Back in the day of the dinosaur and white buffalo in the late 70's in Alaska I got a Buck 112. It did every thing from cutting duct tape to boxes to field dressing and quartering caribou, moose, breasting out ducks and ptarmigan, fileting salmon, and all manner of camp chores from making kindling to cutting up food for the fire. In 2006 I moved from Alaska and lost that knife somehow. After that I had a Grohmann #2 and my pop's Case mini Bowie that filled that niche. Last year I saw a Buck 110 at Wally World and bought it. Great knife. Its my #2 favorite knife I own. Because. I had to go and get another Buck 112 which is, has been, and will always be my favorite knife to carry and use. A few years ago I got a Buck 55 which is the same knife as the 110 and 112 only smaller. I had a plantar wart on my left foot instep that was driving me crazy with pain and could not get rid of using the normal topical salves and ointments. I used the Buck 55 which came out of the box shaving sharp and carved that wart right out over the course of 3 days. The pain in my foot went adios and I was all cool and the gang back to normal. I reckon I like to be liking Buck knives a little bit.
Also a fan more of the 112 because it's shorter blade is legal in more places than the 110....& for EDC use the 112 Slim is much more lightweight & easier to carry..
I have always liked Buck Knives, 110/112, and agree it's the blade and full-feeling handle design that has made it such a success. I am glad Buck has the updates to provide a) better and/or synthetic/modern steels and covers/scales, b) screwed construction, and c) weight reduction.
The Buck knife is King. I've been carrying a 110 or 112 since 1973 when I joined the Navy. Everyone on board the ship carried a Buck or a Case folding Hunter. Great video.
This video got me started into getting buck knives. I just got my 110 pro and I really love it! Also have the original 110, there's just something about the classic that everyone loves.
👍 What is not to like about a video dedicated to the Buck 112 series of knives. I’m a fan of the original but do like the newer clip point profile. I also applaud Buck for updating these classics with “modern” materials so that many folks can come to appreciate this design, good business management in my view. Having said that I am not a fan of pocket clips on folding knives because I don’t like the way the clip feels in my hand when the knife is in use and would immediately remove the clip. A personal preference and I realize I am in a tiny minority.
Great idea comparing all these versions! While the newer versions all have their pros, seeing them side-to-side really highlights the fact that the original wood and brass 110 just looks so much better than the rest!
Good comparison video of the Buck110 line, cheapest 110 these days is the 110 Slim select model Iisted on the Buck Knife website for $40 plus, liked and subscribed
You don't need to buy a new 110 when the blade gets worn. Send it to Buck and they will put a new blade on it for $10. It's all part of their limited warranty. They usually even polish it up too.
Or stead of buying another one when the blade dulls, send it back to back to Buck and spend somewhere in the neighborhood of $10-$15 for either a sharpening, or a brand new blade. I think for around $15 you can get a new blade and they will clean the whole knife and send it back.
I own the Buck 110 the lochsa, they made 500 of those when the model turned 50. It's more of a cross between the old model and the new one. It has g10 scales, a s30v blade, nickel silver bolsters, (only the top ones) and a nice pocket clip, but it is pinned construction. It is my most carry ed knife by far and probably the slicey est knife i own. but i do want one of those slim pro TRX es, probably the orange one.(By the way subbed the channel).
Am i the only one that likes the anvil clip!? I don’t think they come in black tho, pocket clips or blades. I think a black high polish like Rockstead would really set off the 110.
I think maybe you mixed the slim select with the slim pro trx. That TRX is like $90 most places. I agree the slim select for $28 or whatever is a tremendous deal anyway, but it’s a real step down from the TRX feature-wise. The new Bucks seem really under-rated to me generally, but their marketing is confusing: slim select, slim select pro, slim select pro trx, sport, etc
I just rewatched it. I don’t think I mixed them up but I did just call the Slim Select the Slim. Either way, you’re 100% right on the value and the marketing. I’m really loving these! Thanks for watching!
Happy Sunday & greetings T E EDC, I am wondering why you failed to mention the most significant difference between the slim select versions & the other versions? Did you not spot it? On the Slim Select versions you have a modified clip point blade rather than the original full clip point blade. I own a classic 110 Folding Hunter, a classic 112 Ranger & the 112 Ranger Slim Select & I have on order the 110 Folding Hunter LT. I chose the 110 LT over the 110 SS because of the blade shape, IMO the original full clip blade shape which the 110 LT has is preferable to the modified clip point blade shape . I have fitted a Kwik type of thumb stud to my 110, 112 & will do so also on the 110 LT when it arrives.
I have great interest in 110 slim pro, but, isn't it way to fragile compared to original? I'm not using or planing to use knives for hatchet job but still, Im fond for robust knives
I just recently picked up a 110 slim pro trx. The blade seems nice, and the finish seems good, but it is the stiffest knife I've ever had the displeasure of trying to operate. Is this normal? Maybe I just have soft hands, brother, but I can't open it safely one handed, and it's a struggle to unlock and close it. It's almost unusable. Will it eventually break in, or should I send it back in to Buck?
would it be possible to swap the blades from the TRX and Sport? I'm getting a sport but I like the slightly less "clipped" blade on the trx. nitpicking here haha
Seem to be very knowledgeable about those buck knives and it is interesting but I could not make it through the video you spent about 2 minutes getting about 30 seconds worth of information across
TO ANSWER THE QUESTION WHICH BUCK 110 IS THE BEST THE ANSWER IS THE BUCK 110 AUTO ELITE!!!DUH LOL BUT IS OBVIOUSLY TRUE THOUGH BUT I THINK IT WOULD BE COOL IF THEY MADE AUTO VERSIONS OF ALL OF THE BUCK 110 AND BUCK 112 VERSIONS AND ALSO AUTO ELITE VERSIONS OF THEM ALL ASWELL THINK ABOUT IT WOULD BE PRETTY BAD ASS WOULDNT IT???
I recommend knife retailers like DLT for all knife purchases but for those who are going to buy on Amazon anyway and for knives not available at smaller retailers, I post a link to Amazon. At least then the channel gets a little bit and a little less ends up in Bezos’ pockets.
Definitely a fan of that micarta version with S30V. 👍 My best buddy just gave me a 50th anniversary Buck 112 Ranger with the finger groves. Love it!

@@jefflockaby702 just get a buck 110auto are a buck 112 auto
Get a buck 110 auto or a buck 112 auto you'd really really love them

Hunter Sport. That was a dream come true. Fully modern yet still the original.
This video got me started into getting buck knives. I just got my 110 pro and I really love it! Also have the original 110, there's just something about the classic that everyone loves.
It's one of the greatest folders of all time. Tried and true. I had one for 10, almost 15 years. And it was great.
The 110, a classic and one of the few Bucks you can always count on.
For those who have used a 110 there is an appreciation for its capabilities. There aren't many tasks that I'd choose another folder for over a 110.
I think they've been able to maintain some of their classic knife while adding modern features that people like.

I also like the Micarta one!
Buck 110 my favorite Buck knife! Thank you for sharing.
Agreed! I have added a few more since this video.
Thanks for sharing. By the way, you can send your 110 in to Buck and they will replace the blade for $10.00.
That’s good info! Thank you!
If you break the tip off they put a new blade in for free.
Good comparison video of the Buck110 line, cheapest 110 these days is the 110 Slim select model Iisted on the Buck Knife website for $40 plus, liked and subscribed
New ones are cool, but I love my 83 folder Buck 110

You're right.
Buck messed up when they changed the blade for the slim versions. They should have kept the same clip-point blade for all versions.
I mostly agree with this. I do like both blade shapes, but there’s something about the clip-point that I’ve always loved.

I’m waiting for the hunter sport to come in the mail today
Benefit of the limited edition thumb studs is removal for easier sharpening.
I use the Edge Pro for sharpening and i have drilled two holes in the the part you lay the blade on. they are no problem that way.
Multi knife reviews are so rare
So true!
You are missing one, and hard to find, the 560 titanium. The first two are really nice though.
I would love to get my hands on one of those.
They do sell Sv30 steel versions of their classics. I think I might go with that.
The 110 in s30V is a great choice!
They are all the best
Am i the only one that likes the anvil clip!? I don’t think they come in black tho, pocket clips or blades. I think a black high polish like Rockstead would really set off the 110.

Original and Hunter Sport
I have the classic 110 and would like to try the aluminum micarta version and the 112 in the same way. Great video 👍
Were standard 110s really $40 a year ago? I can’t find one under $60.
They were $50ish I think. They went on sale a lot down to $40
I have great interest in 110 slim pro, but, isn't it way to fragile compared to original?
I'm not using or planing to use knives for hatchet job but still, Im fond for robust knives
I want that one with the CF and S45VN. Do you know anywhere I might find one?
You mean the slipjoint? I might be willing to let mine go. Email me at triple.e.edc@gmail.com.
Wy dont you add the buck 110 auto and buck 110auto elite??
I just haven’t picked one up yet but they’re on my list!
I will have all bet that Limited edition one
Great video.
Thanks!
I have the one in the middle!
Any buck 110 is bast it’s just what you are willing to spend
Queria muito um desses mas aqui no Brasil não tem.

$63 bucks as of 3/3/23

I mean, it is an unboxing but criticism noted. I’ve been trying to make shorter videos recently anyway.
110 for 40 bucks , where? 70 all day long.

prices there are not cheap!
Good for Bos. He perfected the worst knife steel available. Buck really knows how to set the bar low.
Thanks 😊
