I miss taking the train in Europe. When I was in the Army, I spent some time in Germany & we had to use the train to take our vehicles with us. Loved it. We had to load our military vehicles & secure them ourselves.
Love train rides and overnighters are even better and all part of the adventure! Drank the entire bottle of Schnapps and not even ashamed of it ... he he he!!!
Organ, thanks for sharing the train to us. I love the fog, too. Where I come from, San Francisco it was always really fogging and drizzling. Not anymore. So it’s nice to see the fog.

Well, this is fascinating! I love that you could bring a vehicle. Train travel is awesome. Even if it's a little unusual. I'm incredibly relieved the bathroom was Morgan Approved (tm). 😁👍🚽
I can't wait for the videos from Vienna, love it there! And I also need to go back to Hamburg! Haven't been there since we picked up my sister there after she was a au-pair there. It was more then 30 years ago. Now she met a austrian man and we have been in austria several times 😊
So excited for this series! Since I'm not familiar with train travel (especially night trains!), this may be a non-issue, but did you worry about sleeping past your stop? Are there announcements that would wake you up? Do you simply rely on your alarm (although you were late getting in anyway)? So many questions!
I can't even imagine living where the are train company options. We have the GO, to get into Toronto; and VIA, which is coast to coast but primarily Ontario to Quebec. Both are government owned. There is the Rocky Mountaineer out west, but it's an expensive tourist train. Public transportation options here suck.
@@edmundcarew7235 it has a couple routes out west, but say I want to go from Toronto to North Bay, or Toronto to Peterborough, or PEI, there's no route. The aim of VIA is to move people along a very narrow corridor of the country. Very narrow.
No side effects…that’s fantastic! I had very few with Pfizer…except for a delayed allergy. So yay delayed =minor in the scheme of such things but boo I’m allergic and the reaction is long lived.

Completely normal in much of the world in either European couchettes, or sleeping cars there and elsewhere. In couchettes one doesn'r typically change to pyjamas, but stays in one's street clothes. Far better than having to sit up overnight on a road coach or indeed long distance aircraft. When one travels on an aircraft you're 'sleeping' with numerous others, irrespective as to whether you are in business or economy class.

I wouldn't be happy if I were the father of a child and a stranger ( especially male) were to sleep in such close proximity to my daughter. Did you feel uncomfortable?

I took an overnight train from Venice to Paris and opted to have a solo carriage. I had my own sink inside my compartment.
You travelled in a sleeping car. The video shows a couchette.
You mean 'I had a single cabin with a sole sleeping berth in it, sometimes called in other nations like Australia a roomette.

I've used the ÖBB Nightjet two times (and in solo compartments). It was way too noisy and too shaky. Never again.

Via Rail has many routes, not just those to which you refer. As an Australian, I've been on most.

I think when you do not think about it, then it is fine. I did the same and was not really thinking about it and it was fine.
