Love games that do that. Knowing that gamers won’t do that because that’s just not the game, but having it in there anyway is always a treat. Like Far Cry 4.

Honestly don’t worry about it, half the people in England won’t understand it either. It’s Northern English dialect and quite strong at that. I’m northern and loved it but my southern partner missed some of the jokes too

Fun fact, Barnsworth where this game is set is based on the real town Barnsley and the number you dial for pie mix, 01226, is the number on the front of all Barnsley based businesses. Weird seeing the place I live represented like this but I love it

The title is incredibly funny to me, because there used to be an australian comedy improv show called Thank God You're Here, where a comedian would be presented with a set and prepared actors that would start the scene by going 'thank god you're here! The hospital is on fire/all the bets at wimbledon have just been cashed in/your mother has just found out about your affair' and then the comedian would have to take the scene from there. Really great show.
Same, I was expecting it to be "Thank God You're Here" but all the situations are very British. Also I don't know if you know this already, but they brought it back with Celia Pacquola hosting, and the second season is broadcasting really soon!

To anyone who's wondering, yes this exactly what Britain is like, they always dial it back in tv shows and movies and such because no one outside Britain would believe it.

There’s a fair few. Project Zoo and Curse of the Were-Rabbit are fun games that capture the feel of the films. There’s also Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures, a sort of serialised set of missions, and although I’ve never played it I heard it’s pretty good.

I think this is my favorite genre that doesn’t have a name. A weird comedic game with a unique art style where you just wonder around and random things happen that you would never expect. Later alligator is another game like this, and RT would love that game. There’s also that vr game from the creators of Rick and Morty. I need more of these❤

the brand new mops from 'Jay'n'Mel' (pun on JML)
there are very few contemporary games that capture the comedic spirit of the "pythonesque," mostly due to its extravagantly idiosyncratic silliness, but also due to the fact that all the python's were all college-educated and thus knew perfectly how to mock both the fancy and the crude. this is probably the closest ive seen yet. the way the player character's size varies from screen to screen feels very Terry Gilliam. the foppish town doofus was also a pretty classic comedic character for the pythons. "Then I start foaming at the mouth and fall over backwards!"
I dunno what it is, but something about Yorkshire is inherently funny. Sorry Northerners. The accent is great though.

Actually being from the town this was made in and based off made it a brilliant game to play through. And originally buying the game on a whim I genuinely pointed at the screen seeing the footage of the past of the town I grew up in

I love this game. I am not british but german. I always kind of loved british humor overall. And this world has just a ton of charm in it. It actually feels more alive than a lot of TV shows made for comedy that I kind of forgot I was watching a video from RT playing a game. Hope the guys who made this make even more games with the same passion. Cause this is pure gold.
