So, what you're saying is you met God and he gave you the Metal Commandments. Jk. Tab book is sick. Trying to learn I, Monarch. Been looking for tabs since 2005. 🤘
Such a cool and down-to-earth guy, who's been involved in more classic albums than most! And he brings something new to Corpse, not that they weren't great before. Great interview!
Erik is too basic to match any of them. Both Owen and Pat had way more creative writing. There is less craziness in Erik's riffing. Pat and Jack are technical, Erik is the standard chug chug player
@@xNachtmahRxyou dont know what you are talking about. Clearly you haven't heard his Masterpiece Conquering the Throne with Hate Eternal nor his latest album with CC nor Domination with Morbid Angel.
@@LCRLive687 I remember going to buy this album when I left school in '99, riff on conquering the throne are insane and they’re really not common. He’s clearly talking about something he doesn’t know.
Just saw cannibal corpse and dark funeral. Erick did a great job and is a fantastic guitar player. Definitely miss Pat and his playing though. One of the best
For me, Gore Obsessed is my absolute favorite album. I remember as a kid seeing the monster with cloak of faces was insane. An image that always stuck with me
Love Rutan...dude is a beast. Talent to the moon and a legend in the studio and in some great bands. Still love the track Powers That Be by Hate Eternal. Great interview with a great guy.
Cannibals current lineup is awesome! Rutan shreds and has good stage presence. Whenever cannibal corpse comes to the home of death metal, (Tampa) I am there for the hometown show
I got the chance to see Cannibal with Erik on the Violence Unimagined tour. Really amazing show, but I had to bail early cuz I was way too fucked up lmao.
Erik was a great addition to cannibal. It rebooted the band in a sense.. Seems like a fun dude too. Jack Owens past contributions don't get enough credit.
Pat being my van Halen, meaning my idol in guitar playing, hair length and charisma, I think Eric is the only person ENTITLED to having replaced Pat. Pat was Cannibal Corpse to me and always will be, period, but I will give a huge shout-out to Eric for his playing style, ability and as he is a good friend of Pat so all of this makes sense. Hopefully though we will see Pat with Exhorder on tour more often, or some other band. A great comeback anyway.
Erik seems like a truly humble and nice guy.
Hail Cannibal Corpse 🤘
Awesome. Much metal love and respect for Erik Rutan. Hail Cannibal Corpse AND Hate Eternal.
Cannibal Corpse are very fortunate that Rutan is in the band. He's a stellar player, and brings good vibes. It was meant to be.
I was terrified when I first saw Eric with Hate Eternal’s music video. But the dude is genuinely a chill dude!
Thanks so much for the shoutout! It's been an honor working with you on the tab books, looking forward to doing more.

@@morbidcorpse5954 Thanks for your support!
@@EvanBradleyTranscriptions Definitely. I can say those songs are hard AF, but definitely a serious challenge
@@morbidcorpse5954 Erik is certainly a unique player, which made the transcribing fun and challenging.
Erik is a brand of his own! You don't replace, man, you complement! :)
Erik is just a great dude, thanks for sharing this interview with us.

Would love to see The Bleeding played all the way through… I’ve never heard a live version of She Was Asking For It. My favorite Cannibal song 🤟
Yes
sorry but the lyrics from every song from the Barnes era suuuuck
Sick track
It's Vile for me.
Rutan has probably the most impressive resume of anyone in extreme metal
Jack Owen changed death metal with gallery and bloodthirst. Has to be so hard to match those two. Pat’s fast stuff is so unique.

Jack, Rob and Pat are the shit. Erik is a great addition.
One of the most Goated Guitarists/Producers of all time!
I’ve met Erik and he is the coolest most down to earth real guy. Not many left like him. Your a legend brother.
I met Eric in the late 90’s when he was still in Morbid Angel and you’re right, he’s such a cool dude and very friendly! 🤘🏽
I've been fortunate to meet him a few times after shows. He chill with everyone, even Jared, who's basically a drunk Willie the grounds keeper.
Erik is one chill and humble dude, Fantastic guitarist!
16:07 THIS is what a death metal should look like.🤘
Man I got to see rutan shred with morbid angel on the gateways tour it was insane
Great interview!! I´ve enjoyed this one a lot 🤘🤘 Rutan is an amazing and very inspiring guitarist, can´t wait for a new Hate Eternal album 🔥
ERIK RUTAN--- THE BEST!!!!!!!!
Great information 🤘🏿🖤
The Bleeding was the first CC album I ever bought. Definitely a classic.

The Bleeding is to Cannibal Corpse's discography what Michael Jackson's Off the Wall and Prince's 1999 albums are in their discographies.
man how i would love to see cannibal live. as you can tell by my alex webster pfp 😂
if the red chord is gonna do a full album why not do fused together?
Hey I have that red TBDM shirt!
He's a pothead?
That's... unexpected.
I am too! hahahahahaha
TOMB OF THE MUTILATED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
of Cannibal AND HATE ETERNAL!
Oh shit! Hate Eternal tabbook! :O
BTW The Eagles won the draft
Last couple albums generic crap
🤷🏻♂️
i mean yeah id NEVER pick the last few albums over the classics but they’re definitely not bad albums by any means
@_Ezzgar_ if you can't ever achieve anything close to classics, Retire
