The thought that even though David has settled down with a family FINALLY, he still has a tardis and can run around now and then. Having him and Donna show up once in a great while to help out would be hilarious fun as well. The future is filled with one handed cartwheel possibility!
I just started sobbing at "to come home". RTD did it again. He made me sob over Donna abd Tennant _again._ I've never been so happy with crying in my life 😂
I’m so happy and satisfied how this story went. I love the prospect of David being in future episodes. I already like Fifteen and I’m so excited for his run. I loved this episode!
14 now retires and becomes the curator (probably given the job by UNIT) he later assumes a regeneration and becomes Tom Baker again.. Revisiting the old favorite. Or atleast that is my theory
I would think he could only regenerate into Ncuti and that would leave Ncuti as the one Doctor. It's like Ncuti is the future Doctor who has got pulled back in time and eventually will catch up when Tennant does regenerate
I really like the Bigeneration thing. It was random and came out of nowhere, but it gave us a really fun final confrontation. 14 deserves a happy ending. I also love Gatwa as the Doctor. He really owns the role, I really believe him as the Doctor.
In the commentary RTD said that he's had this bigeneration on his mind for years and he says that he imagines that whenever the split happened - plus duplicating the TARDIS - that it had a rippled effect back through his life and so we can have the third doctor going around doing his own thing, for example, or Jodie wakes up and is on that cliff top. Cool concept.
@@LGBTQ71 Wilf has been the true heart of the David Tennant-era seasons as well as the End of Time two parters. Gonna miss him very much. RIP Bernard Cribbins ❤
I mean, during the companions anonymous meeting from Power of the Doctor, Kate did say she would prolly hire any of them. Also, I think David's Doctor will eventually become the Curator
Hearing 9's regeneration music sneaking into the regeneration scene made me miss Eccleston even more than I usually do. Wish he could do more, however unlikely that may be.
i actually really love love the ending. from rtd’s perspective this is the end of the revival era and ncuti launches essentially a separate entity, with that in mind i love that they gave the main character his happy ending. also it did kinda feel like the writers and runners being like okay wow this main character is TOO traumatized we need one version of him to literally settle down and heal and for the other, who it appears can cope better, can have a fresh start
I don't think it's that he can cope better. remember what he said, "we're timelords, we're doing rehab in reverse." ten is going to spend his time on earth recovering from the trauma, but ncuti, bc of time weirdness, is starting out after all that recovery has already happened for him.
@@theductductgoose that doesn’t take into consideration the second tardis, i like the theory and think it’s cool :) i think from my perspective this is a time when it is just what the show says it is and the doctor split :)
One thing I love about Ncuti is he really nails the older version of The Doctor vibe. Sometimes a regeneration feels like a soft reset, e.g: it took 11 and 12 some time to get up off their feet and 10 was put out of action for nearly an entire episode while he was cooking, but Ncuti managed to seem like an actually experienced Doctor.
I didn't expect that he would just remove people's filter as the plot or his musical number, but this one was entertaining. Having the fight being decided by a game of catch was hilarious. Probably the best one of the 3 specials. The Doctor have 2 regenerations and splitting was an interesting choice.
Oh i was fully expecting delirious music number - i did hope they would go more all out on it, though. They could have added some puppets or decorations dancing with him or have this in more crowded location. I needed it to be more grandiose and even more mind-breaking.
Well, it was a forced regeneration as he did die. Thats why the 6th Doctor Who is so chaotic at first. They had a 10 year plan originally with Colin to have the "something went wrong" phase and eventually get to Doctor Who is back to themselves please don't regenerate
The Toymaker was such a fantastic returning villain and absolutely terrifying and ruthless. Neil absolutely stole the show and he should do more villain roles. Also when David didn’t fully regenerate and copied the next Doctor I was like “WHAT! WTF!” I already love Ncuti as The Doctor, he’s gonna be fantastic. This was absolutely the best special and actually felt like a Doctor Who episode, the set up was perfect, the villain was perfect and the ending perfect.
I can't make up my mind about it, to me atleast, it doesn't feel like a continuation and more like a replacement. Just doesn't feel right idk, might just be because it's different
I see the door has been opened for a new range of Adventures for The Doctor & Donna from Big Finish. 😊 Loved every moment of this episode, loved hearing all the Masters and Missy when the tooth got picked up! ❤
@@katv1195I think Kate's meant to be the star of that, but DT might guest occasionally. I wonder how much Donna would appear with her getting a job there.
Donna has a REALLY well paying Job, but most of all she has her best friend back, and so has 10/14. They're both happy. I am happy. The best think about it also is, it opens the possibility for both to return later helping out Ncuti or any future doctor (as long as Tennant and Tate want to return)
I think the possibility of Tenant coming back is so good but I also think decision is really bold and controversial because the whole Doctor passes on the torch to the next Doctor is in the fabric of Doctor Who so this new thing might lessen the impact of it and even make ppl less interested in Ncuti’s Doctor knowing that Tenants one is alive idk I love it but it’s deffo something to get used to it. Making too many spin offs might ruin it if not done properly and just dilute the Doctor Who universe but hey I’m down with RTDs writing so let’s seeee
So excited for Ncuti! He was so cool! NPH was amazing absolutely nailed it, He said his legions are coming but god I hope we can get him back as a recurring villain, was just so good!
I was trying to place the music that played when Mel said "every one of you is fantastic" and finally figured, it's the one that plays when Nine regenerates 😭
I think the Bigeneration thing can actually explain The Curator since the Curator has appeared as the 4th, 6th, & 11th doctors (the latter 2 in the Big Finish Audios). 14th changes name to The Curator & regenerates backwards. But that's just a theory.
@@harryvideoz8863 No, nucit is still 15 because the Bigeneration is still a regeneration of sorts it's just that The Doctors body was worn down, turned into an old face when normally that isn't the case, & Bigenerated which also normally doesn't happen but it also in a way healed them. It's a regeneration that split. So technically whatever 14 regenerates to, it's THEIR 16th. But will now be turning into older faces. Again, it's a theory & might not be the answer. Think of it like the Meta Crisis Doctor but still with regenerative abilities.
Some of the special effects in this episode were amazing. (And the part when they were in the Toymaker's realm felt a bit like Hellraiser 2.) It kind of makes you wonder about the times when the effects are dodgy. Nevertheless, I thought this was a pretty touching and clever ending. Not to mention it being a sneaky way of leaving the door open for more Tennant appearances.
David’s incarnation of the doctor transcended being just another regeneration, that’s the level of impact David had on the show. His regeneration grew and became almost like his own timelord he is the doctor but at the same time so much more than that ❤ I hope we see a spin off or something with David’s doctor now
The One Who Waits - I think that might be an Amy or Rory reference. Amy - due to her waiting for Eleven to come back and maybe the old Amy with the Samuri sword. Rory - when he was the Centurian guard Amy in the Pandorica.
Glad you are enjoying our little tv show from Britain! 😁I thought it was very enjoyable. Already looks like Ncuti is going to be really good in this role. Full of energy, charisma and vibrancy. Can't wait for more!
Okay, I'm calling it. The curator of the museum in Day of the Doctor is who the David Tenant doctor eventually regenerates into. He mentioned revisiting his favorite old faces, and he understands the value of settling down.
I didn't even know that these aired until you showed up in my notifications. So l binged the episodes and and then l automatically binged your reaction/ reviews. The whole thing was just magical. I'm sure that l am in the thrall of David Tennant, and Katherine Tate . I enjoyed every moment of it . I like the new Doctors energy, and I'm hear for it . To sum of my feelings about everything I will say " Molto Bene !

I always thought if he’d have taken a pay cut during the original RTD or Moffat era and they brought the Toymaker back then Robin Williams could have been awesome as the Toymaker.
I’ve personally never watched doctor who. But I saw a clip of this special with NPH so I gave the 3 specials a shot and they were really good! Even tho I am not familiar with the show or the characters. It somehow felt really nostalgic and it felt like I’ve known these characters for a long time. It felt somehow familiar. I do plan to actually watch the show now that I’ve seen these specials.
The scene where they played the final game with the ball. That wasn't CGI Ncuti had a hard time catching so they did a slight of hand. They showed the behind the scenes of the episode. The new sonic is interesting can't wait to see how it works.
Interestingly, after "The Split" the Closed Captioning identified Tennant's 14th Doctor as "Tenth Doctor" whenever he spoke while still atop the UNIT building.
I kinda knew the outcome due to a leak but happy with it. Only Bubble I have is, Tennant could have said "I don't wanna go" at the end, buy in reference to staying with Donna, coming full circle. Neil Patrick Harris was outstanding. Great review guys. The bad news is I've decided to ditch the fan reactions but I'm sure a few silly edits will appear elsewhere
The Giggle was a crazy special for sure, but I really liked it. It was both Weird & Wonderful. 🃏❤ I loved Neil Patrick Harris as the Toymaker. Teared up a little seeing the Doctor so happy at the table scene. It was heartwarming to get a happy ending
though the other two specials were great this one to me was just SO GOOD, Ncuti has already captured me as 15 and i’m excited to see more of him!! NPH also was AMAZING as the celestial toymaker and did such a good job of capturing the crazy, scary, fun that the toymaker gives off and it’s probably my favorite performance of the episode
NPH was awesome in this. And loving the new Doctor already. He is so playful but also intense. And David Tennant is still around, which makes this even better. Looking forward to the Christmas Special.
Definitely the best of the Specials mainly for Neil Patrick Harris performance as the Toymaker real theat, as for Nucati Gatwa he was very watchable lots of energy.
Rory Williams: "There are soldiers all over my house and I'm in my pants" Fifteenth Doctor: "I'm on a UNIT helipad and my jukebox was almost exposed!" Fourteenth Doctor: "Anyway, moving on!"
Ncuti's portrayal of the Doctor is really great! This energy and his sympathetic charisma is fantastic, this is going to be a great Doctor! Now just need to get the scripts right!
When David. Said. I don't want to go,,,,,,, is because. He was having second thoughts about Leaving. ,,,,,, HE REALLY DIDNT WANT TO GO,,,, he would of liked to stay couple more years. So we heard ,,,,,,,,👍👍👍👍👍👍
'The Duchess' is in the credits as far as the hand and tooth goes. She is played by Indira Varma. Given the title, I'm guessing another Time Lady, maybe the Rani? Maybe Romana? Maybe someone unknown thus far.
I READ THAT SOMEWHERE IT'S JUST A THEORY Remember the curator in The Day Of The Doctor? He says to 11th that he is gonna revisit some old faces, what if it's him? They can connect it easily now
Oh this was episode was so wacky, fun and unexpected. NPH was great as the Toymaker, I do love it when they bring back a monster and villain or a old companion for classic who to new who. But yes of course The Toymaker first appeared back in 1966 with the first Doctor, sadly he’s story only has part 4 as the other 3 are lost in bbc archives. But I’ve listened to Audio dramas featuring the Toymaker and they are pretty good. And it is great seeing Mel again.
The episode was really enjoyable and excellent. Ncuti will take some getting used to but he seems to be good. Bi-generation is a superb device and idea.
Yes the ball is GG, there's a video on the official Who channel where they admit that none of them could catch it. Funny thing about the clothes thing, if'n you look, they each have half of Tennant's costume on.
Let me just say, this is why I love Doctor Who. I saw a lot of fans complaining about Whitaker's run, saying Doctor Who was dead, it's over, etc. I saw Colin Baker's run, when the show was seen as terrible and Colin Baker was reviled for his portrayal. Then the big finish audio came out and he nailed the role. Doctor Who has never been a show with consistent quality, it goes from terrible to great, but even the terrible stuff is just a challenge for other actors and writers to work with. Personally I think Chibnell just needed, ironically, more time to flesh out these ideas, and maybe that can be provided here, or ignoring timeless child, or do something else entirely. That's the reason I like the show. You never know what's coming next, or how the writers or actors work with previous stuff, to improve it, change it, or rediscover it. Like the toymaster for example.

And Ncuti looks like he's going to have some super infectious energy, he's gonna be fun.
100% agree. Ncutis' Doctor is the Dr who is at peace with himself. Its going to be a fun ride.

Still waiting for the Welsh doctor 😡😡😂😂😂😂
I was expecting to be crying, and instead I am filled with hope and joy. This was by far my favorite regeneration and 15 was so wonderfully supportive of himself in his pain, lol self hugs for everyone.
It almost feels like a Christmas special
My only concern is for them not to screw anything up. I like the new doctor too. Hope this series is given the space and breadth to do well. I
I think Ncuti is going to be a FANTASTIC Doctor; I already love him.
14 now retires and becomes the curator (probably given the job by UNIT) he later assumes a regeneration and becomes Tom Baker again.. Revisiting the old favorite. Or atleast that is my theory
We like that theory!
Finally for the first time in the show's history, a regeneration episode that has a 100% HAPPY ENDING. 😄👏👏👏
99% - i feel like it would be even happier, if Bernard could be there for the whole episode.
Agree. Nice ending.
I miss Bernardxxxxxx
@@LGBTQ71 Wilf has been the true heart of the David Tennant-era seasons as well as the End of Time two parters. Gonna miss him very much. RIP Bernard Cribbins ❤
I mean, during the companions anonymous meeting from Power of the Doctor, Kate did say she would prolly hire any of them. Also, I think David's Doctor will eventually become the Curator
That's a good idea.
OH THAT'S SO PERFECTLY FULL CIRCLE I'M CHOOSING TO BELIEVE THIS AS FACT
If David-Doctor is the one that’s less adventurous, having a physical home, he'd definitely make a great Curator predecessor
Mind blown. He even said you'll find yourself revisiting a few of just the old favorites.
@@marywilka8769RTD said in the commentary it's the same TARDIS, and that it will be shown in an upcoming episode...
@@evilchairproductions482 same tardis but still two tardises is what that meant i think
I love ncuti already and i love hes theme starts playing when hes in the tardis
The Fifth Doctor (Peter Davidson - DT's father in law) as he regenerated said "it feels different this time" too!
It was a multi-Doctor special after all!
And in the most unexpected and fresh way ever
One of my favorite episodes ever. This was so much fun. NPH was outstanding. The biregeneration is such a bold idea. I love it!
I can't make up my mind about it, to me atleast, it doesn't feel like a continuation and more like a replacement.
Just doesn't feel right idk, might just be because it's different
Im totally ok with this choice. Also becuase david tenant is finally at peace and happy :)
@@JF-204what makes it feel like a replacement (outside of usual regeneration stuff?). Not attacking just curious on the thought process
I see the door has been opened for a new range of Adventures for The Doctor & Donna from Big Finish. 😊
Loved every moment of this episode, loved hearing all the Masters and Missy when the tooth got picked up! ❤
@@katv1195I think Kate's meant to be the star of that, but DT might guest occasionally. I wonder how much Donna would appear with her getting a job there.
Another thing this offers is the possibility of more Jo Martin, after all if'n 14 & 15 can exist in the same universe, why can't she?
You can just tell how much RTD loves Dr Who. With him the show just gets better and better :)
One thing I just noticed when that hand picks up the gold tooth that is the Master -- you can hear ALL the Master's laughing!
I wish we could say it's Missy picking them up
Never count out a time traveller just because they died.
They can always show up later for us, earlier for them.
I was trying to place the music that played when Mel said "every one of you is fantastic" and finally figured, it's the one that plays when Nine regenerates 😭
What a tough deal for Martha all his other companions get their own Tennant but she's stuck with Mickey.

I assume Tennant visited Martha while he's on his break.

I think the Bigeneration thing can actually explain The Curator since the Curator has appeared as the 4th, 6th, & 11th doctors (the latter 2 in the Big Finish Audios). 14th changes name to The Curator & regenerates backwards. But that's just a theory.
Good theory, I like it!
So nucit isn’t the 15th doctor but the 1st of a new character and who ever David regenerates into is the true 15th
Love that the hairdressers next to the toymakers shop is called grade's i.e. the surname of the man who cancelled dr who in 80s
Honestly, i'd just love a series of them sitting down having dinner telling stories.
David’s incarnation of the doctor transcended being just another regeneration, that’s the level of impact David had on the show. His regeneration grew and became almost like his own timelord he is the doctor but at the same time so much more than that ❤ I hope we see a spin off or something with David’s doctor now
I love this episode!!! That twist with the regeneration was brilliant. Ncuti is fantastic!!! I can’t wait for the Christmas special.
The One Who Waits - I think that might be an Amy or Rory reference.
Amy - due to her waiting for Eleven to come back and maybe the old Amy with the Samuri sword.
Rory - when he was the Centurian guard Amy in the Pandorica.
No it's nothing to do with them it's something or someone that'll come in future, the overarching story probably of the new doctor
Glad you are enjoying our little tv show from Britain! 😁I thought it was very enjoyable.
Already looks like Ncuti is going to be really good in this role. Full of energy, charisma and vibrancy. Can't wait for more!
Split series, one half 14 Doctor, second half 15. One for the summer and one for the winter. Endless adventures.
'Physician, heal thyself.'
Okay, I'm calling it. The curator of the museum in Day of the Doctor is who the David Tenant doctor eventually regenerates into. He mentioned revisiting his favorite old faces, and he understands the value of settling down.
Neil Patrick Harris was fantastic in this special and that ending got me vary tear eye
I knew Ncuti would be great but he still absolutely blew my expectations out of the water. Fifteen is going to be INCREDIBLE
dude when the ninth doctor's regeneration music started playing after melanie said the doctor is fantastic, i felt chills everywhere
I noticed on a rewatch that every female character in UNIT had natural nails. The only one with red nails was Kate.
i just FINISHED the episode and OMG it was FUCKIN BRILLIANT like a too good to be true ending and Neil Patrick??? he was so great as a villain
5:42 I noticed this is even the same news reader from Stolen Earth whenever Wilf says America will save them, cut to her on the news, "America is in crisis" lol
I always thought if he’d have taken a pay cut during the original RTD or Moffat era and they brought the Toymaker back then Robin Williams could have been awesome as the Toymaker.
That is not to say, however, that NPH wasn’t good. He was great.
So glad you enjoyed yourself with these specials!! Once you get into Doctor Who you are in for a treat!!
The scene where they played the final game with the ball. That wasn't CGI Ncuti had a hard time catching so they did a slight of hand. They showed the behind the scenes of the episode. The new sonic is interesting can't wait to see how it works.
I reacted the same way during the regeneration. I am actually pleased with this 60th special.
RTD's mission is to have 100 David Tennants running around by the end of his tenure lmao.
And none for Martha
If that would be everyone’s mission, the world would be a better place
Interestingly, after "The Split" the Closed Captioning identified Tennant's 14th Doctor as "Tenth Doctor" whenever he spoke while still atop the UNIT building.
So much fun! ⏳ I'm ready for more Ncuti.
When Mel says fantastic the song that’s playing is the same as the one when nine says ‘and you know what…..so was I’
Rory Williams: "There are soldiers all over my house and I'm in my pants"
Fifteenth Doctor: "I'm on a UNIT helipad and my jukebox was almost exposed!"
Fourteenth Doctor: "Anyway, moving on!"
Ncuti's portrayal of the Doctor is really great! This energy and his sympathetic charisma is fantastic, this is going to be a great Doctor! Now just need to get the scripts right!
The 5 doctor's but Tenant is just there twice, just picturing it makes me have a laugh
When David. Said. I don't want to go,,,,,,, is because. He was having second thoughts about Leaving. ,,,,,, HE REALLY DIDNT WANT TO GO,,,, he would of liked to stay couple more years. So we heard ,,,,,,,,👍👍👍👍👍👍
I love 15's energy already.
'The Duchess' is in the credits as far as the hand and tooth goes. She is played by Indira Varma. Given the title, I'm guessing another Time Lady, maybe the Rani? Maybe Romana? Maybe someone unknown thus far.
I READ THAT SOMEWHERE IT'S JUST A THEORY
Remember the curator in The Day Of The Doctor? He says to 11th that he is gonna revisit some old faces, what if it's him? They can connect it easily now
Kinda wish they had an episode trying to seperat dr 14 & 15 as The Doctor runs around with 2 heads. BRILLIANT EPISODE 🖖👽✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Brilliant episode. From a forever Dr Who fan.
The UNIT tower is a bit glued on the top of the "Walkie Talkie" building that is real in London.
That was fun! Like my fellow Robert, I didn't see that coming. Oh, and I was halfway through the reaction before I realized what Vanessa's hat said. 👏
I didnt expect it to end that way... it's ruined me that for once and for now... we actually get a full on happy ending.

Looks like Tennant's Doctor finally got his reward.
I am so happy to see David Tennant back as the Dr.
I watched behind the scenes and they had trouble catching the ball, so they would palm it and then close their hand to look like they caught it.
I loved the specials, love Ncuti, love Donna’s entire family, Unit, NPH, the whole shebang
Donna Noble is the most important woman in the whole of creation… because she’s where the Doctor is home. ❤
The episode was really enjoyable and excellent. Ncuti will take some getting used to but he seems to be good.
Bi-generation is a superb device and idea.
I'm clowning and hoping Missy picked up the master tooth!!
I think it's The Rani.. look at the nails
19:07 I am 90% sure that was Kate’s red lacquered nails that picked it up this time.
Yes the ball is GG, there's a video on the official Who channel where they admit that none of them could catch it.
Funny thing about the clothes thing, if'n you look, they each have half of Tennant's costume on.
In the interview Ncuti said he was hopeless at catching the ball so he kept it in his hand all the time!
Kudos for mentioning NPH in Dr Horrible, that made me subscribe!
Tennant and Tate's chemistry really pays off here there are moments that feel like there not acting
Robert: “Does he not have pants? I didn’t even realize.”
Vanessa: “I realized…” 👀
LMAO
