1:44 "Blair's noose could easily go unnoticed in the back of the frame" *noose is front and center in the middle of the frame and more visible and conspicuous than the character himself* come on guys. come on.
Question is really was it a ploy. I always figured Blair was aware he was infected already, so when they put him in the shed the Thing strung it up thinking they'd intervene if he were to hang himself.
Holy cow, I've watched Thirteen Ghosts so many times and I never caught the image of Cyrus's face in the glass during that scene! I've even looked closely and tried to spot any accidental reflections in the glass before too. That was a great catch!
Missed out: Alien; the alien can be seen asleep among the pipes while Ripley is getting changed explaining how easily missed it was as the audience missed it as well. The descent: creatures can be seen in the caves in the background, blink and you'll miss it. Saw: Jigsaw's designs for the reverse bear trap can be seen next to his hospital bed.
I remember I think it was the haunting of hill house that had a bunch of creepy things in the background? I was watching it with a group of friends and whenever someone noticed something it sent chills up our spines, an absolutely genius form of horror.
thank you jack and sean, for saying signs is a good movie! I get that it's not an amazing movie or anything, but it does well with the scares and psychological thriller moments. and for as bizarre as the dialogue can be, I feel like it's better justified as paranoia than in the happening. also, I've heard a few theories on the water thing, that help make better sense (the aliens were disposable ground troops enslaved by a more powerful race, the aliens were benevolent and actually trying to help humanity, the aliens were actually demons and the water worked because it was blessed, etc.).
That was awesome! You ended that last with a big laugh and thank you. Especially for the Devil's Pass scene. I've noticed it cuz I love that movie, own it and have watched or many times cuz I loved the original mystery and when I first watched it I loved that it was college students from the University of Oregon. My local city that I was born next to. I love Oregon and the fact that Renny Harlin, a man from half way across the world from me originally decided to make them U of O students made me happy. And he is a rad director.
For me, one of the best background scenes is from Pumpkinhead. The girl is in the kitchen and as she walks away, Pumpkinhead walks across with her and you realize it was standing outside the entire time.
Best list you have made in years, including movies hardly here or even here once(Mindhunters, The Devil's Pass included). See you can do it when you think about it. Now to tomorrow, when Scream is here for the Billionth time.
The details in thing will always be the best, it's one of the deepest stories. When windows drops the keys you gotta really be paying attention. You see him walk in with them in hand, bhe gets scared and runs away but right before you head the sound of keys hit the floor. Pure uncut Genius.
Signs has such a great build up. It's two major flaws is Shyamalan inserting himself into the film to give critical information, and the fact that the daughter has conveniently been leaving glasses of water everywhere around the house since she's first seen.
or that an advanced race capable of travelling across the stars and capable of producing a sleeping gas suited for humans from their own bodies chooses to invade a place covered in the one thing they are heavily allergic to, not to mention it composes the majority of the body of any life form on the planet... Signs is the first really bad movie from Shyamalan, where any narrative coherence is sacrificed for the sake of an "incredible" plot twist, obtaining only the effect of ruining a good story about lost faith in favor of the lamest alien invasion ever. Not to mention that somehow the alien invasion restores the faith in Mel Gibson character...
Well the glasses of water everywhere thing is explained as her probably being psychic. I haven't seen that movie in a while but I do remember there are quite a few references to the daughter knowing things that she reasonably couldn't know.
Does the signs one really even count It's part of the storyline It's not hidden in the background to be unseen It's a plot point? A better one would have been to point out the alien standing on top of the barn that you can see outside of the window shortly after the little girl wakes the dad up and says "there's a monster in/out side my room, Can I have a glass of water?" You can see it out there for one second and then when they pan the cam back it's gone
Signs f*cked me up when i was younger and saw it in the movie theater. I lived next to some woods and that night i walked around my house with a pen as a weapon XD I was a teenager so.. yeah XD
Do 10 more and this time add the scen from Underwater when they go to put on the dive suits. In that room there is a mural painted on the walls, in said picture it's a tentacle monster pull angels in the water.. since it's cthulu movie in the end. This can be seen when the Asian girl locks in on the walls
Am I correct that Devil's Pass is sometimes known as just "The Dyatlov Pass Incident" or have I manufactured a memory again? Because I've certainly watched it but I dont remember it going by the name Devil's Pass
Devil´s Pass has another glimpse of one of those creatures when they are trapped at the tunnel and decide to explore it. Check it out at the tunnel on left side of the screen.
I saw the face in what lies beneath first time I watch this. I was watching this with my parents at the time and they totally missed it but we were watching it on dvd and we were able to pause it and see the face
I would not call signs a "great movie" - it had some great visuals but bad pacing, poor dialogue, and a ridiculous storyline that views have had to create alternate stories of just to make sense of it. If you have to create a whole theory behind the plot in the movie that is not evident. It's just not a good movie. But, the jump scare and iconic video sequence are fantastic.
Yes. I expect cupboards to open, doors to swing, and chairs to move. I’m sad when I find out there is no ghost and it’s just another whacko-in-the-walls. 😂
That map thing is some bullshit.. it's Just like the scene in one of the saw movies that was supposed to ellude to the 1st movie but it's wrong! there are too many people in the room (in the original it's two guys chained to things on opposite sides of a bathroom and a "dead body" in the middle. One of them cuts off their leg and I believe does escape but the new scene elludes to that person being put back in the room after the movie ended BUT even if that were the case, there would still only be *2* dead bodies NOT *3* since jigsaw himself is the 1 laying in the bathroom. The movie ends with him getting up and leaving. So how come there's 1 very decomposed body chained to the toilet (or tub?) & 1 against the wall with the foot nearby but unattached & a decomposing body & the middle of the room? If you are going to try to make subtle nods to other movies ya still have to put in a little effort You can't just claim something is a subtle mod after somebody points out it could possibly be 1. That's just rolling with a conspiracy theory started about your creation.
10. thirteen ghosts 09. the thing 08. ju on: the grudge 07. inside 06. what lies beneath 05. mindhunters 04. blair witch (2016) (if they say so..) 03. devil’s pass 02. signs 01. scary movie 2 (wtf)
i love the noose in the thing, idk why but the first time i saw it made me laugh for some reason, they talked to blair after that one guy goes missing and they cut to blair to see a fucking noose just hanging there, not sure why it made me laugh
I hear people use the word mortifying all the time and never once have they used it correctly. I think at this point it's one of those language things where the meaning of the word has changed to how people actually use it.
Signs is bad. So bad. It feels like two mediocre movies crammed togheter somehow to give us a worse experience of both. Oh, who I'm kidding, the aliens part of Signs is total garbage, we are in Ed Wood territory here
#9 was some kind of joke, right? You were just trolling the viewers, right? Because there's absolutely ZERO chance that anyone possessing one good eye could have missed the noose sitting right there in plain sight.

1:44 "Blair's noose could easily go unnoticed in the back of the frame"
*noose is front and center in the middle of the frame and more visible and conspicuous than the character himself*
come on guys. come on.
I actually noticed Blair's noose but then again I watch John Carpenter's The Thing pretty much every other day, it's one of my favorite horror movies
Its actually not that hard. Its right there
One of the best films full stop
no joke! I’m showing my 14 year old boy this masterpiece this weekend! I love October!
Question is really was it a ploy. I always figured Blair was aware he was infected already, so when they put him in the shed the Thing strung it up thinking they'd intervene if he were to hang himself.
Try watching it in Black and white, idk why but it ands another level of tension

I love when movies do this. As I got older I started noticing all the things you guys mention
The noose is in *front* of Blaire. It's literally in the FOREground 😂 pretty hard to miss that one.
This could be a whole series with just Hereditary alone
Kill List as well.
I remember that scene from Signs took my breath away in the theater and I wasn't the only one. Thanks for showing it! 😊

I've seen "What Lies Beneath" once on TV. My mom let me watch it, and the most traumatizing part was seeing Indiana Jones try to kill Selina Kyle 😢
Lol
For me, one of the best background scenes is from Pumpkinhead. The girl is in the kitchen and as she walks away, Pumpkinhead walks across with her and you realize it was standing outside the entire time.
This was great. I already want a part II.
I've never actually watched Ju-on, but it strikes me as the kind of movie that could probably populate a list like this all by itself.
Great video. The Thing segment was the only one I knew before this.
One of my favorite things to do now is to watch extras and catching these is fun as I start paying more attention to the background!
The creepy crawlies in the background of The Devil's Pass are also the two final surviving characters transformed. Timey wimey shenanigans.
I was thinking the same thing it’d been a long time since I’ve seen the movie

2:23 that's more oddly adorable than creepy, for some reason ❤
Well, aside from the fact that seeing Toshio means the old man, like Rika, is doomed to an unpleasant end.
@@KaminoNeko I thought it was kinda sweet, the old man playing peek-a-boo with poor Toshio

How do people miss the noose? 🤨🤔🧐
How does anyone miss Blair's noose while he's saying "I'm all better now." I mean...come on.
This video swings wildly between things so obvious they’re borderline plot devices and things no human could ever possibly notice.
In What Lies Beneath, Madisons face was all throughout that movie.

This is my favorite thing in horror movies.
No Xenomorph hiding in the piping and tubes in Alien? Or was that in the first list?
Devil`s pass took an excellent story and made it some weird non-horror, non-suspense disaster
The list was definitely “terrifrying”

Looking at the scene from SIGNS again, you see the alien is missing fingers on that hand. It's the one that Gibson faced earlier.
