As someone who also holds my vintage Kenner Star Wars collection near and dear, I'm relieved for you that the earthquake merely toppled over various figures, but there was no permanent damage and amazingly, no damage to your glass display cases either. Whew!
This happened to me in 83 as a kid living on Adak Island, AK. Middle of the pitch black night there was a minor tremor. All I heard were my Joe and Star Wars setups being devastated. I remember yelling, "Noooo!" I did rebuild back better.
So glad to hear from you and that your collection is safe. None of my figures were knocked down, every single one of them have stands. I felt the earthquake from work and my figures were the first thing I thought about after calling my wife.
Im so sorry for your mishap. That must have taken an hour to replace, exhausting. I completely borrowed your set up for my kenner stuff, and I definitely need those stands.
Glad to see there wasn’t too much damage, brother. Although, I’m guessing the Cantina and Jabba’s palace get messy most nights after some hard partying!!! The display looks as awesome as ever. 👍🏻
Glad to hear everything is okay sorry for your mishap you know the old saying when the Masters away Kenner will play me and my wife like to watch your content it's light-hearted and entertaining and very influential I can't wait to see your next content for new fan made products an Antiques as well
I live in an earthquake prone area, too. A few years ago my big Darth Vader fell and took out heaps of figures. These days, I use clear figure stands. They look great and I don't have to worry about them falling over. Looks like your figures that had stands were fine. Cheers
Glad to hear that there was no major damage...and that the Detolfs held up through it all. On a brighter note, you get to play with...I mean set up your displays😅
Quakes are no joke. Despite all the falls though, I'm glad to see that it wasn't worse. Looked like a lot of clean up & reorganizing buddy. Figure stands did some damage control. If nothing else, you got to get your hands back on your collection. Hopefully no more quakes any time soon. 🙏
Well I'm glad they survived man. No chance of an earthquake here in the UK. Flood from a nearby river is my biggest concern and sometimes haunts me in my sleep.
@@GQJedi I posted my comment about 2/3 of the way through the video. Didn’t realize at the end, everything would be restored back to its original state. Great job man….but as a diehard vintage Kenner collector myself I can totally relate how stressful that must’ve been.
I'm in Portland, OR and I feel ya! My collection would be all over the place even if we had a small quake of 4.0. I have my collection insured just in case.
@@GQJedi I took a Personal Items policy out with State Farm since I have my rental and car insurance through them. For $60,000 of coverage, I pay like $150 a year premium I think.
Thank the Maker that your glass cabinets didn't break! That would have been terrible. It'll be a pain in the neck to have to set everything back up but at least nothing is broken. That Chewie looks interesting! Is he a custom figure? The bowcaster is certainly different. Some of their new positions are pretty funny! I have felt a few tremors here in Las Vegas, but just enough to make a ceiling light sway a bit. I agree, figure stands are a great idea. I especially like the wide, round disc bases. There are some that are sold by some really great fellow collectors out there. Glad nothing broke. You must have done a great job putting those shelves together.
Nice too see & hear no damage, besides figure stands only other option is to move from California to avoid earthquakes lol. Sure you wont do that. Blessings that everything is okay.
It's quite odd you uploaded this because earthquakes vs. Star Wars vintage has been on my mind a lot lately. We had 9 tremors in 9 hours the other day in my area in Australia. And Australia on the whole has been having an unusual amount of earthquakes in recent weeks and months. If my bedroom ceiling goes 70 percent of my collection will be destroyed the way I have it set up at the moment. I'm seriously thinking about packing it all away because I know something is brewing. We are long overdue for another big one. It will be a lot of money and effort down the drain...
Glad nothing was destroyed or damaged! Say do you GQ or anyone following this channel have a separate insurance policy for their Vintage Kenner Star Wars collection? If so how much coverage did you purchase and does anyone know roughly the value of a Kenner Star Wars vintage collection?
Amazing how an eartquake in California had consequences on Tatooine...:D Anyway if that's all you've suffered from this plague, light a candle to your patron saint, as we say 'round here...
BIG ? ,will leaving the figures on their foot stands for long periods damage the feet peg holes to where they won’t grig any more to stand at all. Have u had any of these issues yet.
Glad to see that there wasn’t too much damage. But much worse than this are the recent remarks by Mark Hamill. I think he’s just effectively cut the value of your collection in half with his mouth.

Thanks, pal. I'm very lucky. Grateful. Phew is Right!

Dang. That sounds terrible. Stuff of nightmares.
Honestly impressed that the Detolf cabinets held up so well. Glad for you that there was no major damage. Nice recovery and great curating!
Amen! Thanks, brother!

Thanks for your concern. Absolutely sucked being out of town and not knowing what was going on here. Phew.

Stands are necessary.

They suuuure do!! Those rowdy sentient beings. You know how they roll!! Hahaha! Thanks, brother
Looks like a good time to do some dusting and rethink some of the arrangements. I am glad there is no real damage!
Absolutely! Me too;)

Oh right on! Too funny. Glad You and the Mrs enjoy the channel! Cheers
I'm glad there was no permanent damage. I enjoyed your jokes about the mishap!
Thank you ;)

Stands make all the difference in the world!
I'm sorry about the earthquake, prayers to you and your neighbors, figure stands do help out
Thank you so much!
Wow! Glad everything survived, well everything except that Hoth Rebel Soldier being eaten by the Tauntaun LOL!
Tauntaun's revenge!!!
Glad to hear that there was no major damage...and that the Detolfs held up through it all.

Yes. I did get to “play” a bit while picking everything up.

I’ve felt and been thru plenty before. Never fun.
The experience this time did allow me to assess my collection for upgrades.
Good to hear from ya!
Well I'm glad they survived man. No chance of an earthquake here in the UK. Flood from a nearby river is my biggest concern and sometimes haunts me in my sleep.
Thanks, me too!! Yikes. Stay dry.
The collection is looking good, brother. Here in East Texas it's hurricanes we worry about
Thank you! And MTFBWY and your collection!!!
First off , glad to hear you're ok, didn't hear about the earthquake.
Thank you!
That’s gonna take a LONG time to fix! Good luck man!
Thanks.

Oh good!
Even all wrecked your collection still looked awesome.
Oh thanks, man!

That sounds legit. Awesome. I might look into it.
Glad everyone made it
Me too!!!
At times like this the Death Star definitely needs safety railings
Oh my God. Yes!! LOL! Best comment so far, buddy!!
OSHA complaint right there!!!
FOR SURE! LOL

If you're talking about the Chewie in the Hoth setup, Yes, he's a custom figure from Keepers Kustoms. Thankfully, nothing broke!!
Bummer, still, at least it's a good excuse to get the feather duster out.
Looks like young Skywalker was teaching master Yoda there a lesson ... 🤣
You aren’t kidding! LOL

Dang, mate. That doesn’t sound good. I would be bothered by that info as well! I hope you guys don’t get too rattled anymore. Stay safe.
When a display goes from Star Wars to Disney Star Wars.
Guessing by that you mean, things went south.
Glad nothing was destroyed or damaged! Say do you GQ or anyone following this channel have a separate insurance policy for their Vintage Kenner Star Wars collection? If so how much coverage did you purchase and does anyone know roughly the value of a Kenner Star Wars vintage collection?
Thank you. I don’t have insurance but I hear some folks do. Collection values vary based on the collection and condition of pieces.
Definitely a impressive collection!
Thank you!
Where did you get the display cabinets from
At IKEA back when they used to make them this way.
Oh let’s not pretend any of us dosent miss “any” opportunity to rearrange our collection.😂
As long as no one was hurt xxx
That's too funny, man. Haha!
2:20 😳
😂
Glad to see nothing was permanently damaged. Maybe it's time to get out of Cali. There's room here in Cincinnati; the birthplace of Kenner.
Thanks. Me too. Ah no, I’m good. Take a lot more than Kenner to get me to move to the Midwest. Been there. Done that.
@@GQJedi LOL.
All the figures had a all night rave!🎉
Hahaha!
I hope theres room in the Cantina for the Tonnika Sisters!
I’ve definitely been thinking about them and where they will go.
The ss ones? They are stunning!!
Yes. Those SS ladies.
Amazing how an eartquake in California had consequences on Tatooine...:D
Anyway if that's all you've suffered from this plague, light a candle to your patron saint, as we say 'round here...
Amen 🙏🏻 I’m very lucky !
Starwars toy story bar fight in the cantina some fallen figures spiked drinks at jabbas palace. Could've been worse with the quake
Absolutely! I’m grateful it was just some heavy drinking for them. Ha!
What’s shaking man?! Oh I guess the collection was 📈 😬
Everything, bruddah! Crazy. You know how it goes. 🤛🏻
Oh man, the dark side has reared it's ugly head once again. Call in the Jedi! Thanks for sharing brother, may the force be with you.
It sure has. MTFBWY, my friend!
Wow. Could’ve been worse. Glad it’s not.
Me too, pal. Me too!
To be fair mate it was a good job they are in detolfs, imagine them all on shelves, you would of been there for days sorting them out.
I know! Trust! That would've been a nightmare for sure. I'm lucky.
Move to ireland we only get wimd and rain every day, not too bad but your figures will survive 😊....
Haha. Such a trade off.
BIG ? ,will leaving the figures on their foot stands for long periods damage the feet peg holes to where they won’t grig any more to stand at all. Have u had any of these issues yet.
Me? No. I’ve never seen or heard anything to support that theory.
Glad to see that there wasn’t too much damage. But much worse than this are the recent remarks by Mark Hamill. I think he’s just effectively cut the value of your collection in half with his mouth.
Could care a less what his politics are or what remarks he’s made. I don’t buy things or place value based on what other people say or do.
Glad everythings ok looks like your figures did to much partying thay got drunk and passed out 😊👍
Thanks! Yes 🍻
I lived in Japan 8 years...earthquakes aint fun.
No they are not.
Move my friend before the Big one hits! 😱 I live in Texas and it's nice here. 🙂🤘🏼
Texas is too hot for my liking.
Frustrating, but isn’t setting them up ultimately the fun part?
At least nothing broke!
“What you’re saying is true, from a certain point of view.”
Yes! Thankfully nothing broke.
This is what happens when you let droids in the Cantina!!!
LMAO
Stay safe sir God bless
You too!
Tragedy? You don't know the meaning of tragedy until your kenner dolls degrade and get stuck to each other
Good thing I’m not worried about that ever happening there, guy.
MADRE DE DIOS!!!!!
You can say that again!
So the "tragedy" is some figures fell over? :P
It's either a victory or a tragedy. So in this case, it was the lesser.
you poor thing
LMAO
this is a first world problem
TH-cam is a first world problem if you want to go that route.
"tragedy"? rather comedy
Glad you got the joke.
it’s a little tone deaf to use the word tragedy and your action figures in the same sentence. Sorry some of them got knocked over.
Thanks for sharing your opinion of my thumbnail for the video.
Lighten up, Francis.
