I've said this before and I'll Say it again, If you are looking for speed Or 0-60 Numbers, then this is not the car for you, Because that's not what this car is or was Intended for, This is a family oriented, Long trip capable, Reliable, Multi purpose Vehicle... Sure a Mustang is going to smoke an out back on the quarter mile, But have that same quarter mile race.
With about 8 inches of snow and see who comes out on top then.

I have 2 Outbacks, a 2022 Premium for the wife and a trimmed-out 24 Onyx XT for myself. The acceleration in the NA 2.5 is more smooth but it does feel underpowered. The 2.4 turbo has plenty of power but between the fake shifting CVT and the turbo lag, the acceleration can be quite choppy. The 2.5 should be sufficient for most drivers but if you're any kind of car enthusiast you'll be wanting for power. The XT spools up nicely in the mid RPMs and really gets this car moving down the road. It inspires plenty of confidence for passing merging and speeding away from idiots. This is not the case in the non-turbo.

I have a Subaru Outback 2020 premium model. The acceleration in my car is very well. When I hop on the freeway with my outback it gets up to speed really well. One thing I don’t have in the back seat is air events.

Actually drove both the 2025 turbo XT limited as well as the non turbo limited. Liked the turbo, but just ordered the non turbo limited. Better gas mileage, it will get me were I need to go just fine, less of a chance for any turbo issues. Car arriving end of July.

I’m still driving my 2001 Subaru Outback 3.0 LL Bean. I bought it new. She has 292K miles with no major repairs. I know she will need to be replaced in the next year or two but I don’t want turbo and a 2.5 won’t suit me. I’m hoping they will come back to their senses.

We’ve had a 10 3.6 limited, 17 2.5 limited & 21 XT Touring. I’ve driven a 22 loaner non-turbo, it was a slug. I’m guessing the newer ones are heavier, if buying another Outback I’d no doubt get the turbo. We live in the mtns of W.NC. The non turbo struggles going up steep mtn highways at speed. Where as the turbo has almost diesel like torque & just charges up the mtn as fast as you safely want to go. I really like the Subaru 2.4Turbo! 👍🏻

200hp and 200 torque if the bare minimum if the car weighs over 3200lbs with you in it.

Not a fan of that front end or the fender flares that look like a 5 year old designed them. But a good value these days! Nah, I’ll take my Pathfinder platinum materials! Yes on the XT. Outback’s are everywhere in Colorado.

They are easy to work on for regular maintenance... they do require some extra work like diff fluid changes, but they are not expensive to maintain, and parts are cheap. I just sold a 2013 and got $7000 on a trade in, which was 25% of the purchase price. I could have gotten $9K or more if i sold it privately. They have great resale value. After 12 years of ownership the only major job was to replace a rusted out cat back exhaust system.
