I actually had two of these as a kid. When I got my Cantina set, the box of figures was missing. And since my parents ordered it though the Sears catalog, it wasn't as simple as returning it to the store for a replacement. I wrote a letter to Kenner in my best 10-year-old penmanship to tell them how disappointed I was that my set had no figures. About a month later, I received a package from Kenner in the mail containing a letter of apology and the set of four figures. I was thrilled to finally have them. But I was doubly surprised when two weeks later, an identical package arrived containing the same letter and figures. I guess there was some kind of office mix-up. Over time, I wound up trading the other Snaggletooth to a friend, but I still have that first one as part of my collection.
That's the Best story I've heard yet!! And that my friend, is exactly why I love Kenner. They really did care! It shows throughout their products and especially the way they took care of us kids. Really happy to hear they hooked you up! Great story!! Thank you so much for sharing that. Very cool!!
Loved him as a kid, Got a second one buying a lot of figures as an adult, but sold it off. The paint on the boots was worn. I had no idea about the dented boot until just now. Thanks for that bit of information! I'll have to go look at my guy later and see which one he is.
Very informative. I remember when the blue snaggletooth was going for $60 in the 1990s and I thought that was way too high. I regret not buying it then. It was one of the mail in orders that I did not get because I did not start collecting until after that was offered. that and the sandcrawler are the two pieces that I would really like to acquire for my collection.
Love the Sandcrawler! Paid $550 for complete with an OK box over a year and half ago. I’m sure they go for more now. Prices with vintage will only rise. Buy it when you see it, Amigo!
I'm so glad your channel popped up on my list to watch. Your videos are so great because we can see and hear how excited you are towards Kenner Star Wars, it makes me want to hety collection growing faster. Thank you!!
I’m happy to hear you enjoy the channel so much! Please feel free to share it with any other fellow Star Wars enthusiasts like yourself. Always glad to connect with folks who have the same passion I have for Star Wars 🙌🏻
I would definitely share this channel if I had someone who was into Kenner figures. My daughters bf loves SW, but he's into the Black Series. I have some also, but I think Kenner is cooler, just because it's the history of SW.
Its cool that Kenner gave kids options back then to acquire said action figures! Thanks for watching, Tim! Also, I just dropped a Boba Fett unboxing video - check it out!
I never had a blue actually never seen one in real life I had the cantina play set but don’t remember getting any figures in it. I’d love a blue but I got kids to feed so I got to show love to my old red.
Love your videos GQ Jedi. I look forward to at least 2 of them every week now. I only have a no toe dent Blue Snag. I was told that the toe dent variation was because of a piece of trash lodged in the mould. I got this rumor from a Star Wars Facebook page I follow! Keep up the good work.
Thank you very much for always tuning in!! Appreciate the kind words and support, Javier! Is that right? I can believe that. Didn’t seem like a Kenner employee would take it upon himself to make a variant. Haha. If true, makes sense. Stay tuned for more SW videos 🤘🏻
Great video GQ. With those boots he's definitely the king of disco in the Star Wars universe. Good research too. The whole Star Wars holiday special photo reference has always made me laugh. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
@@GQJedi Yep! I touched on the same topic in my Blue Snag video. When you think about it there no real repusentation of red snag in the original movie.
Blue Snaggletooth is the only figure we do not have. But to be fair, we are in Australia and Blue Snaggletooth was never released here, so we do have a complete Australian figure collection.
I once had the same school of thought as you did. Yak Face was never released in the States, it was only released in Europe and Canada. After completing my loose figure set, months later I ended up buying a Yak Face figure. It's the completionist in all of us. You never know, someday you may find yourself owning the old blue Snaggletooth.
Great video and one of the last figures I need to complete my Kenner collection, however these are just too pricy on ebay now and I missed the boat on the Stan Solo reproduction run. I’m making my own custom using a vintage Red Snaggletooth and 3d printed legs I purchased from the TrashCompactor off ETSY. In an effort to the match the blue color as close to the Kenner original, could someone compare their original Blue Snaggletooth with another Kenner figure that is blue and let me know what color is a close match? I’m thinking either Power Droid or Hoth Han might be close colors for me to try and match? It's hard to tell from photos and some blue Snaggletooths appear lighter than others, probably due to fading.
With you on that one, got mine when I was about 15, after ROTJ, the toe dent, he's still standing absolute mint in the cabinet. Means the no dent thta needs to be added gotta be mint aswell, that will def set me back a bit. Nice vid man, always enjoy to get in the nostalgic moods 👍🏼
Never had old blue, and still don’t but I do intend to get one some day, I can imagine him doing some kinda JT Saturday night fever style dance in the cantina all on his own! Lol, the guy is boss!! Enjoyed it as always GQ 👍

Never had the blue one, but Red Snag is one of my top 10 favorite vintage Star Wars figures. He's my little buddy. :) I especially think he looks great with an Imperial rifle rather than the "Solo"/Rebel blaster. You may be well aware, but the dark blue plastic on the torso of the Blue Snag is subject to becoming very brittle over time. I've heard horror stories of Blue Snag figures falling apart on the shelf, especially if not stored in the proper "climate". The dark blue LEGO pieces (and the brown pieces) are under the same threat being the most brittle, unfortunately. It's got to be the dye in dark blue plastics that make it unstable (?). Thanks for the video :)
I too have heard horror stories about ol Blue. Yikes! I honestly don’t know why this happens. But if the same thing is happening with Lego pieces then perhaps you are right. The blue dye could be the culprit. Either way, it’s a bummer.

Very nice examples he looks like Ace Frehley with those boots
He’s definitely a flashy front man for some band in the Outer Rim 🤘🏻🔥

Gotta love Old Blue!
Great video on Blue Snaggletooth. I have never owned one but it looks very cool. Great Video!
Thanks, Mike! Thanks for tuning in, brother!
I used to think Blue Snaggletooth was one of the ugliest figures, but now I LOVE him! Like you said, those BOOTS are so amazing.
Haha! He is pretty cool. Its all about those Go Go Boots! LOL
I’ve got one blue without the dent. I acquired him in the 90’s as an adult.
Nice!!! Love to hear it.
i would love a bluesy, maybe one day dent or no dent both of them are mint.
Ol Blue was one of the figures I got earlier on in my collection. Lucky to grab both versions in 2 lots I bought.
Great channel!!!

@@GQJedi Not dented! (also foot paint was worn more than memory told me it was, guess I need an upgrade - and the other variant 🙄)
Upgrades are worth it. Then sell the older one to recoup some cash.
I still have old Blue, the silver is kinda worn but most of it is still there. Mine is the one without the dent.
Rad that you have a Blue! Some folks can’t say that. Cheers 🍻
