CORRECTION: The lens hood actually IS detachable - but it just takes way more torque than I expected to take it off. ► GET THE LENS HERE: www.venuslens.net/product/laowa-10mm-f-2-8-ff-zero-d/ref/1233/
Thank you for the review. I have the Laowa 10mm in the auto focus version for Nikon Z mount. In Lightroom and Camera Raw there is a lens profile for the 10mm that was selected automatically, since there are contacts to communicate with the camera. But the lens was listed under Nikon lenses, odd. And while the profile correction fixed most of the vignetting I find I still have to dial in more correction manually. But it is a great lens for auroras. Cheers!
Many thanks for the review. I'm considering replacing my Laowa 9mm F5.6 FF RL, which is great but is slow. I miss the brighter aperture for the Aurora. Kamil, how do you explain that in Albert Dros's review, the lens has a much worse performance on the corners, where stars are distorted and look like lines? Do you think this might be due to improper focusing?
Hard to say but sometimes if the quality control in the factory is not the best we might end up with good and bad copies of the lens. Maybe he got a bad copy?
thanks for sharing i see there is also the 12mm f/2.8 Zero-D for RF mount what do you think? It would have a little less distortion no? on the other hand in exposure time, it falls to 41seconds instead of 50 any opinion? Thanks
Hello! Tell me what to do if I have a Canon R camera and I need a wide-angle fixed lens with autofocus. Is there really no lens that matches my request? Because I really liked this Laowa 10mm lens, but it doesn't have autofocus...
@kamilkp I would like to photograph people in interesting locations, for this I want a wide-angle lens so that as much as possible fits into the picture :)

Having the core of MW and Andromeda galaxy in the same FOV is insane!
Other, cheaper, wider fisheye lenses allow this.
Thank you for the video. Just got the lens and learning a lot from you for lightroom
Hope your parrot is no longer alone. It's kind of an animal that needs at least one friend
That’s a nice integration on the background! How many hours does it have?
You mean the cygnus loop shot? Around 10h I think

I think i’d go with the 10mm. It is pretty impressive to have the widest f/2.8 rectilinear lens that exists at your disposal
@@kamilkp thanks

Do you wanna shoot portraits with it?

Fun to play with it
Been eyeing the TT Artisan 11MM F/2.8. it costs like $215 and performs well for that price
that lens is a fisheye tho?
@@brookscurran it's rectilinear I think. B&H review photos look pretty nice for $215
@@kalef1234 "Offering a uniquely wide angle of view, the TTArtisan 11mm f/2.8 is a fisheye lens" that's what i'm seeing for $215
@brookscurran exactly. I do have it too and I like it for bts timelapses and stuff but it is a fish whereas the Laowa is not
Fisheye Lens is hard to correct distortion
Some more reasons to take the Laowa MF 9mm f/5.6 instead (and soon much wider).
..No way; You don't know about that ???
2.8 > 5.6 for astrophotography...
@@brookscurran Ok. It's true I don't ever do astro and don't know that field of requirements.
