right, I forgot about that! They also made a bad putt putt game I remember playing haha. It's a sad tale :'( I'm hopeful that someday a new HE game will somehow be made, but until then we can always play the classics :)
I'd check out Curator then, they're trying to restore old Humongous game soundtracks with Vinyl releases.

That was the plan! But unfortunately the Steam port is broken and crashes every time you start it. I have no other copy of the game but I've always wanted to come back to the series at some point.
@@BobbyBroccoli If you run it on windows 7 it will work! Pajama Sam 4 isn't combatable with Windows 8 or 10 at this time and most likely will never get updated for the next few more years.
@@S0M3O43 I'll look into that! All the Steam ports run on the SCUMM engine which hasn't run into problems for me on Windows 10, but maybe I'll try Windows 7

@@BobbyBroccoli Here's how to fix that. Download ImgBurn (on the download page, click the Mirror 7 link) and make an ISO file from either the folder or application. Then either double or right click the ISO file to mount it to a virtual CD Drive that'll be automatically created, and that will trick the 2003 Anti Virus protection the game uses that checks for a CD Drive in the computer and causes the game to not work if it doesn't find one.
