When I’m at groceries stores. The checkout scanner sound reminds Me of work 😂😂 and start my location we have to call out our “corner” or “crossing” when going through the aisles and I catch myself at grocery stores to remind myself I’m not at work and don’t have to say it
I start my 2nd week tmrw as a picker. I honestly was really worried about starting Bc of so many negative reviews I’ve heard on TH-cam. I can honestly say that I genuinely do not mind doing it at all. Having headphones would absolutely make it 10x better!
Yeah I don't think it's that bad either! I know some roles are def harder than others, but picking and stowing aren't that bad at all. Music is a life saver. Best decision I made to buy wireless earbuds
Definitely wear a mask that covers your ears. You might look silly to others or yourself but when you pop a AirPod or wireless earphone in it definitely helps your shift go by and helps keep you engaged/motivated depending on your playlist. So many people complain that working at Amazon would be better if “we could listen to music” well buddy let me tell you it DEFINITELY is better at least in my opinion. Last night I had to work and miss watching the Lakers-Clippers game but was able to listen to the whole game and visualize what was happening as I worked. #GameChanger
#GameChanger indeed! Against policy or not, using wireless earbuds to work in 100% worth the risk. Since if you didn't have them you might consider just quitting
I agree on the no music allowed I can’t live without music and I’m so used to listening to music because it makes the job more tolerable. When I was detailing cars I put on music and I really enjoyed doing it.
During my breaks I just chill at my station. If I’m lucky I don’t get caught. But I have gotten caught before. Telling me “you can’t sit on the ladder nor totes” like bruhh
NFZ Productions lmao I’m cool with my pa and I asked him tonight after seeing this why we can’t sit on ladders he said he’s not sure but probably because workers would fall asleep from all the standing in Jeff bezos eyes lmfaooo
Love the videos you’re making. I joined the amazon warehouse last week and my impressions aren’t that good. The first email I got was, “thanks for joining amazon your orientation will be around 4-5 hours long.” So I dressed accordingly but once I got there, there wasn’t any orientation. We didn’t get a tour of where we need to go or anything. We just got put into a station and we’re being taught how to work. I got the 7:30am - 6:pm shifts as a stower and I’ve been able to reach the “amazon expected rate” but the thing that I don’t like about the job so far is the sever disorientation with the stations. Last Wednesday I had to switch stations 3 times because they kept putting people in other stations and I went from the 3rd floor, to the 1st floor, and then to the 4th floor. I just hope you’re gonna fix things so that I don’t keep losing my station. Anyways love the videos you’re putting out. They’re very informative and keep at it.
Thanks so much bro. Comments like this keep me motivated! 🙏 And as for what you said about your experience, Amazon is really flawed and unorganized in general so what you mentioned didn't surprise me. But what you went though is more unorganized than mine has been so I would be frustrated too. But just stay at it. The longer you're there the more things you'll learn
Because of covoid my fufillment center allows us to carry your phone with you with the intent of it being used for emergencies. Do you think I can take advantage of this and play music on my speaker on the lowest level to where I can barely hear it and get away with it?
It stopped me from quitting college. To make decent amounts it seems the best bet is to have specialised skills. I’ve done dead end jobs before and really disliked them.
i will start working at amazon but only for 4 hours and im already stressed with all these videos haha. but i thank you for the fair warning. i am not a quitter but I will do my very best.
Yeah... I'm a picker and I bring the item with me. I scan it, right before I leave for break, still takes 5 mins to get to the break room. Also it seems, like I go a little insane, only hearing the beeps all day XD. I need music.
Nice that's smart. And yea this is a good idea. Try hiding some wireless earbuds like I do. Worst that happens is you get a warning for your first offence. But honestly you prolly won't get into trouble as long as you cover it
I really enjoyed this and your prior criticism video and I must say you were excellent! There is a reason the people at Amazon have come across your vid. Well done!
Great Points and Topic! Everything you said is true and I'm glad you did this video to bring these situations to Light👏! I PRAY CHANGE IS COMING SOON FOR ALL AMAZON WORKERS🙏 AMAZON MUST MAKE THEIR COMPANY AN EASIER AND BETTER PLACE TO WORK FOR ALL🙏
I hate the modern day slave perception too. Just yesterday someone asked me where I worked. I hesitated to say Amazon but did. The person's reaction was essentially how can you stand working there? The perception of my job by others makes me feel like a second class citizen sometimes. This is especially hard when I just moved to Minnesota a few months ago so I don't know many people here.
Exactly! The job we work gives a horrible impression to others. And it's a bit degrading when you bring up your job in a conversation and they immediately throw something negative about it
My breaks weren't bad. There was 5 break rooms that I knew of before I resigned out of outbound shipping (feet just couldn't handle it yet). The biggest problem was when I left my bag at the packing/outbound room and was pawned off to inbound half my shift on nearly the other side of the warehouse.
You are right man! If majority of the employees can't achieve the required rate, they should just reassess their expectations rather than telling employees to work faster and improve their task time. It is hard to maintain each day for ten hours but for the ones who are the fastest, then they should be rewarded.
I recently just quit. I worked at a smaller distribution Amazon and I worked nights and it’s horrible. People don’t show up and then you’re the one who has to pick up the slack. I was taking pain pills before my shifts just to try to not be in a ton of pain even though I still ended up being in pain. One day I was light headed and felt like I was going to pass out and my manager’s advice was to go drink some water and then come back. That was my last day working because my health is much much much more worth it to me. Then their “thank you bonus” that I got from Amazon was $250 cause I only work 32 hours a week ended up being $167 because they taxed it all to hell. I put my body and health on the line during a pandemic and that’s what I got. Jeff Bezos and his staff can kiss my ass.
awe man. This whole comment just goes to show just how poorly the richest man in the world treats its employees... Having to take pain pills to be able to work for you, poor heath advice on the job, and lousy pay during a global pandemic... wow
NFZ Productions I agree. I feel so bad for the employees who can’t find anything else and stuck to this slave work. It’s mentally and physically exhausting. In my case, I found a new job and loving every bit of it. Once you leave Amazon they never hire you back according to what I’ve heard but I’m not worried about that cause I’ll never wanna go back.
Wow! Reading Troy's comment makes me really sad and also scared about working there because I just applied at an Amazon warehouse here in Germany. I hope you did find some better and I also hope that you feeling better now troy.
@@mrdan5943 I did find something better and it’s been 3 or 4 months since I worked there and even still I have minor back pain after being on my feet or slightly bent over too long. My feet crack when I walk so I can’t sneak up on anyone haha. I think it’ll take time before i feel completely better. Hopefully you like it better and it works out for you.
For the first of no music. I've seen multiple stations blaring music sometimes from full on stage speakers. Happened during training to and the trainer was like "I have no idea why this is playing music" - turns it off. They were strict abouts it in my first warehouse because we were forklift operators. But outbound at a different didn't seem to have issues. No idea what the mods with KIVAs can get away with.
So you're saying they have music but choose not to play it? I've never heard music playing in my warehouse. If I did, I wouldn't be hiding my earbuds every shift
The Houston locations are never how people describe other amazon which is funny to me i couldn’t deal with what other associates go through in other cities But i agree with lots of things you pointed out lol it IS amazon 🤦🏽♂️😂 but overall all the best job ever. I was a stower ,picker, tugger, worked on dock, reach truck, andICQA and now I’m a driver all within a year !
I don't work for Amazon, but I fought the heck out of the earbud thing. It always came back to Osha and Safety bs. Finally!!!!!!beginning this year we were allowed to wear just one earbud on a trial basis. It sure makes the day go by so much smotther!!!!!!
Hey NFZ I’m curious I have heard that people get to pick their own schedules working as warehouse associate I recently just started working seasonal sortation will I eventually be able to make my own schedule? Or is my current schedule what I’m stuck to? Cheers!
Eventually yes you can. But you have to be a blue badge for that. At my locstion it takes 90 days to become a blue badge. If you need a schedule change now, I think your only option would to withdraw your current app and reapply and hope for a better scheudle
They are stern on the no music policy. Trust. Many AAs tried in the past and it is a firm no lol. The rates are ridiculous, bezos isnt the one who looks into that of course, it is some other guy who doesnt know how bad it is and thinks that everyone is happy when he is delusional. There is a documentary out there, i suggest you check it out.
wow a documentary on being an Amazon warehouse worker?? That's interesting. And rates are so bad, I have no idea how it's allowed to be so high when they clearly can see so many workers can't get achieve them. It's pretty comical how ridiculous it is
@@NFZProductions yeah it is bad. You can blame those power hours and people who are overachievers hitting such high rates and the higher ups thinking that it is cool to continuously push the rate up a couple notches. Its all a nunbers game. Which is why i did the bare minimum since i learned my lesson ages ago. Im glad i resigned months ago.
@@PedroRodriguez-qp8em number game is very accurate comparison. But a game where you have no reward to get a high number. Besides make the others feel devalued
I've been working as a nursing assistant for 7 yrs and thinking of just working at Amazon. Pay and hours seems like same, and gets my back and feet hurts after shifts too. But at least with Amazon I don't have to deal with pee and shit of other people.
I think the breaks are regulated by state law. At my location lunch does not start until you clock out for lunch. It won't let me clock back in until 30 minutes have passed. The clock won't let me clock back in at 28 minutes or even 29. At my warehouse we are given two 20 minute breaks, with the 5 minutes to walk to our break room
Hmm that's interesting. I think I heard that break requirements vary per state. And 20 minute breaks I don't really ever hear of. Maybe they it's a 30 min break but 10 minutes are allocated for you to walk?
20 minute break ? Lucky. We get 15 minutes but we have to set our timer to 10-12 minutes and have to be back to work and in a function before the 15 min mark. If not, we get written up for it if we go over the 15
So I got 'trained' for induct and rebin. Worked for 3 days now, and I do not feel confident about it since I still get confused on when to press a certain button when inducting or scan certain barcode when rebining :/
Do you usually bring your own lunch? Or is there a way to buy food there at the warehouse? Thanks for the tips! Im starting next week so im hoping to give it my best.
You got this! And yeah I bring some food and keep it in my car. But they have fridges you can use inside. And they have vending machines you can buy foods in
Thank you for all this info! I would love to apply but I have an old injury. Maybe Amazon HR will read this comment. If they would even let people sit down for five minute increments after 2 hours of standing, or actually get you off your feet for a full 30 minute break, I'd be fine to do this job. But it sounds like you are literally on your feet for 10-12 hours! Not cool... It sounds like exactly what I need too. Something easy enough without requiring a ton of mental energy, and enables me to stay active. Oh well Amazon, your loss. I have a stellar work ethic.
I recently started working at an amazon warehouse about 3 weeks ago in Fresno ca, and earbuds would be a great solution for being more productive! I sometimes feel like falling asleep and I’m stuck ‘packing’ all day !
I literally just started my Day 1 today (at 20:15 - I'm the UK). My assignment was due to be within Receive, but when I turned up, they had placed me in Stow. I had specifically stated I could not work within Pick/Stow for personal reasons, and was delighted to be told I would be within Receive. I had to leave before my Day 1 was up - I lasted 3 hours. UK Stow processes are different to USA Stow I think. We literally walk just as far as pickers, there are no robotics in our FC. Plus we were told that toilet breaks were pretty much a no-no.
wow that's unbelievable! But I am not surprised to hear this, considering I know Amazon is so unorganized. But now I know it's not just in the united states!
Few things to say about the warehouse I work at, ive been there for 7 months. 1. I work nightshift 12 hour shift we have 2 20 minute breaks and 1 45 minute break, theres way more rest and break areas compared to what you talk about it takes about 2-3 minutes to find the nearest break area. 2. Rate expectations are high and a lot of people dont meet them where i work too but I never see anyone getting in trouble or being bothered by if they dont hit rate. Personally i mostly hit rate (200 for pack) but i literally slow it down sometimes to see if something happens if i dont hit it and nothing has (when i do 160-180) When i worked ICQA for 2 months rate did not matter at all it was all about not having any errors. 3. Talking about music, I dont get in the comments how some people say they play music on speakers at their locations it doesnt make sense why not do it in all locations if their already doing it in some, in the ICQA Stow and Picking area its dead quiet with scanners going off, in the packing area its very loud with some people talking since were close to each other Overall position wise I think packing is easier and less demanding for your mental health but requires way more physical activity than ICQA. ICQA requires more critical thinking and keeping your mind active to make sure you get no errors but is less physical work. Hope this helps anyone that wants to transfer their role. The biggest thing thats a huge stress and I HATE (working in pack) is when i constantly keep getting big items to pack and have missing items forcing you to rush even more to hit rate when that was out of your control. Also you spend your own time setting up your station refilling the boxes because the waterspiders are nowhere to be found and being moved to another station after you filled the one you were in is also triggering
I have heard from other comments that packing is actually hard as well! And for what you said about music, I also think it's really stupid how only select few locations are playing music. And for breaks, for me we only have breakrooms on the first floor, and I'm always stowing on the 3rd or 4th floors so the walks to go there are't ever quick. And yeah rates of course are way too high, and they just set it that high to get the most out of workers by making them stress out
I just finished my first week at Amazon, every job I keep hearing about such as being a picker receiver, or even stower that’s nothing that I ever got at all. My first day and third day were hell. I was a “outbound” worker, I take huge boxes, scan them, and put them inside a section with the same label as scanned from the box and there were various sections, some of them far apart from where you need to put them and you had to keep walking back and forth with sometimes several boxes in hand. Sometimes we’d go inside a truck and stack boxes up to 10 feet tall in which I’m only 4’11. With the weather now. It can get seriously hot in there. Im not sure if that’s what a “stower” is? All your videos I see is referred to being a inbound worker. Their jobs are basically easy as heck. I don’t know what’s to complain about. Id rather just stand there in one area scanning items and putting them in little totes. NOTHING Like I’ve done. I’m a small person and it was so taxing for my body. This is where I believe that it’s “slave” work comes in. Some of the boxes I carried were twice my height and about 120 pounds. It was so painful for me on my first day. I have a few bruises on my arm and legs. Yes the job isn’t a hard job, it’s simple but it’s the fact that it was definitely a lot of manual labor depending in the area you’re working. It didn’t matter if you were fit for your job or not, you were thrown into whatever position and you had to stay there for the first thirty days, my brother who is more physically fit was inbound and worked the receiving line. He didn’t suffer a bit at all throughout the week. I see it kind of unfair to the fact that we’re making the same amount money. I watched a lot of your videos and you do an amazing job explaining. I enjoy them and I thought I’d be prepared when I come into work the first day but the work I was put into was just nothing like the few positions you explained. I’m not sure if it’s that you have a small warehouse and mine is quite large?Due to that fact that my warehouse might be more larger it might be the reasons why we have outbound and inbound sections. Do you guys have this at your Amazon? Have you heard or seen outbound work???
wow you experience and job at Amazon is so much different than mine. But I think it just varies a lot by location. I have never had to move a 120 lb box. The heaviest items I ever have dealt with were cases of water/sports drinks. Maybe soil. Outbound you're taking already packaged orders while for me im taking unpacked items and storing them into the warehouse basically until ordered
Dude you should be in Amazon management. I work in a Data Center for Amazon. It is totally different from fulfilment center. The way you take a problem and bring the good and bad and ways to fix it is a gift you have. We need more minds like this in management.
I mean I'd love to. But They probably have requirements that I may not have, so won't even get looked at. But that's cool that you work in the data center, must be much nicer than what I do! And Idk about a"gift." I feel like a lot of these solutions are plain and simple. And I try not to be a negative person in general
I hate the fact that the rate is high as well. Like dude 400 per hour? That’s ridiculous. Last night there was a huge pod jam in the middle of the floors in each floor of the warehouse. So we would get like 1 pod every hour or none at all. At one point we were all just sitting there for hours doing nothing. They wouldn’t even let us (the pickers) go unless we used our time. And so I ended up staying, they eventually offered pto at 6 am when I leave at 7am... like come on that was the worst night. They need to work on a lot. Instead of wasting our times when something breaks. I definitely agree on everything you say. Hopefully they do some changes.
That's crazy. Making you sit there until 6am just to let you go 1 hour off early. Amazon does need to work on a lot! And I don't see it happening unless someone in charge actually understands from an employees perspective.
The fulfilment centre i was at in England there was radios everywhere other than the picking towers , was kinda fun i was there through an agency and you would always have managers coming to you saying your taking to long or whatever , if i was picking i would go round a corner and run with my trolley , got to have some fun i guess
Just wondering how you guys stow 300 to 400 items a hr when some nights you get majority of items that are 16 inch and 18 inch all night. My manager even saw all my items and he was so cool that he said let me go get you some better shit AKA smaller items 😂
Get them big boxes that have them small items depends the size the smaller the better I once stowed a big box there were iPhone 5 cases there were 100 in a box that shit helps I have coworkers who check other stations to see who has the big boxes or the good items just to steal some lol
Hey bro i have a question. So I got paid for my first week. My next pay day is 2 weeks from now. Do i get paid for this week and next week on the 3rd week? That seems odd ngl
Hey mate, are the toilets close to your work stations? I have an ileostomy so being close would be good. Also is there a canteen/cafeteria to get hot food? Thanks
No for the hot food. But there are microwaves and fridges in the break room. And you can bring in anyfood you want and store them there. And toilets are not that close. Maybe like a 2-3 minute walk usually for me
At UVA4, we can't listen to music. However, the mangers do have music playing up front of the warehouse. I've never heard of DOR1. I know there's a site in Chesapeake. However, I thought that was a UVA site.
In Amzaon I work at in London in the UK Amazon plays music for us all around the warehouse.👍🏻👍🏻 And they give us two 35 minutes breaks and this extra 5 minutes they say it is for you to walk to the canteen or to the smoking areas.
Just got done with week one as a stower in a temp warehouse, no robots just building pallets, I’m an athlete and my body is so sore🤣 made rate every day though
Lora F I just got written up today supposedly I take longer than 30 minutes but I always comeback on time. Manger told me to go on time and comeback early. I know your lunch will only be 18/21 minutes 😑
@@TheOfficialOV and at the amazon I work at we only get 20 mins and when I work 12 hrs I get 3 20 min breaks and I almost barely eat I eat one sandwich a day ever break I eat a third of my sandwich
Is it hard to ask for a day off on certain days? Like if your scheduled to work Saturdays, but can't make it on a certain date. How easy would it be able to get that day off? If that makes sense... lol
If I had to give you a simple answer, No you can't easily get a full shift off without having accumulated PTO hours or getting penalized/possibly fired.
You look sooo much like my old coworker. For a sec i thought it was him. Thank you for all these amazom vids. I start in 6 days and you made me feel less nervous about it. Its my first warehousr job been doing office work for call center jobs for 7 years and i got sick of it. So im kind of excited for a change and no customer service position.
Is there a chance to switch your shift when your hired on? I prefer the 630pm to 5:20am shift , but I have the 120am to 1150. . It’s going to kill me if I don’t get it switched
Are there warmers in the break room like they have fridges ? It’ll be easier to eat if your food is already warm and you don’t have to wait for the microwave
Hi there! Been watching your videos for the past few days now and I do have a question. I need to do my KNet orientation, they sent me an email but I’m trying to log in and won’t allow me. I even try to change the password but still the same. Hope you can help me. Thank you!
hey! And very interesting, your login username should be like your first 4 letters of you first name and then the last 4 letters of your last name. For example (firsname), and then if it's your first time you have to choose "reset password" and then an email will be sent to you to reset and then log in
One thing that is not commonly known, is that there is a 3-minute grace period before breaks start and after they end. The scan to scan brakes are bullshit made up by managers trying to improve their rates. Also, one thing I thought that was weird is that you can only review the employee handbook electronically while you're inside the warehouse.
I would def recommend delivery stations if you have them in your area. If you are looking for a job or trying to transfer. They are a lot smaller and my site was little more lenient on having your phones/headphones since we don’t have big machines or really anything other than a single conveyor belt and carts to stow.
I don't clock out until I heat up my food,I leave 5 minutes before my Break so I can do that.I keep a lil JBL speaker hooked to my belt loop & a iPad in my back pocket.
Your job at 12 hour shifts I can remember working at a factory in clean rooms and listening to ebooks off my iPhone while working. A shift would go by quicker and working third shift it helped prevent me from falling asleep in the job. It’s not like you could talk to other employees because you had to watch the machines, inspect medical parts and record plastic impurities every hour.
Hi, recently I was offered a lead position by a former manager who now works at Amazon. I am considering it, but I'm still unsure because I hear conflicting info about mandatory overtime and pay wage. Do leads make more and are people required to work extra days? I would prefer to work four 10 hour days with 3 days off. I hear all these horror stories about working at Amazon, but from your videos it looks really easy. Currently half of my workday consists of physical labor where I load trucks by hand or onto a conveyor. I load on average over 48,000 lbs of product in 4 hours. Some boxes are light, some heavy. The other half of my shift I just pick orders, process, etc... I do that 5 days a week. It is super fast paced. Extremely hard on the body and anyone who loads trucks knows how hot/cold it is in the back of a semi trailer. I cant leave work until every order is complete. Amazon is looking like a vacation to me.
Amazon is actually not that bad after I read on some other similar jobs. And as for your Lead position you were offered. My job title is "warehouse associate" so I don't know what Lead would be. But I think it would pay more than my job. My job is the amazon minimum. You have to work extra days during like peak season when a lot of orders are coming in. So like during xmas
Heck yeah sugary snacks provide a boost. Avenue C supplies the "vending" in the two I've worked at. Some stuff is expensive but it's like a smaller amazon go store. But you have to scan and pay for the items via credit or debit cards or preloaded accounts. I just used android pay via my phone. Problem is, 1-2 dollars a day if you can keep it that low adds up quickly if you did it all month let alone year.
Sorry...how about the warehouse...theres no music???...the break are pretty scary...i hope I can keep up..i start nextweek:(..but thank you for the information..you have been very helpful 😀😄
Its been 3 weeks and its not bad. They unload the trailer, they induct the packages and we just put them into routes on the floor using a dolly so delivery drivers pick them up in the morning. Our main break room is at the other side of the building but we have a break room next to our work area along with restrooms and water fountains. Break is paid since we only work 4hrs. I only have a 3 week set schedule now im by my phone trying apply for shifts as soon as i get the notification but sometimes they dont have enough spots its frustrating, they are first come first serve
My building used to play loud music which you could almost hear from anywhere in the building stopped doing that for safety reasons. But my building is also a large items building so there is PIT everywhere and needing to hear the PIT is important so I understand why they did so for my building specifically. The breaks though you're 100% on the money. I would do anything for a full 30 min break and not a 12 min walk break and a 18 min actual break. One other thing that I hate which I don't know if you have this problem but my building is always at max capacity or over it. Referring to item space. I could spend 15 mins just looking for a open spot to stow my items.
I recently got hired at amazon and I start in a couple of weeks, I was filling out some paper work and saw that it said I was going to be in the FC Shipping department, do you know what positions are in that department or what kind of work you do there?
Think it's similar to mine. I'm at a FC (Fulfillment Center), but I do inbound. You might be a packer (putting items into boxes and sealing boxes) or loading trucks with packaged orders would be my guess
Hey I have a big question. Whats the adress of the amazon center that your working? Because what I see in your videos is that our amazon centers are different, so I would like to know what amazon center are you working to see if theres a similar one near me.
AFIK and heard online (subreddits) there's expected rates and then a rate of where you keep your job but they keep coming by to see why your rate is low. As a packer in "singles" though they are sending in "mixed" or "multi" totes the rate is like 60-100 packers an hour depending on how long you've been with amazon or rather in that position.
Hey bro does everyone start at 15$? What if u have a good resume anyway you can negotiate to start at a higher rate ? And also how often do they give pay raises ?
NFZ Productions haha dam bro I was really debating on leaving my job and going to amazon but then I came across your videos and very thankful that I did 😂 thanks for all the info!
I have a question. I sell on Amazon and I’m wondering why sometimes when my package arrives at the FC, half of my products are checked In the same day but the remaining can take weeks (all the same ASIN) to be checked in?
Maybe they get stored as pallets in the storage section until they are ordered. If they are in the storage section of the warehluse then Stowers (me) dont scan them into the system
Thanks for the quick reply! The thing is, customers can’t order them until they are checked-in. In my case I send in say 40 units, 20 get checked in and sell the same day then a month later the rest are checked in. What FC do you work at by the way? FTW1 has developed a terrible reputation among sellers, month + check-in times, lost inventory and etc.
When I'm picking I keep my air pod in (just one of course) but when I got out to the main floor some random dude always tells me to take it out. Also am I the only one that would prefer 3 15 minute breaks instead of 2 20s? I still take a break whenever I get a chance, going to the bathroom to wash hands, looking for a missing item when its in my hang, even posting up on the boxes because some days I think me feet are about to fall off. I just need an extra break between a 3 hour and 40 minute work time at the end. Its borderline slavery. Thanks for letting me vent lol.
20 min breaks I don't hear about very often, that's interesting they have those for you. It is borderline slavery. But honestly I don't think it should be like that in reality, considering we work for the richest man in the world
@@NFZProductions 20mins, 5 extra due to covid19. It's supposed to be for washing hands before and after break I guess. Here's hoping they keep the extra time around.
I work 12 hours at a factory and I do the same. I cover it with my scarf. It’s nuts for people to think we’re going to work for long hours without listening to something.
At our warehouse while we cannot where earbuds for obvious safety reasons, they actually play music in the warehouse, in fact associates design the playlists for a shift.
The warehouse I work at in Ohio has been offering a bunch of VTO. I work 3 12hour shifts, and I ended up using the VTO they were offering last Saturday to not go in at all. I was totally drained from thursday and Friday.
At the end of the day about how many packages do you stow? My location doesn’t do the paper thing we do get a number when we sign out though and we have to always have a good takt time.
NFZ Productions do you do small packages all day? I usually get big packages most of the time like blenders and stuff I don’t see how 4000 would be possible
@@Frost0001 I work 12 hr shifts so 11 hrs im working and im always at around 110% rate. So at about 375 per hr for 11 hrs (1 hr is break) puts me at 4125. But ya i always choose stations with small items. I get more smalls than larges usually
Any tips for hitting a 7 second takt time? I work at a fulfillment center with robots in Stowing, and mostly get large items. It's very rare for me to get small items and I am averaging 11-15 takt time after a week at amazon.
31 miles? That's like about an hour drive right? I wouldn't say it is worth it everyday to drive 2 hours for your job. Unless it is the only job you can find right now
They also need to have a bin sweeper or someone to sweep the bins to keep them from looking like crap. 🙄 it would make it way easier to Stow and pick. Opinions or thoughts? I do sweeping when I count but that's exceedingly rare because I usually volunteer for (water🕷)
bro you should tell your manager to move you to the docs, its the best area you can work in! That’s where I work and i pretty much just chill all day and there is no supervisor always watching me, I even get to use my phone
NFZ Productions nah lol i be on the trucks all day and it’s not hard at all 😂 and loading trucks is not the only thing u can do there, there is a lot of stuff u can do so if ur bored you can walk around and help other stations so the day can pass by quick
Luckily im at the front so I don’t have to walk far but my managers are super chill yea there’s a no music policy Amazon has that anywhere but employees where i work do it anyways and the manager has not said one thing about it I remember when I started i had my headphones in and i saw him coming up to me i started to freak out but all he said was don’t forget to come tomorrow for MOT and told me im doing great and to keep up my good work

For real though!! Like it's so obvious to me. And thank you! 🙏

Fun fact rumor has is that some FCs are field testing music in their buildings to see how it affects rates
Good luck. I hated picking cause at my station it was 1 person picking an entire side alone. Fuck that place.
@@NFZProductions I'd be scared to use the wireless buds... I have some but I won't wanna get in trouble!
Right I feel you!!
Since if you didn't have them you might consider just quitting
can they detect the airpods through the security detectors
Yangie Zhang i think soo
I agree on the no music allowed I can’t live without music and I’m so used to listening to music because it makes the job more tolerable. When I was detailing cars I put on music and I really enjoyed doing it.
Yea exactly! They really should let their workers use their own music or they will continue to have a high turnover rate
You have a very good onscreen persona. Great videos! 😍
thank you so much!
My Amazon facility uses the same speakers they use for announcements to play radio music to the whole building. It helps a lot.
During my breaks I just chill at my station.
If I’m lucky I don’t get caught. But I have gotten caught before. Telling me “you can’t sit on the ladder nor totes” like bruhh
Bruhh yeah I always keep a look out when I sit on the ladder. Idk how sitting on a ladder is an issue. Gonna give some bs reason if I ask

If you can try to get waterspider trained!!! Don't have to worry about any rates or tot just be sure keep the stations filled
Yeah I wanted to in the beginning. But I got use to stowing
Because of covoid my fufillment center allows us to carry your phone with you with the intent of it being used for emergencies. Do you think I can take advantage of this and play music on my speaker on the lowest level to where I can barely hear it and get away with it?
yeah for sure. I use wireless earbuds and have my mask cover it and I get 0 problems
Hearing about working conditions like this is the best argument I could ever make for going to college.
yeah i am in college
It stopped me from quitting college. To make decent amounts it seems the best bet is to have specialised skills. I’ve done dead end jobs before and really disliked them.
i will start working at amazon but only for 4 hours and im already stressed with all these videos haha. but i thank you for the fair warning. i am not a quitter but I will do my very best.
you are welcome! And its not that bad when you get started, you will get the hang of it fast!
to anybody that works at Amazon you kno he speaking facts
Thanks man!! Wanted to be as relatable as possible!
Yeah... I'm a picker and I bring the item with me. I scan it, right before I leave for break, still takes 5 mins to get to the break room. Also it seems, like I go a little insane, only hearing the beeps all day XD. I need music.
Hide it.
Nice that's smart. And yea this is a good idea. Try hiding some wireless earbuds like I do. Worst that happens is you get a warning for your first offence. But honestly you prolly won't get into trouble as long as you cover it
facts bro. hide is the move
@Shaun Forrest that's smart! It def helps so much
I really enjoyed this and your prior criticism video and I must say you were excellent!
The biggest problem was when I left my bag at the packing/outbound room and was pawned off to inbound half my shift on nearly the other side of the warehouse.
damn that sucks to hear. But 5 break rooms must be nice. I only have breakrooms on the first floor
You are right man! If majority of the employees can't achieve the required rate, they should just reassess their expectations rather than telling employees to work faster and improve their task time. It is hard to maintain each day for ten hours but for the ones who are the fastest, then they should be rewarded.
Agree!! It's plain and simple to me! If not many can do what you want, then it's not the workers fault.
Use 2 hands it's faster than 1? 😂
Just don't be in bottom 10%,and you should have nothing to worry about.
Having to take pain pills to be able to work for you, poor heath advice on the job, and lousy pay during a global pandemic... wow
Yeah, the taxed bonus SUCKED!

I work e-commerce at Walmart , we aren’t allowed to listen to music either. But people do . It makes the day go faster.
yeah for sure! I think boring jobs like yours and mine should allow this!
I've been working as a nursing assistant for 7 yrs and thinking of just working at Amazon. Pay and hours seems like same, and gets my back and feet hurts after shifts too. But at least with Amazon I don't have to deal with pee and shit of other people.
lol yea this is true. None of that here haha. pay is decent
If not, we get written up for it if we go over the 15
I clock back in at 29 mins and get a missed meal pay I do it everyday an extra 15 a day isnt bad for how much they suck

Hmm interesting position. Not too sure what that is exactly. Maybe someone else will though and can help you out
Do you usually bring your own lunch?
I have a stellar work ethic.
haha sounds like they missed out on a great employee.. their loss indeed
I recently started working at an amazon warehouse about 3 weeks ago in Fresno ca, and earbuds would be a great solution for being more productive! I sometimes feel like falling asleep and I’m stuck ‘packing’ all day !
Yeah I think it's a solution that should be taken seriously by Amazon! I don't know what I would have done without them!
Vicki Dobson what facility was this in the uk?? Please don’t say coventry
@@mandeepsehmbi3972 hiya, its Dunfermline branch.
3. Talking about music, I dont get in the comments how some people say they play music on speakers at their locations it doesnt make sense why not do it in all locations if their already doing it in some, in the ICQA Stow and Picking area its dead quiet with scanners going off, in the packing area its very loud with some people talking since were close to each other
Overall position wise I think packing is easier and less demanding for your mental health but requires way more physical activity than ICQA.
Hi Jay What's it like working at the Data Center I applied for that job in IT Can you please explain any help would be greatly apricated. thanks !!
What’s your stowing/Tak rate? Love ur vids they’re really helpful!

My first day was yesterday and they’ve got us doing something entirely different and I was completely caught off guard
What no way? How do you mean?
The fulfilment centre i was at in England there was radios everywhere other than the picking towers , was kinda fun i was there through an agency and you would always have managers coming to you saying your taking to long or whatever , if i was picking i would go round a corner and run with my trolley , got to have some fun i guess
haha that sounds fun but yes yeah they will always tell you you are too slow even if you are not slow

Its my first warehousr job been doing office work for call center jobs for 7 years and i got sick of it. So im kind of excited for a change and no customer service position.
it is a great change up and I hope you enjoy it as well! And you're welcome! Glad I could help out in some way!!
For example (firsname), and then if it's your first time you have to choose "reset password" and then an email will be sent to you to reset and then log in
NFZ Productions thank you so much for responding ddnt really expect it 😊 and I will try your instructions. Thanks again. 😊
You make some really good points about walking to and from your work station during breaks.
thanks, i try to be as relatable as possible
One thing that is not commonly known, is that there is a 3-minute grace period before breaks start and after they end. The scan to scan brakes are bullshit made up by managers trying to improve their rates.
Also, one thing I thought that was weird is that you can only review the employee handbook electronically while you're inside the warehouse.
I would def recommend delivery stations if you have them in your area. If you are looking for a job or trying to transfer. They are a lot smaller and my site was little more lenient on having your phones/headphones since we don’t have big machines or really anything other than a single conveyor belt and carts to stow.
Sounds better, I will look into this for sure then! Thank you!
Wait, quick question. Sorry for getting annoying lol. Are you suppose to stow 400+ items per hour or every shift of 4 hours?
it's per hour
I don't clock out until I heat up my food,I leave 5 minutes before my Break so I can do that.I keep a lil JBL speaker hooked to my belt loop & a iPad in my back pocket.
That is legit! Thats a great set up haha
I buy ice creams from the bending machine and this small item keeps me motivated all day long
Ah very nice! Any sort of motivation goes a long way when working these long shifts
Dang!!! I’m getting roasted
@@fire2box yeah can add up quick over time
@@therealdeal8765 nah not a roast. Just a friendly tip i think
Sorry...how about the warehouse...theres no music???...the break are pretty scary...i hope I can keep up..i start nextweek:(..but thank you for the information..you have been very helpful 😀😄
You're welcome! And some people said their locations have music. But mine doesn't and you cant listen to your own
Oic...so some have and some don't...i hope for the best if not gotta prepare for the battle lol...anyways once again thank you😄
I work Sunday through Wednesday 6:30pm to 5am I can relate to everything you are saying
Overnight shifts aren't fun :/
Starting the same shift too😮
So Im thinking about stations are full add the overflows to other areas in order to lessen loads
Yes, i think this is a really good idea!
Can someone explain me how working at the fullfillment center can be a side job? I think a 10 hours shift is too long for it to be a secondary job
you should work part time then, not full time hours
I work for Amazon and one thing that we need is a fan on our station. It gets super hot in there and no moving air...please get is some air fans
I only have a 3 week set schedule now im by my phone trying apply for shifts as soon as i get the notification but sometimes they dont have enough spots its frustrating, they are first come first serve
i agree i dont think its that bad
It's just an Amazon Fulfillment center in Texas!
The stupid restrooms are always full smh I almost took a shit on my pants lmaoooo
Only problem i have is the rate they expect, getting tired will happen anywhere, but they just want you to work TOO hard
yep they do, and do not care if you are tired
AFIK and heard online (subreddits) there's expected rates and then a rate of where you keep your job but they keep coming by to see why your rate is low. As a packer in "singles" though they are sending in "mixed" or "multi" totes the rate is like 60-100 packers an hour depending on how long you've been with amazon or rather in that position.
oh that's interesting. I read the subreddits too, they are pretty helpful
Hey bro does everyone start at 15$? What if u have a good resume anyway you can negotiate to start at a higher rate ? And also how often do they give pay raises ?
No pay raises bro, and no negotiations lol
I take 8 minutes minimum from walking back and fourth from the parking lot during breaks so yes breaks are definitely a problem !
I know right!! I hate the stupidly long walks
@@fire2box oh that's cool at least. Giving 5 minutes more just to wash hands. Wish we did that here
I work 12 hours at a factory and I do the same.
Not sure, maybe at least 4,000 though.
Yeah I always have large and no one picks there station
Is the gift cards from your own personal pocket or the company’s money?
from me lol. Amazon won't give you nothin haha
Any tips for hitting a 7 second takt time? I work at a fulfillment center with robots in Stowing, and mostly get large items. It's very rare for me to get small items and I am averaging 11-15 takt time after a week at amazon.
Does amazon make you park in a certain place like if you were to take you’re car to work? Or it doesn’t matter where you park?
doesn't matter. Just hope for a close spot to be open
I got a 1-2-1 interview tomorrow , but i dnt know becuz the warehouse is like 31miles away frm where i live. What you reckon??
31 miles? That's like about an hour drive right? I wouldn't say it is worth it everyday to drive 2 hours for your job. Unless it is the only job you can find right now
Yes the rates are so annoying.... the other day my rate was 180 and I was told that I was one of the top stowers....
Amara Klisch show off
Octa’s Trash Channel I wasn’t try to show off... I was saying the expected rate of 200 is too high when a top rate is 180
The expected was 200 but 180 was top?? Wow that's crazy. More obscure than my warehouse.
They also need to have a bin sweeper or someone to sweep the bins to keep them from looking like crap. 🙄 it would make it way easier to Stow and pick. Opinions or thoughts? I do sweeping when I count but that's exceedingly rare because I usually volunteer for (water🕷)
this would be very useful indeed! But if they pods move, items might all tumble around again
bro you should tell your manager to move you to the docs, its the best area you can work in! That’s where I work and i pretty much just chill all day and there is no supervisor always watching me, I even get to use my phone
Hmm interesting.. I've actually heard differently about the docks. It's rough unloading/loading those trucks
NFZ Productions nah lol i be on the trucks all day and it’s not hard at all 😂 and loading trucks is not the only thing u can do there, there is a lot of stuff u can do so if ur bored you can walk around and help other stations so the day can pass by quick
@@allanp2001 ah okay. Are the boxes usually large and heavy? Or they like smaller and light
NFZ Productions most of them are small some of them are heavy but the most heavy boxes are only 49 pounds at most
The music thing is almost a deal breaker for me 😂
Luckily im at the front so I don’t have to walk far but my managers are super chill yea there’s a no music policy Amazon has that anywhere but employees where i work do it anyways and the manager has not said one thing about it I remember when I started i had my headphones in and i saw him coming up to me i started to freak out but all he said was don’t forget to come tomorrow for MOT and told me im doing great and to keep up my good work
Could you post a workout routine to get you ready for working at Amazon?
I dont have a workout routine just for amazon. You just need to walk a lot thats really it
