Compared to a lot of other jobs say working at a local grocery store or walmart or fast food Amazon is a no brainer. The pay is like double the minimum wage, the benefits are amazing and incentives and bonuses are often. For example for the month of July we got a $500 bonus and double time for any over time hours worked in a week. A couple weeks ago i made $1370 in ONE week working 2 extra days so 5 days total, 56 hours. That is, of course, if you can stand the negatives such as being on your feet all day, hot FCs and repetitive tasks.
I’ve been working now for like 3 weeks.. this weeks makes me 4 weeks starting tomorrow… it’s going good so far… but as a picker, it’s a lotta standing that’s for sure. The money is good. I take a lotta VET tho cause I’m tryna buy a whip in fall

Then “boring”, “repetitive” is spot on haha. However, when ever I feel like quitting, I remind myself that this is only temporary and I am going to college to work towards my airline pilot career. Pays really good as well. My super market gig only lasted 6 months and the pay was worse lol.
I'm stoked about my first day 😁 little nervous about working 3rd shift for 12 hours but i thought it would be easier to push through 2 hours 3x than adding another day for 10. Plus, the added $2.90 per hour will help get me through lol
i like that you get an offer right after applying, no interview. i HATE interviews. i’ve been interviewing for software engineer jobs and they are sometimes a 3 step interview process of long interviews, just to get ghosted by them. for the time being, amazon warehouse it is

Making it through my second week at Amazon. I work day shifts on outbound shipdock. Not bad, it's a typical warehouse to me, but I still think they should be paying more than $15.00. Fast pace and physical demanding but time goes by quick. I think what has helped me get through each week is having a self care routine. Your videos have helped me alot!
As someone who worked there for 4 months my advice is it isn’t the best job unless either need a steady income for the summer or you plan to grow there/work long term to establish a career/resume or to get into career choice program. Having a set of skills, knowledge, and experience will definitely pay you much better, I’m making 20 an hour now for far less stressful work at another employer
I don’t get holidays off except Christmas. I do get holiday pay 8 hrs and time and a half for working on the holiday. Memorial Day got me around $400 before taxes. Holiday Pay is basically bonus pay

Also sidebit that im going to get a degree in SCM, so i've been able to start advancing up after asking PA's here what I can do and its gonna hella help my resume. My facility also has great managers and people in it, so far dont regret it at all I hear Fulfillment centers are a different story though...
Amazon is a good job and logically, a lot of people can do it. But it depends on the person and also because of covid can be hard for some. But in my opinion, amazon is a great place to work.

I've been looking to close my business for a good job with great benefits...3 years later I've recently applied and was hired at Amazon. Lol the one in joliet def deserves hate. Had to literally email the higher ups cuz a manager looked me in my face and told me he was gonna go to hr and lie on me to make me lose my job. Almost beat tf outta him for the audacity but my girl stopped me
God I’ve been working for Amazon for probably like 11 months now and let me tell you 😰😰 I’m dead. I work in ship dock and only get like 550 a week. Idk how it is in other states but I’m in NJ and the warehouse is always crazy crazy busy and every single day is so hard to get through. Only reason I’m staying is cause I’m like one of the main people who do everything and I’ve already built myself up to the point the PA’s and managers are so cool with me and trust me to do anything there and plus I help out a lot of people and know everybody so I just don’t want to lose all of that

I make 500. per week with Doordash working 23 hrs in San Diego. Beach, movies, guitar, friends, shopping... Girl, we are in the gig work economy now and working for Bezos is like old 1980s garbage. I get my money EVERY DAY.
My friend makes up to 1200. per week w.Ddash only 32 hrs per wk, he works diff zip codes, he gets tipped better than me. We have a friend who works for Amazon in their warehouse full time, poor guy is slaving and complaining all the time about his bills. As much as I would like to try to work for Amazon my expertise is in sales, collections, tech support. I'd have to move to Washington for really good money.

It isn't happening in "expensive" states, the $3 an hour must be going to under 1% of employees. Seems like 50 cents went to a huge majority regardless of location. They just wanted the good PR with the "$3" nonsense.

Good video. I start in a few days. Watching a bunch of videos like this and so many people complaining about working here. The reasons tho are mind blowing. It's literally like "they actually wanted me to work when I clocked in so I quit" so like you said just about every job is easy. I'll take the overtime too. Everyone else go ahead quit and leave early. More overtime for me. Can you explain the 4th of July example again? Did I understand you right that if it's a normal scheduled day for you you get a paid day off or if you want to come in it's 1.5?
I start next week. As far as I could tell from reading the manual you get certain holidays off with pay or you can work them for over time. And yes, I am shocked that people are upset that they have to be on time and work on the clock, the whole time lol
Its definitely a great job somthing, I would add is in a delivery station u tend to get shifted around a bit to change roles at least in my building and it tends to make it a little less boring. Downside to ds right now though is there kinda limited in shift schedules due to megacycle and not alot of people want to do 240am to 110pm
that set of hours does sound bad at first, but youll get use to it so Im sure a lot of people are just discourages. And yes i agree it a lowkey great job!
Thanks for putting all this effort into getting a raise for employees. It goes to show you that the company does care about its employees. More people will stay now that they will be making that type of money. Hopefully there will be job openings at the end of July. If not I'll have to wait until Christmas time.

Okay, I'm 37 and looking forward to a boring and repetitive job. Who wouldn't? That's how you get really good at your job. I worked in a casino for 15 years with drunk customers and I am done with that. Also no raises. Ever. Imagine my surprise when I see how much Amazon is hiring for and with great benefits. The insurance alone is amazing! This isn't just a summer job for me, it's going to be a career. Imagine making $11.50 for 15 years with crappy insurance, drunk & rude customers and then seeing Amazon for $18+ dollars, holidays paid (casinos you worked the holidays and no time and a half) and benefits start right away vs 90 days. I know it won't be easy but it's better than what was used to.

If you're young and ambitious and in college, a full time job at an Amazon FC would be a great way to really f up your summer break. I needed money back when I was in college and would work a campus job and regular retail over summer and try to get more hours. That's a typical situation. It's kind of a bummer working more but those are normal jobs, you have interactivity, build communication skill, learn new things, etc. You still have no studying so summer is still nice and working at a store or restaurant can be kind of fun at times. Amazon FC is NOT that. Fulltime at an FC means they own your existence and you are logged into a station doing some excruciatingly boring, maybe physically strenuous work like a mule for 10+ hours a day with a high chance of mandatory overtime. Being tracked like a prisoner via your scanner/station with zero breathing room. You'll get plenty of hours and make money, but it will not be healthy for your body or mind. If you're physically out of shape or not incredibly mentally disciplined, you'll probably quit which NOBODY should fault anyone for.

9:32 just an FYI that may be just for your FC or your state because that does NOT apply here in CT thats for sure. I worked the 4th, thanksgiving, christmas eve etc...If you are scheduled to work that day you must come or use your own time. I did still get the 6hrs of holiday pay but the time spent at work was NOT time and a half nor was it optional to come in. On those days however, there was usually a reduced work schedule. Thanksgiving for example i dont think i had to come in until 1100 at night versus the usually 630PM.
I think it's a good summer job but one has to be quite disciplined and willing to put in the work. Question, how does the Zappos credit work? Do you know if they just pay the difference or you get fully reimbursed up to the allowance?

Full time and reduced time have different pay rates. I also hear Flex shifts get bonus $5/hr on some shifts. But they are part time and don’t have set schedules.
There are a lot, most commonly 10 hrs for 4 days a week, 3 days 12 hrs overnight. 10-12hr daytime shifts on weekends. And I even heard there are 5daysx8hr shifts

One question I have is, would I receive 8 hours of overtime pay in a 40 hour work week since my shifts are 10 hours in length instead of 8? You also mentioned that Amazon would pay more on weekends. Is this only for the night shift, or would I receive it on the day shift as well?
I just started, full time, I'm working night 3am-12pm one thing I notice, my warehouse is small we have no robots or forklifts we have dolly for pallets.
When you do decide to work OT can you decide which days and which not, also what if you work OT plus a holiday day what will the hourly pay bump up to?
I picked to work Thur-Sun and they only gave me 85cents more here in Phoenix and I have no idea if the OT is regular. the only way its worth it is if I can regularly get OT. Think ill most likely withdraw at this point
I’m starting Saturday at 2:40am for 10 hour shifts 4 days a week at a delivery station in Sterling, VA. Base $15.40 and $1.00 night differential. They said nothing about working both weekend days. Anything I can do?
Well u can call HR and see if they have any other shifts available/open for u to do an internal switch. But other than that, u can only quit and reapply to change shifts

Ship dock is the only position that I like but the only thing is that it’s a lot of walking but I like it 100x better than picking and counting
what about stowing? Ship dock doesnt have the stresssful TOT and rates u want to hit but yes has loads of walking

As a L1 ambassador in customer returns though, it can be difficult, but otherwise if you want to work up the latter, you need to put in the work.

I'm working amazon as a rehire, as much as i hate it i gotta admit the pay and benefits are worth staying at. Reduced time kicks my sleep schedule in the ass though lol
Yeah, that extra $3 an hour is probably only happening in expensive states, lol. Here in Indiana I think its 50 cents. Better than nothing I guess.
Also, I work Sat-Tue and don't get anything extra for working on the weekend.

I worked in the summer at Amazon last year it wasn’t that bad but it was hot I used to work on the third floor so it was hotter up there but it ain’t that bad tho I think it’s a good job

Good video. I start in a few days. Watching a bunch of videos like this and so many people complaining about working here. The reasons tho are mind blowing. It's literally like "they actually wanted me to work when I clocked in so I quit" so like you said just about every job is easy. I'll take the overtime too. Everyone else go ahead quit and leave early. More overtime for me.
Can you explain the 4th of July example again? Did I understand you right that if it's a normal scheduled day for you you get a paid day off or if you want to come in it's 1.5?
I start next week. As far as I could tell from reading the manual you get certain holidays off with pay or you can work them for over time.

Its definitely a great job somthing, I would add is in a delivery station u tend to get shifted around a bit to change roles at least in my building and it tends to make it a little less boring. Downside to ds right now though is there kinda limited in shift schedules due to megacycle and not alot of people want to do 240am to 110pm
that set of hours does sound bad at first, but youll get use to it so Im sure a lot of people are just discourages. And yes i agree it a lowkey great job!
Thanks for putting all this effort into getting a raise for employees. It goes to show you that the company does care about its employees. More people will stay now that they will be making that type of money. Hopefully there will be job openings at the end of July. If not I'll have to wait until Christmas time.

Imagine my surprise when I see how much Amazon is hiring for and with great benefits.
The insurance alone is amazing! This isn't just a summer job for me, it's going to be a career. Imagine making $11.50 for 15 years with crappy insurance, drunk & rude customers and then seeing Amazon for $18+ dollars, holidays paid (casinos you worked the holidays and no time and a half) and benefits start right away vs 90 days.
I know it won't be easy but it's better than what was used to.

If you're young and ambitious and in college, a full time job at an Amazon FC would be a great way to really f up your summer break. I needed money back when I was in college and would work a campus job and regular retail over summer and try to get more hours. That's a typical situation. It's kind of a bummer working more but those are normal jobs, you have interactivity, build communication skill, learn new things, etc. You still have no studying so summer is still nice and working at a store or restaurant can be kind of fun at times. Amazon FC is NOT that. Fulltime at an FC means they own your existence and you are logged into a station doing some excruciatingly boring, maybe physically strenuous work like a mule for 10+ hours a day with a high chance of mandatory overtime. Being tracked like a prisoner via your scanner/station with zero breathing room. You'll get plenty of hours and make money, but it will not be healthy for your body or mind. If you're physically out of shape or not incredibly mentally disciplined, you'll probably quit which NOBODY should fault anyone for.

9:32 just an FYI that may be just for your FC or your state because that does NOT apply here in CT thats for sure. I worked the 4th, thanksgiving, christmas eve etc...If you are scheduled to work that day you must come or use your own time. I did still get the 6hrs of holiday pay but the time spent at work was NOT time and a half nor was it optional to come in. On those days however, there was usually a reduced work schedule. Thanksgiving for example i dont think i had to come in until 1100 at night versus the usually 630PM.
I think it's a good summer job but one has to be quite disciplined and willing to put in the work.
Question, how does the Zappos credit work? Do you know if they just pay the difference or you get fully reimbursed up to the allowance?
I beleive you get a voucher with a set amount on it. So u would pay out of pocket if u exceed the amount

you did the math wrong on the pay, thats pre tax. if you do after tax its only 742 for 50 hours if you work 60 tho its 936 i think

There are a lot, most commonly 10 hrs for 4 days a week, 3 days 12 hrs overnight. 10-12hr daytime shifts on weekends. And I even heard there are 5daysx8hr shifts

One question I have is, would I receive 8 hours of overtime pay in a 40 hour work week since my shifts are 10 hours in length instead of 8? You also mentioned that Amazon would pay more on weekends. Is this only for the night shift, or would I receive it on the day shift as well?
I just started, full time, I'm working night 3am-12pm one thing I notice, my warehouse is small we have no robots or forklifts we have dolly for pallets.
Sadly they do not pay that, Utah amazon minimum is 15 but I'm working late shifts so it's only 17 an hour

I get paid £9.70 per hour which converts $13.74. We don't get paid extra for public holidays, so on pay you have it good. We are way behind.

When you do decide to work OT can you decide which days and which not, also what if you work OT plus a holiday day what will the hourly pay bump up to?
I picked to work Thur-Sun and they only gave me 85cents more here in Phoenix and I have no idea if the OT is regular. the only way its worth it is if I can regularly get OT. Think ill most likely withdraw at this point

Well u can call HR and see if they have any other shifts available/open for u to do an internal switch. But other than that, u can only quit and reapply to change shifts
