    Human beings are such strange creatures. We’ve spent 198 years to get cameras to be as sharp as possible, and the moment we reached perfection, we got bored.

      @raidriar01 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Well cameras were as sharp as possible since the 1910s 😅 It just mattered if you wanted to do large format or not. Even modern sensors can’t really compare to a 8x10 or larger sheet of film drum scanned. I think we just like film better since it’s basically magic

    The reason everyone's Dad had a Canon years ago was at least partially due to marketing. In particular, Canon pushed the AE-1 Program heavily, and hence, every new camera purchaser demanded a "program" camera. As Canon was the only manufacturer that had the word "program" on the camera (Minolta had a program feature on their camera but not the word), Canon dominated the consumer SLR marketplace at that time. I sold Canon, Yashica, Nikon, Fuji, and Olympus at that time, and everyone wanted a program camera, hence, a Canon. Some wouldn't even look at another brand.

    Im a big hater of people not hiding their lav mics (usually the rode wireless ones, I'm ok with a tiny mic sticking out) but the tiny mic is SO much better than those huge black boxes on peoples shirts. This feels very, comfortable I guess? It gives a very welcoming feeling.
    Edit; watching more of the video, I really like your choice of SFX. They arent overdone and do their job of adding to the video, not distracting from it, they are very satisfying.

    I only got into photography at the end of last year, not entirely sure why I didn't do it earlier but yeah I got some great advice on how to start out which was to get a 5dmk2 and a 50mm lens. Didn't cost nothing but was still very affordable and it served me so well in learning the ins and outs and I think I could live the rest of my life never using anything else - however I did afford myself the luxury of getting a 24mm lens, then a 70-300mm and eventually upgraded the house to the 6dmk2 which has proven to just be a straight upgrade in every respect. The main advantages to the 6dmk2 over the 5dmk2 is the autofocus system and automatic ISO settings which has let me get action shots of little birds in flight in a way that I think I could probably have achieved with the 5d with enough preparation and patience. That said I don't tend to photo little birds like this a lot and tho it was a lot of fun when I first did, after the novelty wore off I didn't feel like that was *that* great of an advantage, however the thing that I do appreciate about it a lot still is the sensor quality upgrade. The 5ds sensor is great and more then adequate, buuuut it's really nice to be able to crank the ISO up and still get appealing results in a way that the 5d can't let me... If you shoot in good lighting conditions, not much of an advantage, but I tend to shoot a lot at night because I'm a weirdo like that and I really like it for that.
    My next buy will have to be a more compact camera tho, with an integrated lens, I love my camera and it's lenses but overtime I've gotten lazier and often thought to myself that it would be nice if I could just have something to bring out with me that didn't require me to carry a dedicated bag for it. No idea what to get tho, do you have any camera you'd recommend?

    • @femigod
      @femigod  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So cool, thank you for sharing! I felt the same way about my AE-1 and the 50mm lens, the combination is just too good and especially when you're first starting out. And are you looking for a compact digital or film camera?

      @@femigod I have not, but I certainly will... the camera I'm leaning toward is a Nikon Coolpix A, if I can find a used one for a reasonable price... will probably look for cheaper alternatives cause the coolpix a seems to go for about as much as I bought my 6dmk2 for and that is a bit high for me
      my friend has a canon powershot s100 that he got for like 20 bucks and while I'd like something atleast a *little* fancier than that, he's taken some great pictures with it and for the price he got it for it's downright amazing

      Interviews or live events!

      @@femigod I guess, but was this camera made at a time where interviews and live events were common place? And if so was it at all made with that niche in mind? I only ask because I am actually genuinely curious. Trynna rationalize why it would stop after 30 minutes on one specific mode.

      @@ImmaSayKOOHWIP The A7s or some other Japanese cameras stops recording at 30 mins is due to the fact that according to Japanese regulations, cameras capable to do recordings over 30 mins will be classified as video recorders, making them falling into a different tax bracket and requirements, hence many of the manufacturers simply made the limit to 29mins 59 secs. I believe there are ways to bypass it tho

    if your camera is working correctly, focus is always a you problem. Took me a while to get focus quickly on a 4x5 but now its almost second nature.

      Definitely agreed, I realized after making this video that the commonality between my focus issues with the contax t2 and the canon 310xl was, at the end of it all, me. So now, I prefer to call it "artistic choice."
