Finger Maiden Therolina's extremely simple moveset of either a healing spell or a holy pot normally don't make her an appealing puppet to summon… however, she turns the lower level of the Brace of the Haligtree that's crawling with multiple Royal Remnants into an absolute cakewalk - *because she hard counters them.* A niche pick, but one that utterly wrecks one of the game's most hated enemies might be a solid tip to help some folks.
The set does exactly what it says it'll do. It doesn't say it boosts "Glintstone Sorceries" it says it'll boost "Glintstone Sorcery Skills", Rogier (the NPC who drops the set) also drops/gives a Rapier with a Glintstone Sorcery AOW (Carian Phallanx) on it.
The Wing of Astel: There was a very interesting professor in the 60's or 70's (or even earlier), he find out that certain bugs don't use their wings to fly, but to create a frequency between the wings and their shell, and that make them fly! So maybe the Wing of Astel taps into the frequency of its origin, as soon as you're getting near the enemy!?
Did you know you can use braggards roar ash of war, then use the charged running heavy attack twice, it gets massively boosted by roar medallion, axe talisman spiked cracked tear, AND ALSO BY HAVING THE HIGHLAND AXE ON YOUR OFF HAND. dealing MASSIVE DAMAGE and you get amazing poise with colossal weapons/swords.
I'd like to note with the with the butchering knife and you use the talisman along with PRAYFUL STRIKE It creates a very nice health stealing build due to the weapons return of health on hits regardless VERY USEFUL FOR ENDGAME AND PVP also hard to kill as mimic tear basically invincible
Black flame works with all ashes of war I'm pretty sure. I use carian phalanx ash of war with black flame and all the blades trigger the black flame status. It of course works with Godrick's grafted arm, and other ranged ashes of war. One I haven't tested though is if using quick step with the briar set and black flame triggers the black flame on dodge. It probably doesn't but it would be funny lol.
The Spellblade's set increased Ruinous Ghostflame's damage by only ~5% because the Shard of Alexander and magic scorpion talismans were equipped, which all stack additively! WIthout them, the difference between naked and full Spellblade's should be 8%.

Bats that are hanging at the ceiling, are also considered as flying. Bosses like Astel and dragons, are sadly undisturbed when performing airborne moves. Actually really funny because I am going through the game with a magic/melee wearing the Spellblade set but I'm using Wing of Astel but was thinking of using the Dark Moon Greatsword. Also I have something interesting to share and not sure if anyone has covered it. I found out that Hoarfrost Stomp can climb up walls and hit things on roofs or floors above you if you stomp into a wall. I found out because of the shacks in that one mine you get sent to with that chest transportation trap. I was using the Morning Star with Gravitas for most of the game but changed it to Hoarfrost Stomp for a few bosses I was struggling with. I went into those mines to try to complete it but forgot to change back to Gravitas. I got trapped in one of those shacks. I originally hoped it would go through the wall so I could take out some of the miners that kind of trapped me in there but saw that I killed the Kindred of Rot on the roof. It was a nice little trick to learn. Haven't tested if it goes down walls but I don't think it does.
Bloodflame blade also works with Flame of the Redmanes and Beast Roar, you even get the bleed build up. I know it works with redmanes still after patch I am not sure about beast roar tho
Please bring back the noob/pro pvp invasions! Love the channel, thank you! By the way, Rogier looks like a character from Jack Vance’s dying Earth, and GRRM was a great fan of the great master.
wow, the arrow quiver is such a nice touch. I never noticed that. The black flame buff also works on other ash of wars too. Like the astral lance and blood dart if you make it standard or buffable affinity (keen, heavy, etc...).
Hey I recently found out something kind of random. If you charm an enemy using the bewitching branch. you can actually buff that temporary ally with spells and stuff. not sure if this was covered already in an early episode. If not 👍👍
@@jamaicanbutter another neat thing I just learned today, ash of war "storm wall" can blow away swarm of flies. the swarm will get pushed a little off course and then just kinda stop where they are
I may have found something for your next episode: When twohanding the fallen starbeast jaw or whatever name that weapon has the tarnished puts it over his shoulder. Now try equipping D's chestpiece. What the tarnished does is shifting the back of the weapon a bit lower. It looks like the weapon is too heavy and the tarnished is nearly falling over now. Kinda funny. I tested a view armor pieces and it seems this only happens with D's armor. I didnt try another weapon and dont know if its just a bug or something only happening in my game. But it would be interesting to know if it happens with other players too.
Terra Magica is interesting because it increases the damage of ALL magic damage sources. Not just spells or ashes of war. If you have a magic or cold infused short sword, the part of its damage that deals magic will be increased even on regular attacks. It even stacks with the magic scorpion charm and that flask that raises magic damage.
When dual wielding whips (i used dual hoslow whips) and you jump from torrent then press L1, character will do dual whip attack but only 1 whip extends and deals damage
Thanks for the healing tip. Little tricks like that have saved me while I’m limping my way to a site of grace. The trick where you change Burger King heads repeatedly saved me from losing one of my biggest rune piles when I got stuck in a dungeon. Then again… I just realized that I could have used a sacrificial twig. I’ve got dozens of those cause I always forget they exist.
I knew about the Destined death thing for a while because my first playthrough was an assassin build. Every time I fought her I made sure to end phase 1 with that attack because I noticed she always started with like a quarter health after. ....im just glad ive done ot already, cuz annoyingly whenever youtubers bring up this stuff it gets patched out...still remember when someone got my reload tech removed from Killing floor 2 for the dual spitfires
2:11 my man, you have the Shard of Alexander and Magic Scorpion talismans equiped. That's why your numbers don't add up When testing stuff, you need to isolate the relevant variables. Before you begin testing, unequip all other pieces of gear that may influence the results of the equation
It is still a full 8% buff wearing the set. The reason you only saw a ~5% increase is because the skill you used applied weapon damage as well as skill damage so the skill damage was buffed by 8% but the weapon attack damage wasn't making at appear as though the whole attack was only buffed by ~5%
Not to be rude, but the quiver thing has been a feature since Dark Souls 2. It was in the first one but it simply equipped a quiver when you equipped bolts or arrows on their own. I don't know if the Remaster added this though.
I think you may have misunderstood the destined death and malenia thing. She always starts phase 2 on 80% health. You had destined death on her, but once it runs out she would have been roughly about 80%
About the bit with the black flame+beast roar, that actually seems to work with all insances of damage from almo all ashes of war and all buffs you can apply to the weapon. Originally I thought it was just projectiles such as Ice Spear, Beast Roar, Spectral Lance, Golden Land, Glintstone Pebble, Glintblade Phalanx, etc. Turns out it's any form of damage caused by the weapon, including Ashes of War projectiles and AoEs that benefit from this function. A personal favorite is Bloodflame Blade on a weapon with Golden Land, allowing for ranged bleed buildup on pve and pvp. Obviously, Ashes that override the initial buff won't apply the initial buff's effect, but there's one other category of Ash of War that seems to not retain the buff, being the Wind themed AoWs (Storm Blade, Stormcaller, Storm Stomp, Vacuum Slice were all tested, I'm sorry if I'm missing any of these) as well as Kick, and Hoarfrost Stomp. In addition, for some reason, White Shadow's Lure does apply damage through the Black Flame Blade buff when used, and it does so in a surprisingly large AoE. It's only source of damage is through the buff though, the lure itself deals no damage. By the way, before the latest patch, the buff used to extend further into effecting your offhand shield. This meant you were able to do things such as Royal Knights Resolve buff and use Shield Crash or the One-Eye's cannon and get 80% more damage from the hits while RKR was active. It affected all shields though, not just the ones I mentioned.
In addition to the buffs affecting projectile Ashes of War, both weapons that have passive healing on hit (Butchering Knife and Great Stars) have an additional benefit. You can actually put an Ash with projectiles or even Areas of Effect on these weapons, and every instance of damage will apply the healing normal hits do, meaning you can heavily lean into a sort of "lifesteal" playstyle and never have to use your Crimson Flask by utilizing this passive. Again, Golden Land is a favorite for this, but so is Waves of Darkness and Gravitas.
Hi, I found a face in the tree that occupies the statue spot in the church of the minor Erdtree. I am pretty sure it's the tree guy who is in all of the statues all over Stormveil, the Capital & the round table hold due to a really minor detail of hand placement which can barely be seen in the tree.
The pickaxe is a great hammer but power stances with great axes. I thought it said this in the description at one point, which is how I first learned about it.
so the whole blackflame roar thing is neat and all but... if you're using incantations anyway just use the blackflame fireball one, it's probably gonna be more effective and cost less fp lol (and it can be charged of course)
so I don't know how well it's know to people I didn't find out till my second playthrough but when you first meet rani when she gives you the spirit bell she introduces herself as renna the witch so guess fun fact don't know what it is supposed to mean but maybe yall could point it out and let the more lore friendly hunters explain it.
I think some pve combos would be cool, im talkin about move combos like: cruicibke tail, into cruicibke horn, into dragonclaw, and stuff like that (this only works for pve)
You guys should do a series on spell/incantation range. You could have them all sorted by category (glintstone, dragon, beast, etc..) and see which spell/incantations are not only best range but most effective with best range. Just an idea. Hope you use it.
The Astel tip, it’s a “feature” in quite a few games where I’ve seen randomisers in which enemies in in places they wouldn’t normally be and some of their audio doesn’t work, I assume this would be the case here, probably something in the coding to save data
The Jellyfish Shield - The buff to attack power will not stay if the shield is swapped for something else after activating the buff. When the shield is in left hand any right hand weapon skill is overridden by the shields skill so we need to swap out the shield to be able to activate a weapon skill, (shield becomes useless in this scenario). Seems best case is for a sorcerer as wands for the most part have no skill and the shield can stay equipped, taking advantage of the full buff duration. I think the Buff from the shield should stay active and run its full duration no matter if it is swapped out. This is true for incantations so why not this buff, which stacks with all the good stuff like shard of alexander, scorpion charms, ritual blade talisman? It would be nice to use this to buff weapon skills as well. Moar OP
Golden Vow - I noticed that if GV wears off after a 'wave of gold' from a Sacred Relic sword has been sent off that the damage done is also reduced during the live wave, of which is no longer connected to the player. Using the Palace Approach site of grace the wave of gold was hitting for 4k while the vow was active and I could see the damage reduction happen during a live wave from 4k to 3.4k. *Thought this might be worth mentioning. The damage should not have been reduced on a wave that has already left the player - IMO.
When i fought melania i was using dark moon. It gives frost and a magic debuff. I always noticed she had a big chunk of health missing in her phase 2. Maybe that was why. I thought it was her red flower attack that cost some of her health.
This is a really great tip , altho its kind of hidden for many players.... Specialy Katana players actually. Now we all know Dual Power Stancing Katanas , is regarded as One of the best Power Stancing moves. ( But did you know , you can still maintain the Powerstance move-set while having a Parry Skill window... By pairing a Main Katana on the Mainhand , and using Wakizashi as Off-hand ). While Wakizashi is a Dagger that has the Combined move-set of Katanas , you could actually have Parry Ashe of War within Wakizashi... Giving you a Parry Skill while Power Stancing Katanas. ( This can even Offset you the added weight of a Shield , which is really neat ). At the sametime utilizing your Mainhand Katanas Ashe of War , for other uses when 2 Handing it... This method is truly good for PvP mainly or Invaders. Hope you enjoy this. 👍🏼
Pretty sure Malenia has 1 health bar for the fight, and when she transitions the game heals her to full health manually. Like a super fast regeneration. Because she is taking DOT damage, it probably nullifies her healing.
From what I’ve heard about Elden Ring buffs, is that stacked buffs are not actually stacked. The compounding effects steadily fall off. While logically it should be 8% magus bonus it is a reduced bonus. Think of it as if the buffs are overlapping.
spellblade set increases and only increases the magic damage dealt by weapon arts, no matter which as long as the weapon art have magic damage, and only increase this part of damage.
Have a strange interaction brother n I found, the warming stones heal, blasfimus blade heals after killing, seems to speed up the tick of healing from stones!! Maybe?!?!?! Helps heal up faster
Did you know that you can use a spirit summon and a regular summon in the same boss fight? If the regular summon dies you can negate the fur calling finger thing and summon in your spirit summon.
Why no One ever talk about the fact that there Is a wandering noble sorcerer between Sellen Place and Great epee location that drop a glintstone catalyst with a 100% possibility?
Some of these hidden things and odd interactions makes me wonder.. is it possible to set the tree on fire with frenzy flame then remove it with needle then visit the turtle pope to reset npc agro. Would this flame removal + reset impact Melina in the endings since she'd be alive ? I wonder this because of the conversation with Yura about the flame and not sacrificing her.
@@ghostderazgriz my bad, thanks for the clarification. I do that all the time with the Yura / Shibiri switch. Too bad nothing stood out in your tests but did you find anything else interesting while doing them?
There's a taliman than makes you invisible when you crouch. There's a spell that makes semi invisible There's a staff that increase invisible another talisman to make your spells last longer..such buff or invisble Talisman that increase your charge magic or ash of war. I knock melina on her arss all the time with bolt of gransax dex talisman, strength talisman Golden Vow ( strength/defense) strength/dex phys charge attack increase lighting spear... Im stacking it. Most of my problem is STAMINA meter runs out quick. Your stamina is CAP at 50 You can increase weapon load or bleed/frost negation..but the stamina is still cap at 50. even thou my stamina is at lv 70. They need to fix that...expecailly if Bosses has UNLIMITED stamina. Not sure what the developer where thinking. I guess that makes it harder...but it's just ANNOYING. You can loose stamina vai dodging or rolling too. I watch my mimic kill whatever all the time. i equip different spells for kicks and giggles. 8 slots...I only ONE slot to heal her...She'll use different spells or weapons during combat. I just use edntree HEAL to heal her and me.
You sound like my partner lol. Just manage your stamina bro. I went the entire game with 8 endurance, 16 if I use a heavy weapon. It's not that hard to stop attacking xP
Something that I have been thinking about (and Josh pointed out in his and Cotton's Ranni and Blithe PVP invader cosplay episode) is that Ranni has stacked a bunch of books on her chair so she looks bigger. We have to remember that the puppet body she currently inhabits is not what she originally looked like. When you look at the remains of her original body you can tell that Ranni used to be really tall like the other demi-gods. I think that the implication is that Ranni is self conscious of her new stature and tries to compensate for it by sitting up high. When you first meet her she is also sitting atop a broken wall.
I defeated the Astel in huge cave that resembles a scene of the great beasts that I battled 3 times. The Missbegotten Void is a valuable upgrade to any sorcerer magic weilding wizard. But I'm stumped at a blue force field that will not let me pass without a ring of Fidelity. Where in Oblivion is that?
That Malenia bug is good to know about specifically so that I can *avoid* it. I love the Malenia fight, I sincerely do, and since I'm not a speedrunner I do not need any way to cheese her ever, but it's good to know it exists and how to trigger it simply so I understand exactly what not to use the next time I play the game.
But if I'm sincerely honest in my humble opinion, without being sentimental, and of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my direction but rather looking into this serious matter with a perspective distinction and without condemning anyone's point of view, honestly think and feel that I have nothing to say
to be honest, the more i play elden ring, the more i hate it. I want to like it so bad, but it's sooo frustrating to play. I have zero poise, do barely any damage in late game, and constantly die in a few hits (even though I've got high vigor). The only build that I've had moderate success with is frost/bleed combo and that's part of the problem: there's only a few viable builds in elden ring. So that's PVE, but what about PVP you ask? Well that's worse--all pvp is just people spamming the cheapest, cheesiest attacks possible while they chug health every 5 seconds. Maybe if the game was actually a beauty to look at and play through I could look past my complaints, but it doesn't really look that great either. The erd tree ruins every landscape and every character, and most locations are beyond high fantasy. It all looks like a cartoon or a capcom game from the early 2000s. I hope to one day understand this game. But as of right now, I don't know if i'll ever come to enjoy it (though I did enjoy dark souls/demon's souls)

The Rogier set makes complete sense. It boosts skills, the original names for ashes of war in DS3 was weapon arts or weapon skills, referencing that
Also makes sense because Rogier only sells ashes of war and not sorceries.

so the whole blackflame roar thing is neat and all but... if you're using incantations anyway just use the blackflame fireball one, it's probably gonna be more effective and cost less fp lol
(and it can be charged of course)
I did a full play through with the black flame roar. It was actually a really fun and challenging play style
The Gravitas ash of war will also proc Black-Flame and Bloodflame, along with other buffs on the weapon upon use as well.
Not sure if you've already done this, but the purifying crystal tear cancels the damage from mogh's nihil attack and prevents him from healing.
so I don't know how well it's know to people I didn't find out till my second playthrough but when you first meet rani when she gives you the spirit bell she introduces herself as renna the witch so guess fun fact don't know what it is supposed to mean but maybe yall could point it out and let the more lore friendly hunters explain it.
Moar OP
In altus plateau there are nobles carrying chests and they drop golden runes if killed
I found the long range black flame thing out with using the lightning skill I thought it was known already
All buffs behave this way when ashes of war are involved.
@@ghostderazgriz thanks for the info. :)
After playing through my 5th game I found out maliketh's dialouge changes if you did the beast clergyman quest.
Yes, both the first dialogue of the fight and when he kills you.
9:00 works on most AoW to my knowledge, I've seen it on gravitas I use it on phantom slash etc
When i fought melania i was using dark moon. It gives frost and a magic debuff. I always noticed she had a big chunk of health missing in her phase 2. Maybe that was why. I thought it was her red flower attack that cost some of her health.
Rogier sells glintstone ashes of war, so it makes sense that his set boosts them.
Yeah, Fromsoft cares deeply about the attention to detail. It makes sense Rogier's set effects ashes of war if you look at what he sells.
spellblade set increases and only increases the magic damage dealt by weapon arts, no matter which as long as the weapon art have magic damage, and only increase this part of damage.
Different arrows' aesthetic can be seen as soon as ds2... 😏
Yep
Have a strange interaction brother n I found, the warming stones heal, blasfimus blade heals after killing, seems to speed up the tick of healing from stones!! Maybe?!?!?! Helps heal up faster
Change the "Program" from Agressive TE to Analog Base 1 TE inside the GMS setup equlizer panel..
Not sure if this has ever been mentioned but you can back dash out of a Transport trap that chests have. If it has I’ll go back to my cave again
There is talisman to make the black flame last few seconds longer but in fight it works well
Can't wait to hear about the "new" old ash of war that everyone already knows about
It increase the base damage if you have the magic talismant equiped of course you won't se a direct 8% damage increase with the armor
you can use the mourning star collosal weapon, I usually add bloodflame and use the tree avatar skill cause holy bleed
Golden Land it's called
thank you so much. all my FP was spent dying by her hand
Thank y’all for keeping this series going. I thoroughly enjoy all the Elden Ring content. ✌️
Same
Did you know that you can use a spirit summon and a regular summon in the same boss fight? If the regular summon dies you can negate the fur calling finger thing and summon in your spirit summon.

Why no One ever talk about the fact that there Is a wandering noble sorcerer between Sellen Place and Great epee location that drop a glintstone catalyst with a 100% possibility?
8% damage is not worth the ugly fashion in my opinion lol
Agreed. We really do not have nearly enough equipment with unique *good* passive effects.
That was Shabriri, not Yura, and no it doesn't work. Not in my tests.
@@ghostderazgriz my bad, thanks for the clarification. I do that all the time with the Yura / Shibiri switch. Too bad nothing stood out in your tests but did you find anything else interesting while doing them?
There's a taliman than makes you invisible when you crouch.
There's a spell that makes semi invisible
There's a staff that increase invisible
another talisman to make your spells last longer..such buff or invisble
Talisman that increase your charge magic or ash of war.
I knock melina on her arss all the time with bolt of gransax
dex talisman, strength talisman
Golden Vow ( strength/defense)
strength/dex phys
charge attack increase
lighting spear...
Im stacking it.
Most of my problem is STAMINA meter runs out quick.
Your stamina is CAP at 50
You can increase weapon load or bleed/frost negation..but the stamina is still cap
at 50. even thou my stamina is at lv 70.
@@ghostderazgriz errrr...relic/melina/blood twins on my right..2 red bolts, lighting spear/ 3 flying dic/cold dragon air. It's purdy when I play :-p
I assumed that anything that boosted ‘skills’ specifically meant ashes of war and sword arts.
The Wing of Astel and the Siege Weapon stuff was already in your last video. Just saying ;)
How are you changing the arrow types in the quiver?
Something that I have been thinking about (and Josh pointed out in his and Cotton's Ranni and Blithe PVP invader cosplay episode) is that Ranni has stacked a bunch of books on her chair so she looks bigger. We have to remember that the puppet body she currently inhabits is not what she originally looked like. When you look at the remains of her original body you can tell that Ranni used to be really tall like the other demi-gods. I think that the implication is that Ranni is self conscious of her new stature and tries to compensate for it by sitting up high. When you first meet her she is also sitting atop a broken wall.
Crystal darts make eerdtree burial watchdogs fight eachother
What kinda rob do you have on and where did you get it?
Question. Has anyone ever investigated the sound made when resting at a site of grace with the Sword of Milos equipped?
It's only louder cuz ur underground & sound resonates
I defeated the Astel in huge cave that resembles a scene of the great beasts that I battled 3 times. The Missbegotten Void is a valuable upgrade to any sorcerer magic weilding wizard. But I'm stumped at a blue force field that will not let me pass without a ring of Fidelity. Where in Oblivion is that?
The ring is in a chest next to rennala
Elden ring is still just so amazing
So what im hearing is I can make moonveil absolutely absurd
does Rogier's set also increase like Loretta's Slash skill?
What about the wing next to the falling star beasts?
First one was kinda obvious most people know skills are ashes of war
can the roar or burning roar interrupt melanias ability?
Astels are weak against their own damage type
That Malenia bug is good to know about specifically so that I can *avoid* it.
I love the Malenia fight, I sincerely do, and since I'm not a speedrunner I do not need any way to cheese her ever, but it's good to know it exists and how to trigger it simply so I understand exactly what not to use the next time I play the game.
Still nothing about Margits golden hammer roll thing…
But if I'm sincerely honest in my humble
opinion, without being sentimental, and
of course without offending anyone who
thinks differently from my direction but
rather looking into this serious matter
with a perspective distinction and without
condemning anyone's point of view,
honestly think and feel that I have nothing
to say
That got me good XD
Oh. A reason to alter armor.
I did a right click and drag on the soft roll, now if I click Play the position clock starts but my ti cursor does not move and I cant

Holo, the game makes a big distinction between "skills" and "sorceries" there are talismans that help make this distinction
to be honest, the more i play elden ring, the more i hate it.
