Hello sir Recently i am facing some engine sound issues in my classic 350 bs3. Firstly I enquired at RE authorised service centre about the issue they said after inspecting sound of bike that 90% its a issue of crank sound and after opening the engine they will confirm. And i have shown the same to a local mechanic and he also confirmed and told that service centre will replace the crank with new in addition fuel pump, hydraulics, cluch plates and some of other parts also leading to a expenditure of around 35-40 thousand or more. So i am thinking if these parts are to be replaced with new one already so is there any possibility that i can get my 350 cc converted to a 500 cc is it possible???
Hi Mantavya, i am thinking of doing this upgrade of my 500cc.It also had developed connecting rod noise. Reboring it to 535 and adding 535cc piston. How successful it is in long term? Did you face any issue after conversion? Do you recommend to do it or should i use 500cc bore piston kit from RE.

You can bt you will have to change a lot of stuffs and that's gonna cost you a bomb....starting from head bore, carb pump, magnet, wiring etc....equivalent of getting a new engine

I've heard getting the piston bore is not successful in the classic 500 I too have same model as yours and mine was consuming engine oil so I had to change the piston as well as I got the crank fixed. A note for all C500 owners :- Always use the engine oil of the prescribed grade by RE and never use fully synthetic oil in your bike. I'd like to know Brother because I recently saw your ladakh ride as well. So did the bike give any issues? Curious to know. P.S. Following you for quite a long time now and I got to see your face in the ladakh trip 😂
Boring is not successful in UCE engines. I've had one myself. But eventually on long rides it'll start eating oil & you'll have to replace the whole cylinder kit.
the pin which u were speaking about is called gudgeon pin. frankly speaking i drive RE but i m not satisfied with quality standards which we get in india and bs4 engine is little messed up .......but i must say the new interceptor engines are good.
@@Mantavya I am also using same oil and it's very good for city commuting and it is equivalent to motul 5100 but castrol comes with 2.5 litre pack instead of buying 3 pack of motul so castrol is convenient in using as well and i have been using this oil in my classic 350 and its life is 4500 to 5000 km easy

@@Mantavya the plan was to replace the entire cylinder and head unit but not sure how successful the mod will be, I have been advised by mechanic to straight away buy a new 500 cc engine and replace it with the old one.

@@imochasingh6875 The rational way to think would be to say that boring out a cylinder is always an after market job, and like all after market jobs there is a risk of a screw up, and you have no guarantee that it will go right or wrong. Sure your workman might have done an excellent job but there is still no guarantee, it is and not worth it at the same time. In that regard a new set would be costly but could yield reliable and consistent results. At the end it all comes down to how much of a risk taker you are. If you know an amazing machine shop then I think you should just take the risk, if you don't know anybody then you should just buy a new set.
My 86 Suzuki has done 15k kms over getting zero that's 1.15 lakh kms and still doesn't have crank noise. Says a lot about the bad quality Royal Enfield is today.
But still. I recollect riding my pulsar 150 for about 40k kms. Trashing it whenever I can but didn't even have to open the head to seat the valves. With so much tech developing I think the average customer isn't aware of what he is getting himself into. My old 89 bullet still never made any crank noise. It's not your riding brother, the engine is made of weak parts. But I'm sure you will enjoy this added boost of power. Just remember on long distances or hard riding don't turn off the bike immediately. Instead, let it idle so that you will have enough oil circular throughout the engine to cool it first before turning off. Hope it helps

Changing silencer always fucked up your crank so it's better to keep the orignal silencer which come from company .

Can we install a brand new cylinder and piston set of the 535 on the 500 cc engine platform without using the old 500 cylinder?
I think it would be possible to buy a new cylinder as well as the piston, but it would be more cost effective to just bore out your existing cylinder.

Not possible.. both are entirely differently made engine with reverse shaft in himlayan

never. alloy wheels on royal enfield are only good for city riding imho, as I go offroading a lot, they can bend and all the air might leak out
