Most no longer even think of the word indie and independent as the same word. The funniest example of this is CDPR. When they made Witcher 1 and Witcher 2, everyone one called them a small indie studio in Poland. I have over 100,000 gamerscore and stoped seriously playing my Xbox 5 years ago and switched to ps

My gamer score was 33,000 back in the 360 era, it is still around 36,000, but i haven played on Xbox since 2013.
Lol I was at like 26,000 at the end of the 360 gen and haven’t really played on the platform since.
Same, except I do Play Titanfall still. That and MCC are the only two games I have ever bought for the Xbox One which was gifted to me. The only other Xbox games I play are from my physical 360 and original Xbox titles I've collected since 2002. There hasn't been a single exclusive title in 10 years aside from TF and MCC (which is a remaster) that is worth playing.
I felt that Xbox One was the worst console generation of all time, then the Series X came out and 3 years in, not a single title exclusively built for the SX architecture and not one game with modern graphical capabilities. I just saw leaked Starfield gameplay and it looks and plays like Fallout 4 (I enjoyed Fallout 4 on PS4, but there is no excuse for a current title hyped this much to look like a game from 2015.

What make a gamer?
Someone who know what kind of games he or she likes, but who is also open mind to try any kind of games that he or she think she dislikes. (Why buy a game that you know that you will barely touch)
Depending of the games, platinum or have all trophies is not necessaraly a goal (since most of my games don't have any trophies or achivements).
For me real gamers don,t care about services (like gamepass or PS+), but care about games, no framerate or resolution. They care about have quality games over quantity (less bugs as possible, gliches ).
Don't promote their own taste to other. Like I personaly don't care about Forza or Grand Turismo, I play them, but I am not a cars games, i will never tell that I think they to are boring a fan of Forza or Grand Turismo. However, I will tell them that does games are not in my favourite games and I prefer that type of games.
Don't promote scumbag Games as a Services, bullshit microtransactions / macrotransactions and so on.
Don't defend coportations that doesn't like us and wants only our money. To gain money, they have to offer me good, great, games
(Personaly, I don't care about 4K or not or 30 FPS or 60 FPS, that don't make a good or bad ).
Don't preach on a product or another (Personaly I prefer Playstation, Nintendo, PC over Xbox, without hating Xbox, it ecosystem never appeal me, exexpt the 360, I don't own any other Xbox).
Gamers plays any kind of games, from Great games and trash games. Some bad games are so bad that they becomes classics by default.
I personaly prefer solo driven games. Linear or Open World. If the music, the sound design, the story and the gameplay hook me, I will play. (I understand people who prefer Multuplayer, but it is not my cup of tea.
Gameplay have to be at the service of the story, the story have to be at the service of the gameplay.
For the time to play a games, depending of what type of games. So of my oldest game, they were like two hours (but with a lot of replayblility, multiple ends ). But generally, I will say unlimited time (by that I mean people takes their times or rush a games depending on their playstyle, me I have like a turtle, like so games I didn't beat them, but not because I not good, but I like to savour all my times with the games)
To analyze a game, don't need to play 10 hours or +, because an analyze you don't need to complete games to notice bugs or problems in the games. See goods or bads in a games make each games uniques (even rip off of another games can have their own savour )...

All you need to do, to be considered as a gamer. Is to tune into a video streaming service like TH-cam or Twitch at least once a year to watch somebody play games, this to be considred as being a real gamer. But you wanna talk about NPD's ?!? Those stats means a lot more than achivements in gaming these days. Especially when Xbox makes one single good month of sales on NPD, out of twelve months.
