That's a trans joke that acknowledges the current situation, and has the phobes at the butt of the joke. So yeah. Long comment, but I love comedians who subvert stuff like that.

He's very aware of the nuances behind parasocial relationships, which he himself has an strongly ambivalent opinion on; his songs "Can't Handle This" and "art is dead" are the ones, at the top of my head, that delve into that subject. ETA: also "Repeat Stuff" I completely forgot the most aggressive song about this lmao!
Since watching Promising Young Woman, I've been mainlining Bo's old specials and content. Partly because I love his work, and partly because I need to refresh my mental image of him. Can't WAIT for the new special. Thank you for that amazing laugh at 6:32.

He’s humanitarian to the max and doing the best that he can with his white male privilege. Highlighting the ways we need to zoom in to zoom out and zoom out to zoom in. And how no part can be skipped in order to truly empathise and truly be compassionate. Everyone is trying to work through something from their own unique and valuable position in the world and we all only have one life during which to do it, lest we rely upon fundamentalist narratives that inhibit our ability to display and enact our humanity. I love the way how in Inside with “White Woman’s Instagram” he dissects and reflects the surface and shrinks the frame to demonstrate this like show and tell, and the expands the frame in the middle break to expand the whole story of the individual and all that is being lost in ideological thinking and encouraging that complex voice forth whilst also living and displaying his own complexities in other songs. He’s humanitarian to the max and doing the best that he can with his white male privilege. Highlighting the ways we need to zoom in to zoom out and zoom out to zoom in. And how no part can be skipped in order to truly empathise and truly be compassionate. Everyone is trying to work through something from their own unique and valuable position in the world and we all only have one life during which to do it, lest we rely upon fundamentalist narratives that inhibit our ability to display and enact our humanity. Brilliant.
