I once saw a video of where one of the big magic flowers in the Lakes region did their long range glintstone attack. The player used “Eternal Darkness”, basically a black hole spell, on it. The magic projectiles would the spin in a circle, and continue spinning until it times out. Even if the black hole times out first, the missiles would continue their arc. This means that the projectiles have their own targeting, and eternal darkness changes its TARGETING, not just its MOTION. Both cool and pretty at the same time!

Both of the Full Moon sorceries do the same thing, but they also cancel any spells that hit them directly. They're both really effective against enemy attacks like the Bubbles from the Envoys at the Haligtree as well.
@@PierceArner I think Ranni's version has the added frost effect but Rennala's doesn't.
@@AscendantStoic Ranni's has frost, but both of them pull in magic towards them and nullify any it comes into direct contact with.
Important caveat on the twig effect, it does not take effect if you die due to deathblight. This is an intentional thing, and is also seen with the ring of sacrifice in dark souls 3 and the curse effect.
In Dark Souls 1 too , thats the use for the other ring the rare ring of sacrifice.
Btw the way sometimes u enter a catacomb u can’t beat and leave to come back when stronger. If u forget what catacomb it is u can fast travel out of all catacombs u have beaten the boss of that catacomb. If u didn’t beat the main boss of that catacomb u can’t fast travel out of it. That’s how I found dungeons I didn’t finish bc u can leave at any time inside the catacomb if the main boss is defeated. I haven’t seen anyone mention this yet. Maybe u have and I didn’t see that vid idk.

Thank you imma doing a full run and this is the best advise I've gotten to really truly beat the game and save me hours
I'm not sure if it's been patched out yet or not, but there was/is a way to get two (or more) Serpent Hunter Spears in one playthrough.
You need to NOT get the Haligtree Medallion, either one, before reaching the Audience Pathway.
Once you have the Audience Pathway grace, go get the medallion from Albus.
Then go straight back and into the boss room to pick up the spear. This room and encounter has a unique interaction where, as long as you don't approach the serpent, you can open the map.
Pick up the spear, then go to the Roundtable Hold. No need to quit out, you just can.
And get killed by Ensha. Ensha always invades and attacks when you return with the Haligtree Medallion half. When he does, let him kill you. You will respawn at your last site of grace, the Audience Pathway.
The Serpent Hunter will still be there. So you can get two (or three, or however many you want). Then to break the loop, just start the bossfight, or go back and kill Ensha to stop the encounter from happening again.
dual-wielding Serpent Hunters and spamming the crouch-attack makes the whole fight go way, way faster.
The other way is to invade and wait for the ‘invading’ message, enter boss area pick up weapon then you invite another player, when you come back you can pick up another.
When you hit yourself with the flail while wearing the deathbed dress, you also hurt everyone near you who would heal from the deathbed dress, that's how I accidentally aggravated one of the merchants near the bell bearing hunter in Caelid.
Another thing about weapons types: you can't parry a flail. Not that useful in PvE as few npcs use it, but if you get an invader a bit too reliant on parry, switch weapon and watch them wondering why their beloved trick doesn't work anymore.
Don't use fire on the Flowers that spew the Madness stuff. They go berserk if you set them on fire.
Depends mister Maruki, it's actually good to cancel their animation. I would say use with moderation

@@phillipmbise23 in altus plateau mainly, but I remember some near frenzied village on liurnia, and on the first path of ainsel main river (especifically where the coffin leads to)

Hey Hollow! Hope I'm not too late. But I have another yet for me personally very interesting little detail about elden ring, almost noone even thought about!!
In Elden Ring you can find (in some cavern i Caelid) a Wakizashi. The Wakizashi itself is one of elden ring many daggers.
A Wakizashi is a Japanese short sword, similar to a very short Katana. Usually in Japan the Wakizashi was used in tandem with a full length sword like a katana.
And here is the detail I really appreciate; If u then use the Wakizashi as a Dagger in Elden Ring alongside one of the Katanas, you will powerstance them! Even they are both different weapons classes!! I love that!
The Mohg blood thing is also true for Kindred of Rot with Rot/poisoning. They also have the affect of their respective talisman.
Gonna add to this, since it suits what I was gonna comment.
I once noticed that the Cleanrot Knights at times get these red damage buff lines after they hit me a few times.
This very much makes sense as there is the Winged Sword Insignia and Rotten Winged Sword Insignia, which are both talismans which lorewise had been granted to those serving Malenia and give damage buffs for successive attacks.
This also makes the Cleanrot Knights always dual-wielding more logic, as it allows them to get off hits more rapidly. I really appreciate the thought they put into this.
Well I'm pretty sure not many people know just how different the base game is compared to the updated version I'm talking about version 1.00 it's literally hard mode because you don't have damage negation I think everyone should do a playthrough of it also rivers of blood originally had blood blade there is tons of missing stuff etc. Just try it out it's pretty much like playing a unfinished version of elden ring even tho it's the full game
Colossal Weapons can trigger the Crimson & Cerulean Dagger talisman effects twice. It goes off between the initial and the final hit, but it doesn't do that for weapons like Hammers that also use that double strike animation, so not sure if it's a bug (but it still works with the most recent patch).
With the stagger from Flame of the Redmanes it makes for kind of a hilarious but weirdly effective way to restore your health with "stealth" attacks using the game's most gigantic weapons.
The double critical healing aslo work with dagger weapon.
Damn, imma have to try that.
The Deathbed Dress bug reminds me of my teenage years and my first 5 minutes with my brand new nunchuks.
The flask version also has the rune drop saving effect where if you die and drop runes as part of death , if you drink the pot every time you can die multiple times and not lose them not sure if more than two deaths to keep (three if you include the death that droped the runes).
For home ward bone the is an item that kills you on request, (looks like a grace item) combined with the twig tear or talisman you get free deaths.
as long as you can drink and collect runes after first death or die during flask window runes will not be lost. meaning if it takes you 30 tries to recover runes possible. as long as you remember to drink before your death. the window to prevent rune loss seems to last longer than the flask itself slightly it seems also.
if you use the grace item you still lose your runes even if you used a twig or the twiggy flask

While there's no Homeward Bone, there is a Homeward BOOM, mix the twig tear and the explosive one and there you go!
You can actually take the quit out one step further with a cheeky tactic that’s been in every souls games. If you’re going to die from fall damage and manage to quit out before landing you’ll load back in right where you were before falling off and be saved.

Very useful muscle memory for the Haligtree, frenzy flame (the part you have to do those crazy platforming to get frenzy flame seal), and deeproot depths. Saved myself dozens of times
idk if this is a secret or not, but for the tree sentinel fight before maliketh. he doesn't attack you right away. he will stroll up to you pretty close. I would perform a polite bow, and he would get even closer before raising his weapon. like he accepted the duel or something. i thought it was an interesting interaction and one of my favorite fights in the game.
You must be a demon cuz I swear that fucker is tougher than Maliketh himself
I am sharing this because I haven't seen anyone talk about it, but Thops barrier (spell) is the perfect defense for elden stars
4:50 be careful though fire works on most flowers but the frenzy flowers have a very different effect, also found something interesting for pvp invaders, the markers you leave around your map also appear in the host world as an invader, so if your fighting a gang squad and loosing, mark areas where you know tough enemies are so you have a save zone to fallback to!
Varre's quest still has me a bit salty. It's the only side quest in the game that requires you to go online in order to progress it. So it's basically dead for anyone that doesn't play online or can't get online access.
I definitely feel the same way about it. I wish that the game would allow you to accomplish it tied to something like the Great-Jar's fight against 3 player-based NPCs. It definitely feels like there are mechanics in the game that would allow for that to be possible, even if they were simulated invasions like what you do with Volcano Manor.

@@phillipmbise23 For me, it's mostly thinking about it from a perspective where some people don't have PS+ for online, but also making sure that certain paths for things in the game don't become permanently locked out when the servers go offline for good which is inevitable.
99% sure you can use the volcano manor contracts to count as your invader kills for the Varre questline. I think also helping dude at academy. You simply need to be an invader. Does not need to be online.

Related to sending Radahn for a swim- if you pull the annoying teleporting Banished Knight in Castle Sol from the tower overlooking him, and then immediately turn so your back is to the sheer drop, he'll teleport behind you, appear in mid-air, and plummet to his richly-deserved doom. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
Dang, does he raise a sign on a stick that says "HELP?" like Wile E. Coyote before plummeting?

I sometimes like to use the twiggy tear with the exploding tear in my physick just in case I can kamikaze the last hit on the enemy and know for sure I'm saving my runes instead of maybe beating that enemy with no health and expired twiggy time for the next enemy.

Not a functional secret, but you can see the Giant's Forge from the First Step, and you can see the Haligtree from Altus Plateau, just outside the first set of Leyndell's walls, near where all the catapults are stationed. Blew my mind the first time I noticed those.
I absolutely love Elden Rings open world, it’s nothing new to spot locations from far away but Elden Ring has taken this to the next lvl cuz I just assumed it was impossible to actually see the mountain tops from Leyndell but you definitely can
I'm a newbie at the game (and it's my first From Software game too - imagine just how much I've died!) and I'm constantly struck by how massive it actually is. Like, I've only just completed Raya Lucaria and gone up the Grand Lift of Dectus and it feels like I'm barely anywhere yet. It's breathtaking.

The flail and dress combo has to be intentional. There's no way the flail accidentally hits you in the head. The weapon never hurts you any other time. You can't accidentally stab yourself with a sword, or stub your toe on your great hammer.
It may well be intended.
If it never gets patched, I just think it's From saying fighting in a dress is kind of a bad idea.

I made that bleed build with the grave scythe and spinning weapon ash of war. Insane damage, I took out the Fire Giant in seconds. I’ve dubbed it the “Cheese Wheel” and now only use it if there’s a problem lol owe it all to you guys

You cannot teleport out of any catacombs in general where the boss of that catacomb is still alive that's why Pureblood knight's Medal is not usable, you have to defeat the boss of the catacombs for Pureblood Knight's Medal to work same as teleporting.
6:39 same thing with bone ash mask in Bloodborne. to get the head piece, you need to progress through chalices until the boss with flaming swords I've forgotten the name of, and when you beat them you can simply get the hat for 2 insight.
Hare's a few tips for ya RG. You can cast spells/incantations on torrent. now ANYTHING that effects allies effects torrent, that incudes healing and Regen spells a note about Regen and torrent. your horse invisibly recovers 2HP by default but casting a regeneration effect on your horse I believe stacks with Torrents natural regeneration and unlike all the other buff examples listed bellow persists even while torrent isn't being used.
So Hidden body actually works while riding torrent and effects the horse helping you with stealth. You can also use the cotton bud items to reduce sound and fall damage also effects torrent. The uplifting aromatic also effects you and torrent.
Hare's a few mimic tear tips mimic tear has infinite uses of any consumables you have equipped with exception of flasks of corse, taking advantage of this you can once agin give them Uplifting Aromatics (Said Aromatics negate the damage from grabs, Screw you Hoard Luax. This won't work with Astel as his grab has 2 hits to it.)
you can also give the mimic tear infinite healing stones or if you happen to be THE LORD OF CHAOS frenzy stones will heal you but I don't know if madness works on the mimic or not?
You can also give the mimic a blood pot that will make it enrage and go berserk of its own volition when it hits a target with this. (This trick is best used in 1V1 fights so the mimic will always target the same person.)
An incantation that's amazing on the mimic is the Black Flames protection that boosts your defences massively but weakens flask healing something the mimic can't do.
also against the royal revenants I'd try the finger maiden puppet summon who's AI is programmed to spam healing spells meaning you don't need to find the opening to cast those healing incantations yourself to obligate the revenants.
Reddarn's swords has a 30% boost to damage VS creatures from the stars like Astel or star fall beasts gravity magic also has a damage boost against these enemy types of varying percentages depending on the spell. these multipliers also work on Mohg as he's passed by an outer god. I wonder if EB is effected by this multiplier?
If you use fire damage (Specifically, I used the Eleonora’s Poleblade) against the fingercreepers, they will roll around on the ground. It doesn’t last for very long but is lets you get one or two hits in and it can be chained to keep them from attacking you. I find these enemies to be really annoying so I thought I would put this here in case it could help anyone else who finds the annoying
It also keeps doing fire damage during the whole animation
Did you know that when the lady of volcano manor leaves her Manor you can find her again at rykards body eating him to gain his power. Something I found really interesting and none of my mates knew about so I thought I'd drop a comment and see if anyone else knew about it

The Ruler Mask changes expression if you get the " blood eyes" effect.
Good luck using fire against the madness flowers. Rather than being stunned, they’ll go into rampage mode. I learned this the hard way: don’t always burn your flowers.
Their slam attack is telegraphed and easy to dodge by simply rolling away. Flame of Redmane is IMO the best choice, 2-3 hits (depends on what kind of flowers and their hp/defense) stuns for a crit
Only just recently found out that you do not have to go to a merchant or smith to sell your golden runes, if you go to inventory and then down to the golden runes and hit x (or whatever your x box or pc equivalent is) it brings up a dialog with an option to use, or use selected amount if you have multiple of the same number. Super handy if you’re close to the runes needed to level while at a grace and don’t want to fast travel to kale, iji, or hewg. Thanks to FightinCowboy for enlightening me to that one!
Its annoying trying to remember how much they are worth though. I really only use them in roundtable anyway for levelling weapons and buying stones. I wish the husks had a sell option though

That's wild to hear because I honestly didn't know that you a COULD sell them to merchants for a while. Back in ds1 consumables with the same function sold for less than they were worth if you used them from your inventory. So it's just old habit for me using them like that instead of selling them
Yeah it can be more clicks sometimes so I’ll just go to roundtable. I know from memory how much some of them are worth so if I’m a few hundred or few thousand off levelling it just saves a little time if I’ve been saving up all my runes a while.
@@ButtersGettingHard Patch just fixed this last week. Use the button for additional info (ps5 is square) while in the rune of your choice. It tells exactly the value.
Also, to consume multiple runes of different values, click R3 twice, you'll see your character instead of info screen on right side, then you can consume as many times as you'd like, click R3 again to see your stats/rune total
The twiggy cracked tear can be used with the talisman equipped and as long as the tear is active it will be used instead of the talisman

You can get sacrificial twigs from the wormface creatures at Altus Plateau. Had one drop the twig as I was clearing a spot in the forest. Problem is that those things are a hell of a bother to kill and the place is literally neck deep with those monsters...
The ones in Farum Azula drop them as well at a slightly higher rate
I recommend rot breath because it can be scaled 3 different ways and does physical damage plus rots them d
I recommend the Blasphemous Blade for them. I was able to two or three hit all of them from a safe distance with the Taker's Flames special ability of it. Cleared out the entire forest, not even getting hit once.
FYI the deathbed dress thing used to also affect NPCs nearby when using a flail (not THE flail, any flail. I noticed it with the Family Heads flail like 2 months ago) - I noticed because I made Varre angry at me. Literally the only time I've ever had to use Celestial Dew was because this dress made me hit Varre from a dozen yards away while fighting something with my flail.
Using the fire to dispel that poison cloud is freaking awesome! Thanks!

You can actually sort the weapons in your equipment by attack power to see wich are your strongest weapons (it will still be active when enhancing a weapon at a blacksmith)
Though not directly mentioned in the video, though I'm sure he meant to imply it, is that the Twiggy Cracked Tear has that same functionality as the Sacrificial Twig talisman in that if you die with runes on the ground, they don't disappear. I found that out as I started to run that tear in my physic, but often found I'd forget to run and get the runes during a boss fight and die again. Deciding they had been written off, but not bothering to change the tear out, I kept running the boss and then when I eventually beat it after dying several more times, I would find my runes still in the boss arena.
So always a good tear to have in your physic for boss fights you've not run yet and don't know what to expect. As long as you remember to drink it, you'll never lose runes in a boss fight again. To my knowledge there's no duration to the protection this offers as well. I've done some drawn-out fights and still retained my runes. And of course, it doesn't require you to sacrifice a talisman.
The Radahn cliff thing also works with the twin gargoyles fight as well. Hard to pull off there too, but had both of them gal off the cliff back to back by luck during one of my playthrough.

You could go into a boss room, grab your runes, then quit and be out of the boss room and get your runes! This would have been so helpful to know when I was still in my first play through lol
That fact that you used to explain the use of sacrificial twig can also be used with your twiggy tear. For example. You've just died and you know you're within a 3 min run to your runes from where you've respawned. You can drink your wonderous physique so that incase you die before reaching your runes you'll get a second chance to get your runes. Essentially it works like this. You can only have you rune drop existing on the floor at a given time. As long as you don't drop any new runes then you're existing drop won't be erased. (even when you die with zero runes the drop will occur with a zero rune counter)

I made a really strong shield build (2700 AR on the shield), and through extensive testing I found an improper interaction that makes its damage absolutely insane. Fully buffed I did 12k damage in one press of left trigger to the (build testing) troll in stormveil castle on NG+3

Certain enemies will drop sacrificial twigs. I think the worm face death mutants do. I thought there was another one but I could be wrong.
Have you covered how Fire's Deadly Sin emits an aura of blood flame if you use that incantation concurrently? It's so broken. I recommend it with the spiked fists or with the spiked great hammer.
@@StiffyLongJohn I guess they thought fixing the death bed companion dress exploit would fix that or they don't know it exists. I have not once seen a TH-camr cover it, not once. I try to comment about it on a lot of videos but everyone just ignores my comment.
I personally hope its not a glitch. I think it's really fun. It makes sense since one flame spell can spread to another flame spell in terms of the lore of the magic. Adds complexity to spellcraft. I don't think it's broken in terms of damage output. Each blood loss proc is comparable to any other mid tier spell in terms of damage.
@@rcwlson1 but in pvp doesn't people take blood build up just from being in range of you? And blood is the most powerful status, any sort of melee build is completely shut down at that point, which probably just causes people to spam thongs like bloodhounds step and stars of ruin or some other nonsense
Decided to try Mogh on my lower level build, 80 with bleed spec. Didn't know it was possible to entirely skip fase 2, but it's ridiculously easy on a build such as that.
There's a glitch with the deathbed Dress and Seppuku where as long as seppuku is active it will continually damage yourself however it only applies to the right hand weapon

Have to check again. But while wearing the death bed dress I was NEVER able to sneak up on enemies.
I sometimes sneak around to get backstab for more runes in N.Caelid farm and while wearing the dress, the Vulgar militia always know I am behind them.
DID YOU KNOW You can actually just use the twiggy cracked tear instead of the sacrificial twig talisman when you're trying to recover your lost runes. If you die you will get a 2nd chance to recover them just like the talisman. They're basically the exact same effect.

If you use seppaku with the deathbed dress you and ur allies constantly take small damage and flitch the whole time
I would really like it from software would add the option to equip complete armor sets or at least what you have collected towards them in one click. It gets frustrating trying to find matching pieces individually.
Dispelling the cloud with fire damage works on all flower variants and with ANY source of fire damage: ranged, melee, and magic!
Idk one guy commented that the flowers with madness go crazy if you use fire on them haven’t tried myself yet though
@@benjaminpetty6956 They do! They flail around violently but it still dispells the cloud. Ranged fire works best on them, but even the little flowers are weak to it. Fire pots, y'know?

I use the cracked tear and the 50%hp recovery upon a lethal blow mix, since I got them. that's how I go into every boss, every so/so jump, etc. I have very low lost rune % in 700 hours. I'd say under 100k!

You can kill the stone ball in Nokron to get a larval tear on the ground floor of the building with the black whetstone knife is found next to an altar, near the mimic tear ashes
not sure if it's already shown but during the fight with Radahn you can summon upto 5 NPC to fight him, did you know that each time one is killed another yellow sign will pop up allowing you to continue to summon, you can literally defeat Radhan without fighting yourself and let the NPC finish him off but you still need to watch out for his attacks cause sometimes you will get hit by his AOE attacks
You can also die in boss rooms and slowly work your way to the door and have them spawn on the outside of boss area. (Used to use this during DS3)
Thats the only way how I ever use Sacrificial Twigs (or Ring of Sacrifice in Dark Souls).
I dont see this much and i cant really confirm if this work still, but you can move before the smoke consumes you in a teleporter trap. I have accidentally done it and i have someone do it on a reddit post and i am not sure if it still works, would be cool if it still works
I've done the same thing. It's a very short window, so typically you'd have to be expecting the trap already (via nearby messages or past experience) to be able to do it, but a roll or backstep should take you out of the mist. The chest will then close again.
It does still work. I accidentally did it yesterday in that dungeon with all the traps.
Yes if you dodge quickly you can evade the trap. I'm pretty sure that is fully intended and won't get patched.
you can also cause the large flowers to catch fire if you cause blood loss build up with the rivers of blood causing them to stagger.
You can use two of these tricks together.. if you're in catacombs, equip the twig Talisman. Then use grace mimic to teleport to the entrance. Walk out and use mohgs amulet. Yw.
What about the grace item you get at the start of the game to go to the last grace at the cost of your runes
Did you know some small plants blow up from torches? I used the beast repellant torch to blow up the small scarlet rot (or madness.... I forget) flowers.
I feel like the fact that you can't transport to sites of grace from any of the catacombs might have something to do with the roots that you find in those catacombs like those are the roots of the great tree down there and so you are cut off from grace when underground in those catacombs. everything that the golden order has found cursed or not aligning with the erdtree is placed underground. Idk this just poped in my head as you reminded me that you can't teleport to sites of grace from the catacombs.
You can’t teleport out of catacombs if there is still a boss left in them, once the boss is dead you are free to teleport to any site of grace you choose.

the talisman works the same. as long as you drink you can get multiple tries to retrieve lost runes.
Something I discovered this evening is that if you shoot a lightning bolt into the water it will electrocute all the enemies nearby in the water. I discovered this while attacking a Giant Land Octopus.

Thankfully the ring of sacrifice does the same thing in Dark souls games just like the sacrificial twig, so if anyone was stuck in those games too can use that same trick if the games provide it (mostly Dark Souls from what I know)

Use blood hounds claw skill to pass through status affecting fields easy and fast with little build up
To avoid that collision with Rodan you can use a shield, bloodhound step... A regular Dodge and hop on torrent.
I wonder if you use the twiggy cracked tear or a sacrificial twig and the item that takes you back to the last site of grace at the cost of your runes, would you still lose your runes
Makes sense that the Pureblood Knight's Medal has no reception in catacombs, but you should still be able to reach emergency numbers, though.

Also upon dying in a boss fight if you alt+f4 you die outside the boss area and can get your runes
Seppuku would also cause you to deal damage to yourself and your allies and it would make everybody act as if they were actually getting hit by something they’re character would be flinching the whole time.
Wait... so with the Boss that gets stronger with bleed does that not just apply a standard 20% and then stop like the talisman or is it a permanent buff that stays on and can be restacked until he is doing 1 shot potential damage per hit because so many bloodloss have occurred?? 🤔
Idk if anyone else has discovered this but spells actually give u some I-frames, I'll cast black flames protection during pvp n you get I-frames towards the end of the cast

The glintstone mask swapping to restore HP has not been patched as of 1.05
So either it's not a bug, or FromSoft doesn't think it's a problem.
Even though Mohg still has that bleed buff, I still demolished him with my bleed build character. With a proper bleed build, the buffing usually lasts longer than the actual fight.
The same concept of sacrificial rings' from previous Dark souls work the same as the twigs. Also you can farm them from an enemy.
Something curious about the twig talismans is that they dont seem to work if you get killed by death blight and you died before... you will still lose your runes, which is weird.
Use bubble tear for that Radhan trick
Maybe hitting yourself with a flail while wearing the deathbed dress is a way to cause blood loss in the vicinity. The nightrider flail has bleed buildup. Just a thought.
