Do you do anything to prepare the rat for skinning? I'm about to go try and skin my first one next week with a friend who's also never skinned an animo.
330 MaNiaC lol got you. I grew up in Mexico but now reside in Indiana and I ate just about any wild life that my uncles and I hunted. Just never muskrat.

i always hung them by the tail to skin with a piece of lawn mower starter cord tied to vise grips....and used a butter knife to scrap and flesh them

I think the only thing you need to do to prepare it for skinning is make sure it's dead first and I really hope you got that right when you tried it.
